Cancel 2020 Palm Springs Weekend

Dear All -

I am sorry to announce that I must cancel the 2020 Palm Springs Weekend. In addition to the health concerns, the two restaurant venues are and will be closed until May 1. Also some of the possible attendees have already let me know that they will not be coming. Therefore, with all things considered, it is best to forego the festivities this year.

I hate to be a bummer and there are a lot, lot of people having it worse but I am going to feel bad because I am supposed to arrive in Palm Springs and go to my hotel this eve. My love goes out to everyone who was going to be there. Also, of course, to all the people of the world who have to go through this at all.

As I made dinner here in central Ohio, where I have seen the snow falling today, I decided that I would pretend that I was having dinner at Tropicale as I have the last two years on Friday evening. Hope all of my Palm Springs pals, including the "breakfast guys" at InnDulge are all doing well.

Today we would have gathered at Trio for dinner, and although that is not going to take place, I am raising my glass (martini) to say thanks to Oliver for all the time and money he has put into making the PS Gathering a premier event! Also a special thanks to Epiganos,, our very own James Beard or is it Julia Child, for the delicious food he prepares each year - guess I will have to make my own deviled eggs. A shout out to all of the regulars at INNdulge. This would have been my tenth gathering - who knows what the future holds - stay safe, have fun and always be true to yourself.

It would have been my first time at the event... Yes, thank you to the organizers because it does take a lot of work to plan and organize such large scale gathering. Here's hoping for next year... Cheers!

Well, AZ, if there was a symbol with an emoji with a tongue sticking out toward you (not quite in hate but you know what I mean) I would post it. It was going to be pretty damn perfect weather when we were all going to be there, high 70's, low 80's. Oh, well, next year for sure. And after this, I know where I will be and exactly what I will be doing. So pick those dates. Rick

There should be a Pool Event happening, but the pool and environs at my rented condo are poignantly devoid of convivial hobbyists and escorts – not even a naked @Robster in the pool! There are no deviled eggs, bacon-wrapped stuffed dates, or other Epicurean delights created by that wizard, @Epigonos. There are no thirst-quenching libations, no luscious eye candy, no tantalizing conversations, and no one enjoying the spa. Not this year. Hopefully next?

My hopes and prayers are that all those who were going to attend, all those who have attended in the past, and all those who have thought of attending are well and healthy and taking care of themselves and those they care about. (And thanks to PK for taking care of and looking after all that he has and will.) Hugs to all!
