And which place is this again? (asking for myself)

Rei Do Gado Brazilian Steak House at the corner of 4th and Broadway in downtown San Diego.

It has been a while since I've dined there and they have changed the format slightly. Now, the "hot bar" is all you can eat when you order an entree. It appears that before 4:00 PM seven days a week the "Premium Lunch" (which include the hot bar) is $34.95.

But recently a lot of escorts I've been hiring seem to be expecting me to be able to spend a lot more money on them than I am really able. Sometimes it comes up in wanting lots of repeat business, or wanting me to take them out to expensive dinners and shopping trips.

As an escort, I've always been uncomfortable with the idea of asking for anything "extra". Any gifts or tips consist of a generosity, in my view, and repeat bookings are to be earned.

The stories I hear of escorts following up with clients to ask them to book another session still seem weird to me, despite their apparent frequency. No judgement, of course, if that's how you make your living, but to me it never even seemed like a sound business strategy. Clients, maybe you can tell me-does it ever work?

Is there any other business involving strictly discretional income where the professional and not the client initiates repeat business?

I don't mean to start a rant- the bottom line, @keroscenefire, is that I don't think there's any reason that you should have to accede to these requests. I expect no more or less than the compensation agreed upon in advance, and I'd be hopeful that many great escorts in your area operate the same way.

I've had guys follow-up after a playdate, but none have blatantly asked me to take them out to dinner or a shopping spree.

sometimes I get too analytical......

if I arrive at 12:30pm on a non-holiday weekday, what's to keep me from saving $8 and ordering Picanha off the Lunch Special menu instead of the Premium Lunch menu??......both menus apparently include the Gourmet Salad and Hot Dish Bar........is it portion size for the steak??.....:D

By the time you make it up the too-narrow Horton Plaza garage ramp without damaging your car and/or a pedestrian, find a parking space in dizziness-inducing garage, regain your bearings after the dizziness wears off, commit to memory "fruit vs vegetable" (this is important, trust me), locate the stairs, weave through the homeless people, navigate to Fourth and Broadway, and arrive at the restaurant it will be 12:42 and the problem will have solved itself.

All that analyzing - for nothing! :)

Don't think arriving at the parking garage early will get you to the restaurant sooner. A group of hungover/still drunk from the night before pedestrians will decide to walk against the light at Fourth and E streets and cause you to be late.

Oh, and say "hi" to the shirtless homeless guy for me. (No, he is not worth looking at, but somehow he always manages to show up)

I think part of it might be that I do try to be fairly nice and generous when I am on a date with these guys. So maybe they are expecting that I can do that all the time, when that isn't the case. Only one has been really persistent with these requests. The other two that I am thinking of pretty much have let it go once I tell them that I can't afford another date at the moment.

This has been an interesting thread. My hiring experience is limited at this point, but I have been really lucky with my choices, thanks in large part to this forum. I’ve hired really sweet, kind men who don’t treat the sessions like business transactions, even though for them they are. None has ever asked for anything more than their fee. In fact, when presented with a small gift (sexy underwear) they seemed genuinely touched. The truly smart providers look beyond the current session and have enough integrity to not want to financially harm their clients or jeopardize a good relationship. All three providers I’ve hired have encouraged me to keep in touch with them even to just say hello and the most “pressure” ever exhibited was a “looking forward to our next session” comment either in person or via text.

As others have said, if getting pressured for “extras,” a strong but friendly NO will stop that and honestly, will be enough to terminate my interest in future sessions.

I had a hire once tell me I didn't have to tip him when I did. I jokingly asked if he would rather me take the money back. ?

Normally I never tip except occasionally I'll bring a sweet treat after asking if the guy has any food restrictions, but I booked an hour with him and we spent 4 together and he didn't ask for any additional funds.
