No face pic or outdated pics - what's worse ?

Phony pics are sadly a dime a dozen, so that is obviously not included in my curiosity. I've only booked one masseur without a face pic - and from that 1 experience understand why he did that. I've also had a booking with a handsome clean cut gentleman who looked like Grizzly Adams in person, which is fine, but misleading based on his smooth appearance in his ad. Yes, it was definitely him, as his eyes and tattoos were a match.

To me, outdated pics are worse than faceless/headless pics. However, there are conditions to that. I mean if the person looks the same, but has something additional like a beard, hairier body, tattoo(s), haircut, or not as cut/defined, to me that's not enough of a change to be bothersome.

 

If I'm meeting the guy for the first time and his pics show an adonis and when we meet he's built more like Gollum... we have a problem. Although I have seen some guys over years that went from hyper-muscled to chubby or beefy. In those cases, I know the guy is still the same fun guy I met and I still enjoy my time. I continue to see them.

 

The faceless/headless thing, as long as I know the guy in the pics is the same guy I'll meet, I'm ok with it. I've met a good number of guys who used faceless shots. A lot of them retired and I still see them (platonically and sexually). If fact three of the guys that never showed their faces in their ads (as far as I know) are some of my best and continuous hires.

I agree with @big-n-tall; a deceptive picture is worse than no picture.

Not to hijack the thread or go off on a tangent but when an ad has 20 plus pictures showing various looks (beard, clean shaven, long/short hair etc) is very confusing and might be an attempt to not be deceptive. I usually end up not reaching out because I have no idea what to expect. Asking what picture they look like makes me uncomfortable. Again, apologies for the tangent.

I wouldn't hire guys who are chubby or beefy (whatever that means). If someone goes from muscled to chubby, a friend (or a client) should tell them to do something about it.

There's no excuse for years-outdated photos. Most people have great cameras on their cell phones and a quick snapshot is simple.

Some times clients don't even describe themselves and if they do God knows why they might take a few years and pounds. It's a hearsay, guilty as charged!

We have to remember that many guys are doing this on the side and have careers and families to think about. Outdated is worse because there is an intention to deceive. I hired a guy who used pics so old I didn't think I had the right person. While he was beautiful back then, time hadn't been so kind to him and he said that he used the pic as a lure to get new clients. I was a little upset and told him the next guy may not be as forgiving. I think something must have happened because a few months later he posted pics of what he looks like currently. A guy without pics on the other hand has to work much harder to convince you he's worth the chance. No pics is already a strike, but if he has a hell of a personality and is honest about his description he will win me over enough to give him a chance.
