Ha, in that article in included rural Missouri as one of the places of the “study”.

I just so happen to rotate between touring and rural Missouri myself, outside of Kansas City. The choice on Grindr are slim, usually 20-30 miles away, and a4a doesn’t even register the city. There’s hardly any black people here, but I have gone up to the local gym here and see regularly a few hot “straight” guys. I have taken the step to chat to a couple of them, but in the effort I’ve made so far...I haven’t gotten any action out here.

Every time I make a conversation with a “straight” white guy out in public, they ALWAYS bring up their “girlfriend/wife”. One of my clients told me, they do it intentionally to build up a wall to say their off limits, even when I don’t even be intentionally trying to hit on them. I just be curious lol.

However...when it comes down to it, it “could” happen, but I feel 2 factors come into play: they tend to be older and if any heteroflexible stuff is going down, it’s going to be between other white guys. On top of that, add in that they probably know each other thru organizations or whatever.

The only time I have any success meeting another guy for sex is apps, bars, or ads. There’s only been a few times in life that I’ve met someone out in public outside of any gay establishment, and it’s turned into something (one was a Puerto Rican guy at the car wash...he had a wife and we ended up fucking for months. Eventually I moved, and down the line I heard they split).

Sometimes I don’t know what to think. Sometimes I feel there’s a lot more heteroflexible men than we know. Other times I feel the MSM population is much smaller than i seems. In some cities, once you get outside of the gay neighborhood, all you see is guys pushing strollers, kids everywhere, and pretty much like gay people don’t even exist outside of the bedroom.

I would agree with that. A guy who advertises on RM that he is straight probably isn't straight. But they are sort of a special case. They know that you know that they're bullshitting, but it makes a nice fantasy. So nobody wants to upset the apple cart and call them on the fact that they aren't straight.

In the movie "Scenes From The Class Struggle In Beverly Hills" Robert Beltran lost a bet and had to let Ray Sharkey suck him off. Beltran is asked about it and says something about one hole being like another. Or maybe Ray Sharkey says that when trying to convince Beltran to take part in the bet.

So if you figure most escorts either gay or straight probably have a certain inner "flexibility"/risk-taking component in how they are made over the average person, you could probably see how a straight guy who only intended to top could be an escort for gay men.

And there are probably straight guys like the guy in the movie 'Road Trip' who like anal stimulation who could bottom for gay guys.

So I think it's possible for some escorts to actually be straight. The problem is knowing which ones really are. I'm sure there are also some escorts advertising as gay or bisexual who are really straight too.

Like the guys on rentmen.

Sorry to burst your bubble. At any given time and historically there are a plethora of guys on RM and other G4P sites, and/or who do G4P Porn who are straight and are not in denial of being gay or Bi and therefore participating in those activities as some sort of psychological cover. They are just temporarily doing that in some way, shape or form, getting by in life.

Even in Kansas City www.farmersonly.com rules as a hookup site.

Love that movie. Love all Paul Bartel movies. Yes, he says "A mouth is a mouth is a mouth." As RB is about to get fucked (or whatever transpires, we don't get to see much) he says to himself, "you live long enough, you do some crazy shit."

My favorite part of that scene is when RB wakes in the morning, looks over at RS next to him in bed, and rather than be appalled or regretful, he shrugs his shoulders in a very "not so bad" manner. Fun movie.

On the other hand the writer, Paul Bartel, was, "according to Wikipedia," " openly gay. So maybe that was just how he wished straight men reacted.

I remember seeing an article that said Brazilian men don’t view topping as homosexual activity. I kind of agree, sexual and romantic attraction are vastly different and the way men are contained in western society allows for this.

I agree about Brazilians attitude toward sex. I have traveled there several times and they have a much more fluid concept about sex performance, as far as engaging in it at all. However as was mentioned men on the whole seem to have no problem engaging as tops. Moreover a few bucks will convince them that bottoming is not all that bad. While the country is religious I did not find that it permeated a prohibition against male to male sex. Even if a guy topped another guy that did not make him gay. It just meant that his cock felt really good. Unfortunately I do not know if the same thing applied to women or if it is the same as it is here in that woman seem to have a better ability to conceive of engaging in sex with another woman. Not they will do so but they conceive of doing so.
