• What does "Available Now" actually mean when it is lit up in green on a RentMen profile?

• Similarly, what does "Joe Smith is available in the next 6 Hours" mean in the Buddylist > Buddylist Activities section?

Available now means he might be accepting clients right then, or he forgot to turn the 'Available Now' toggle off when he went to bed.

 

I don't know anything about 'BuddyLists.'

I have had several occasions where I reached out relatively late night via text, phone, and email to guys in NYC who indicated "available now" -- some simply didn't answer, and the few who did responded with an incredulous "do you know how late it is???" to which I wanted to respond "do you know what "available now" means?" but I didn't.

The whole "Joe Smith is available for the next 6 Hours" has one flaw from my perspective. It only shows the date in which that status was put up. However, it does not show the time. So, we don't know if we are within that six hour window or not. Just my 2 cents.

I had that happen a couple months ago. Flight landed really late and an escort I wanted to hire was showing up in the same city as available now and he got really pissy for contacting him at midnight. If they don't want contacted that late then they shouldn't say they are available now

Like so many other terms and conventions, it means whatever Humpty Dumpty wants it to mean, and it's subject to change at a moment's notice.

I remember when I was new to this and was let down by the "available now". I texted him and he asked when I wanted to meet and I said "now" and he said it would be at least 2 hours before he was ready. I now take "available now" as "I may or may not be working today but I was not too long ago and I might tomorrow".

I saw an escort actually go into Rent.men and set this up once right after a session. They actually can choose how long they want to be available. But of course many forget they put it on or whatever. It's actually not the same thing as "online now," which of course means they were logged into their Rent.men account. They can show it as available or not regardless of if they are actually logged in.

My observation (not claiming I have read it correctly) is that if an escort sets up the 'Available in the next 6 hours' that you see in the Buddy Activities tab, his profile will show 'Available Now' for those six hours then switch it off automatically. I doubt that there is a uniform view from escorts as to what 'Available Now' means in detail, but I would expect that at least they would be open to discussing an appointment in that time window. Whether they would be ready to walk out the door, or for you to walk in within 10 minutes is a separate question. Communication is key.

Having "Available Now" also bumps them up in the list.

It will greatly vary from escort to escort, so essentially.. it means nothing. It is decoration.

A few things to consider:

•Available now doesn’t equate to a swift reply back via text or RM message.

•Available now doesn’t mean “right now.”

•Available now means the escort has selected a window of time he is accepting clients anywhere from 1-6 hours.

•Available now simply won’t expire for some escorts as it will limit their visibility in the event a client does a filtered search for “available now” escorts only. Some will leave it on.

...the takeaway: inquire within with low expectations that someone is actually waiting for you to contact them and available “right now,” because that is seldom the case.

 

Clients don’t pay attention to it anyway. I have had “not available,” or unset on for x amount of hours and clients still message you “available now??” So.
