I would say that while connecting with him, members here to excercise caution and not bring up his past to him. Sometimes it is human nature to poke into things out of curiosity and it is good to control that urge. Make things comfortable for him.

I understand your point and it valid too. However remember that his mental disposition was different then. Now if it is same then sometimes we can't change people for good. But let us keep finger crossed as now he may be an altogether different and sober person. Let us cooperate with him and see how it goes.

For those of us who know his real name and background, spending some time back East makes sense. He just got out of jail and is returning to a place where family and friends can offer support. He put his house in Vegas up for sale soon after he was arrested. I don’t know if it sold or if he still owns it. Regardless, he’s obviously getting reacclimated to freedom.

 

I will say I’m surprised that he’s escorting again so soon after his releas. And I do hope he returns to Vegas. I’d hire him again in a heart beat.

Not everyone thinks in same way. In upstate ny he has family. Is money everything in life? It is good that he is near his family and get right affection and he can do a bit soul searching and know right from wrong. It is sad to see that in quest of earning money, quick money people have lost ethics. Hope he spends some good time with family.

He's in New York because Nevada requires parolees to have legit housing and employment. That's hard for someone with two felonies. So Derek was paroled to another state based on family-based employment and housing there. Derek's family did the same thing for him after his first felony parole.

 

On parole Derek can be visited at home or work by unannounced parole officers, his phone can be searched without a warrant, he can be subjected to random drug testing and interviews. He can have a curfew. He can't travel out of his parole jurisdiction without permission.
