I tried again yesterday to post a review on Daddy's site using the form. I still have the same problem I had before, which is that once I've completed the form and click on Submit, a window opens saying that if I navigate away from the site I will lose the info I've just input. The only choices are Cancel and Continue.

I turned off my Firewall. It didn't do any good. It looks like I just won't be able to post any more reviews. Too bad, since I've posted about 15 over the last four years or so.

Does anyone else have the same problem?

Pierrot, I empathize as well as sympathize with you, for I have encountered a similar experience during the past two months. After I have done all of that writing, it's rejected by the message telling me that the web address is off which is pure "royal bullshit!"

When I have written previously, I had not encountered any difficulty. I do remember it took the webmaster a long time to post a review which I'd sent to him months in advance; it finally got printed after someone else had posted a more recent one for the same guy!

I guess I will not be writing about my experiences that I have had with some of the world's finest and thickest of men.

I'd wanted to write reviews for Josh (SF) the guy who has tatoos and piercings and a pa, Steven Draker, and Jake (a masseur) who is from NYC but who now lives in SF.

Pierrot, I sympathize but tech support for the review site isn't handled here. Write to [email protected] for that.

When you do, please include ALL of the details you left out of your post here. Such as:

* Operating system (and service pack level if applicable)

* What browser? (including version)

* You say another window opens. what is it? Another browser window? A dialog? Does it have a title bar and if so what does it say? What is the EXACT wording? (Changing one word can completely change the trouble-shooting steps.)

* What happens when you click continue?

* What are your security settings for daddysreviews.com?

It would help even more if you had screen shots if you're unable to provide details. Nobody can see what's on your screen but you and what you've described does not seem normal.

I truly do sympathize, but to be blunt apparently 4-6 reviews per day DO get through because that's how many get published every day since the site opened. Why does it work for them but not for you?

>it's rejected by the message telling me that the web address is off which is pure "royal bullshit!"

It's not bullshit if you're trying to supply an invalid web address. In fact, it's dead-on accurate. Correct the address and click submit again. <shrug>

An invalid web address is useful to nobody. Why would you want to send that in?

And you haven't provided a full or accurate description of the problem either.

It's like taking your car to the shop and telling the mechanic "it squeals in heavy traffic", and when it comes back you complain "the horn still doesn't work". He probably thought you were talking about the brakes!

Send your description to [email protected] so he can sort out what sort of user is likely to be having this kind of problem and maybe find a solution. But without the details I listed above, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING is known about the problem. He can't solve a problem he can't identify.

How do you take a screen picture? I'll try and send all that to Daddy, because I hate not being able to participate after all this time.

Posted

It depends. What kind of computer do you use? (Do you begin to see how important that information can be? ;-))

On a Windows PC, pressing ALT-PRTSCR puts a copy of the current window on the clipboard. You can then paste it into any graphics program, or even into a Word (or Wordpad) document.

The keystroke is different for a Mac but I remember it involves that funky "splat" key, and I have no idea about Linux.

To take a picture of a scren in Mac OS X

1. For the whole screen--press Command-Shift-3 (The command key is the one with the Apple symbol on it right next to the space key)

2. To take a picture of part of the screen: Command-Shift-4 and drag to select the area you want

Screen shots are saved as files on the desktop

Just click on continue. I know it looks bad but that is the way that I found to get to the next page which will prompt you if you have left any categories out or incorrectly answered a category.

Best regards,

I kept getting the same message the last time I submitted a review, so I contacted Daddy, and sure enough, I had left a space in the web address for the escort--I didn't know that there can be no spaces in a web address.

It doesn't matter if the review get through, it doesn't get published. I submitted a review over 4 months ago. It got approved. I received an email saying it was approved. And I'm still waiting. Yet, since then some escorts have had multiple reviews published.

I've given up submitting reviews.

Unfortunately to go thru all the questions, making sure your Stats-Facts-Contacts are correct...It just turned me totally off to make any more attempts at Review's, with the existing problem's.

I realize it was a "simplier time".. BUT I never had problem's when I submitted a Review with a WEBTV SETUP or til very recently, following all the submission instructions.

I'm guessing though this would only affect the "Newbie's" as far as any Good EXPOSURE is concerned. But some Guy's I have met lately, really aren't interested in being Reviewed anyway! I used to bring the subject up... AFTER THE FACT, but no more!

The Guy's with review's numbering in the 30's or more... is pretty Redundant and actually Funny! What else could be said.."The Guy is getting Older"...

I get all the INFO I need after Review Number 3! LOL :p :P :p

The last 5 reviews I have submitted, have had errors in the confirmation, mainly the placement of "0" in certain categories. Especially rates and cock size. I have submitted the missing information in response to the confirmation and I received a response from Daddy concerning Scott Adler's review and Kyle Foxxx. He inserted some of the missing info in those 2 but not all. In the other reviews I received no response from Daddy and Joey/Philadelphia review that was posted 2 days ago does not have his rates or cock size, even though it was submitted and sent Daddy the info again when it was missing from the confirmation.

I've noted several reviews with missing rates. It is obvious that there are some problems with the review submit form and confirmation process. If the problem is not corrected Daddy will have double duty adding info to reviews or will be posting partial reviews, like Joey's.

The web address was 100% ACCURATE; I used the one that is on the escort's web page; when that went awry surprisingly, I used http://www.daddysreviews.com which was also the website that the escort and other reviewers used!

PRECISELY! I have submitted reviews in the past without encountering any difficulty because I take my time and write carefully and am meticulous in what I am doing!

For the hell of it, now, I might rewrite Josh's review to see if it goes through!

Did you write to Daddy to ask what was wrong? This might surprise you but some people think that http://www.daddysreviews.com is a full, complete, and correct address. It isn't. Not even close.

The browsers everyone uses have extensive code that tries all permutations of adding http:// and www and various other things to make the URL work when you give them an address, but it doesn't make the address you've typed valid.

Daddy does not have a legion of programmers to validate web addresses like the people who write Internet Explorer or Firefox. All he can do is require something that is valid.

The URL you used may well have been wrong. When it gets passed through to the review form, it will still be wrong.

Do you WANT a lot of wrong addresses in reviews?

A BIG Thank-you to Pierrot

Pierrot took the time and effort to write me an email with enough details to track the problem. I've updated the review submit form to fix the problems that were occuring under Internet Explorer 7.0 (Plus we got a bonus that it fixed a problem in IE 6).

Most of the time, if you having problems, the following information will allow me to narrow it down quickly.

[ol]

[li]Operating System and Version[/li]

[li]Which Browser and Version[/li]

[li]What was the exact error message?[/li]

[li]Name/City of the person your was reviewing[/li]

[li]Handle you used to submit[/li]

[/ol]

<Techno Babble>

One of the things we try to do on each and every one of the pages on the Web site is put some HTML code in that tells Web Filters that we contain "Adult" content. The format is a bit mysterious and was causing a Java Script error in the Form Validator.

Firefox and Safari handled the error gracefully and processing was able to continue.

Internet Explorer 7.0 wasn't so graceful and left the form in a strange state. Those that pressed the "Continue" did actually get their review into the database.

I've haven't proven it yet, but I suspect that this was also causing the missing fields problem that others have mentioned.

Thanks for your advice. I did as you suggested and Daddy responded quickly. He believes has solved the problem. I'll have to post another review to see if it's working for me, but he said it was a problem in IE7.

I sent in a review day before yesterday and no problems with the submittal form. I'm using Firefox. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would use any version of IE instead of Firefox (with a few of the great extensions like NoScript and AdBlock.

One reason: it's there.

Another reason: sites tweaked for IE.

People tend to use whatever comes with their computer. Believe it or not, I still bump into AOL users who don't know they can minimize AOL and use any other browser while connected.

And, of course, anyone dealing with Microsoft will sooner or later bump into sites created by them that only partially work or don't work at all with anything but IE. This can be mostly mitigated by using the IETab addin for Firefox but sooner or later that just won't be enough. <sigh>

It's been the bane of web developers for years, particularly for corporate sites subject to ADA. There have been times when I've had as many as six browsers running just to test the site I'm working on. Each release of each browser promises increased compatibility and standards adherence but even after all these years they're not fully "there" yet.

Yeah sadly people do tweak their sites for IE. Lots of problems would go away if people programmed for open standards rather than propietary software products.

Marketing driven closed propietary solutions foisted on us by the likes of Microsoft and Apple is a big reason I decided to stop prostituting myself for the corporate world and begin escorting.
