When the big show comes to Las Vegas, there is an uptick in guys who fly in and advertise that they're available. That's the exciting part. The bummer is the rate they seek is nearly double that of where they flew in from with most all of them, so I don't take the bait.

I like to have an experience that involves us both, not merely paying for their room and watching them watch the clock (been there done that - with a flatter ass, though).

I’ve been in Vegas several times during shows. It’s fun to walk around

looking at all the beef on display. Most of them are narcissistic and

insecure show ponies who get off on the attention. In fact, with so

many of them around, they seem to be even more anxious for

attention than usual.

There is an uptick on RM of muscle....but it’s mostly of the expensive

vanilla muscle worship variety. I can do that for free on the casino

floor. I don't see the point of paying for it.

Muscle worship for free on the casino floor? How does one manage that, I have been to the casinos a few times and it is just mostly average tourists like me!

I’ve considered training to compete just to find out, truthfully. Whatever goes on in this scene isn’t something you’ll have access to by renting. I feel like it requires you to be in the gym and backstage with these boys.

Im quite involved in the bodybuilding scene. I know professional bodybuilders. And I compete myself. I think there's quite a bit of gay-for-pay, but my experience is that gay competitors are pretty rare.

I've been working out at a bodybuilding gym in Santa Clara. Every time I go, I see a good looking young Latin guy-complete beast, personal trainer. Every time he gives me kind of a searching look. I promised myself I'm going to find out more about him.

The physique competitiors just seem so...gay.

Any insight into the bodybuilding scene on the east coast?

No, I only know the west coast scene.

It is odd that straight men go to such lengths with their appearance, but such is the world of competition bodybuilding. There's a huge preoocupation with the "package"- an athlete's total look. They all have snowy-white teeth, perfectly cut hair, perfect skin all over, some hire makeup artists. A lot of them get their trunks and their board shorts custom-made so that they fit perfectly. They have spent hours perfecting their posing routines. They all discuss this stuff openly. Nobody's embarrassed by it.

What I find interesting is that there aren't more gay men in the audience than there usually are. Any contest I've ever been to, I've seen a handful of gay guys in the audience, but that's it.

I don’t find in particularly odd, although I will say the manicuring has gotten increasingly excessive in the last 10 years thanks to Instagram “models,” etc. It is essentially a testosterone pageant.

I lived in south Florida for many years and I do recall seeing a higher number of gays both competing and spectating. Very curious about New York however.

There is too much tipped hair, and I loathe shaped eyebrows on a man - ruins his appearance.

I lucked out once on a trip from Philly to Chicago. Before taking off there were a number of big men in waiting room. When I checked ORD hotel I looked in M4R to look for playmates for the evening. Found Nick German. Pro bodybuilder. Only a few pics still on line. He was in the hotel next door as judge for competition. He said he was off season which meant he had a chest full of blonde hair. While huge, he was not intimidating and very playful. Stayed overtime off clock to relate craziness of BB competitions.

Sorry he retired but one the best one time stands.

Observations like this about guys with great bodies are often driven by jealousy and envy.

Some are, some are right on point. The extremely compulsive body builders do tend to fit the type. It's amazing how they primp and groom in a way rarely associated with males. My #1 is a bb and a stripper with a gf and 2 kids. He spends an hour every other day doing squats for the butt muscles, bleaching between them, and having people feel the cheek cleavage when he flexes. Thankfully he's also a power bottom.

About 50 guys on my Facebook are bbs from Czech and there at least, there's a big crossover between bbs and escorts. How they finance it. Last trip there a bber friend was "shredding" for a competition and he was fine. I like the shredded look a lot.

Beware if you bed one after a competition or show that they shower really, really well. That brown/black spray-on is a killer of white sheets.

I must filter those guys out somehow. The bodybuilders I know are all positive, level-headed guys who happen to look amazing.

It's never happened to me. I take pajamas and a few towels. I sleep in the pajamas to protect the sheets and I cover the pillow with a towel so that the spray tan on my neck doesn't rub off on the pillow case. The minute I get back to the room after the finals, I shower, and dry with my own towels.

I think there are two types. There's the good hobby ones like my #1 who have a full life and there are the obsessive 24/7 ones who seem to have little other life.

I know trainers and coaches who make their living in that world, but they're entrepreneurs and need to stay oriented to the real world. I'm actually toying with the idea of getting a Personal Trainer credential. Not sure what I would do with it, but it seems like a logical first step if I want to make a living at it.

Professional bbers and personal trainers usually aren't the same people. The pro-bbers I know have zero time for anything else, including a job like personal training.

Body builders are still my weakness, I've never gone to a show but i imagine I would be frustrated as hell staring at all that beef and not having my towel and lube handy. It's been tough to find a good body builder hire that rocks my world, but I found him and then he moved away. He was the only guy I wouldn't mind doing the whole muscle worship thing for because he would give up that ass for me any way I wanted. Damn I miss him!!!
