How much stock does one put into RentMen reviews? Has anyone experienced anything questionable after having relied on those reviews? Please share.

I was communicating with a guy with profile on RentMen, using RentMen email to let me see his private pictures. He complied kindly and followed up with a request for a review. This was way before having met, still in checking out the private pictures gallery stage. I explained that it would be improper and declined. This person's profile is chock full of reviews nearly on a daily basis. So, clearly he's gaming the system that has no oversight. I messaged the webmaster asking him to read the emails and act, but no avail.

Email thread as follows with appropriate redactions.

RM guy (Feb 04, 13:28) : Hey wanna meet ? xxx xxxxx

RR (Feb 04, 19:45) : Hello, yes. Thanks for sharing your private gallery. You're a real stud. I will be visiting soon and can't wait to to meet you ...

RM guy (Feb 04, 19:48) : i hope we meet soon.

in the meantime would you mind to rate me 5 star on my reviews? it would help me alot

RR (Feb 04, 19:50) : Umm, how can I rate never having even met you?

RM guy (Feb 04, 19:51) : im asking you to do it.. you dont have to if you dont want too

RR (Feb 04, 19:53) : To rate without meeting, would be spoiling the rating system. Hope you find the help from someone else.

RM guy (Feb 04, 19:55) : hit me up when here ... and then make u spoiling the rating system how that sound? xxx xxx xxxx

see you when you get here

I am reply on reviews for the most part. The quality and quantity to be quite frank.

How much do you rely on the “verified” details on the profile? Photos, ID and such. They seem very easy to obtain by the escort.

Honestly there seems to be so many parts to submitting Rentmen reviews that I feel they are tailored to their paying clientele which is mainly escorts. I know that some clients pay for premium membership but I think that's a smaller percentage since all providers have to pay.

I honestly don't know how they go about verifying everything and to me it is always weird when I see so many 5 star reviews. I feel that we all vary in our preferences and tastes that even the best guys would have at least an occasional rating of 3 or 4 stars.

Obviously this type of review is impossible to verify completely, since it's very subjective and there's no way of actually verifying that a meeting took place. Something like a proof of transaction for example would provide a definite confirmation but alas due to the nature of the business I doubt that such a thing could be asked.

For this reason I feel it should be a free flow for reviewers. So what if there's an asshole that gives you a one star review. If the rest of them are positive, you needn't worry. However if you suddenly receive multiple 1 star reviews from different clients then your business might suffer.

All that said I don't think that it's in Rentmen's interest at all to go through all the trouble to insure that their reviews are reliable. They're currently the leading advertising platform for the escort/massage industry and their primary concern is their revenue and to do whatever makes their paying clients, and again majority of which are escorts, happy. I personally feel it would be best to scratch the reviews altogether since they really don't serve much of a purpose as they are now.

The webmaster at RM relayed to me a while back that if I wanted more information re: any escort who has been reviewed-- send an email to the reviewer. I did this and have been satisfied with the responses from the men who had reviewed "my man/men."

But back in October I saw a 25 year-old cutie who had about 25+ EXCELLENT reviews. I wrote to three or four of those who'd reviewed him. The escort sent me an email requesting that I cease "bothering his clients" in my asking about his time that he'd spent with them. I heard him, but that is all. ...saw him and did not connect and refused to see him in the future. He asked that I not write a review to which I replied that I had NOT planned to, for if I'd had a stellar time with him and would like for others to experience his sexual prowess and expertise-- I'd recommend his services enthusiastically.

My go-to-guy for over a year and a half in SF-- RM.com/Felixxxpapi-- thanked me profusely for my having written two reviews at www.daddysreviews.com. At RM he has a lot of reviews, all genuine, for I know what he gives one. [i write the last sentence because I've contacted others about "my man." Their experiences have been equal to mine.]

But in the end-- remember one's guy's experience might not be as yours.

Ah, indeed! Felix and his twin are a huge credit to San Francisco.

Here is my take on it - most reviews would be more helpful if you knew more about the person writing them. For example, I have sex

I find the person reviewing is the wild card here. For example, I am out, gay, and see nude young guys often SO a massuer will need to do more than just get naked. Make sense?

If the review is written by a really hot dude, a massuer or escort may go further than normal. RM also needs to keep as many guys as possible paying to be on their site - this only really high mark reviews.

In general, I find 3rd party reviews much more helpful!

The problem I have is when you reach out to someone who has left a review for feedback and they don't respond. We need to have each other's back here! I found a recent guy that I was checking out his reviews. I uncovered an identical profile with another name and phone number and reviews that seemed to be self made. You can not trust RM for reviews.

RM "reviews" are a joke. RM verifications are BS too. That site is only good for eye candy, pics and vids.

This is the tone of someone who never hires and exactly the reason why escorts get snappy when clients with good intentions ask for additional photos, content, etc. Because exhibit A likes to go on the site to get his rocks off and boom, disappears. Pornhub is an incredible resource with eye candy, photos and videos, try that.

I have messaged the guys that leave the reviews for the escort... it’s amazing they give a 5 star review and then tell me like 5 things the provider did they didn’t like.. or I get more detail on why they got 5 stars... wish rm was like daddy and gave more feedback. Problem is not many guys on rm will respond to you..

something that might help to know is that RM does allow you to enter some text with your review. this is not viewable to folks in the US, but if you're somewhere else, you can see the text along with the stars, and it can be helpful in figuring out how much you want to believe the reviews. one way to see these comments is to use a VPN which will make it look like you're coming from outside of the US and will allow you to see the associated text. when i look at my reviews, for example, about half of them have comments that help explain why each person chose to rate me as they did.

Waste of my time to enter text as I can’t view it in the US...no point.

“Verified” by RM pretty useless as well

It's not that hard to see them, here is a post with steps:

https://hide.me/en/proxy

Scroll down a bit, enter the url for the provider's review in the "enter web address" box, then click on yellow box "visit anonymously"

May have to click the rentmen privacy agreement a few times.

Thanks @azdr0710

My reviews of the last two providers I posted to RM were rejected because they and I had not communicated with each other through RM's email system. When I told one of the guys (to whom I had promised a positive review, which he richly deserved), he suggested we send a few RM messages back and forth pretending to set up a meeting, then I would submit another review. That one was rejected by RM for being too soon after my previous review. Their rules seem to be both arbitrary and stupid.

I still want to know why we can’t see comments on them.. I know we can sign on to EU site with VPN but just seems stupid we can’t see

I honestly think that every rentmen member both client and escorts should ask rentmen to be sent a list of all the rules for posting reviews. I also think we should all organize a time and date to send it so that they get a message.

I feel that for every escort every 5th review gets posted at best.

Again those reviews are so heavily censored that their reliability index is most likely a negative number.

I've had my eye on flexxxpapi for awhile and finally took the plunge today and met with him. He was fantastic and I had a great time!

I tried to post a review on RM right after seeing someone. I got the same rejection saying I had not communicated through the RM email system. I wrote back to them and said I used the contact number provided instead and then they agreed to publish the review.

I no longer trust any review on RM, and I'm starting to feel the same way about Daddys as well. I recently met an escort, and the meeting actually did happen. We spent two hours together, but the communication was extraordinarily poor. I wanted an hour, but the escort just sat me down on his couch for two hours talking, never made any gesture to go into the bedroom, got tired when I said I was tired, and after my suggestion of getting together for an overnight the following night, just told me that I didn't owe him anything for the meeting.

The meeting definitely took place for two whole hours at his place.

No money was exchanged at all

No massage or sex ever took place.

Escort never responded back after that encounter, and his communication skills were lacking.

When I wrote to RM about what happened with a review, their response was since I didn't communicate through the RM email, they couldn't publish the review. Hello??? How many of you only communicate with someone via their RM email if they have a phone number?? That is one of the poorest forms of communication, so I very seldom use it--especially if there is a phone number associated with the account.

And after writing over 20 reviews on Daddys over the course of the last fifteen years, I no longer feel it's worth my time to write any more reviews there either. I feel like others need to know about poor communication skills, especially if they are putting out money for an escort ahead of time. This guy hadn't had any reviews yet, so I figured I'd give him a review. I figured he had potential, but that this review may help him to develop his career into one that the most professional respected guys on this site have. One of my friends was going to fly down and put a $375 airline ticket to see this guy, but after telling him my experience with this guy, he felt he was risking too much money to see him if he suddenly went off radar. So I wrote the review, and took over 1 1/2 hours of my precious time to write my review. Most of my reviews on the site have been favorable, but this one shared the experience of this guy that I felt needed to be shared to the world to warn others. It wasn't a nasty review, but a very detailed review of the 2 hours I spent with him. The next day, I get a reply stating "Per the FAQ, I tend to hold "No Show" reviews. Since when was this a "no-show" review?? I met him at his place, we talked, and I left. Nothing sexual ever took place, nor did money ever get exchanged, but a meeting definitely took place. Having wasted my time writing it, and not breaking ANY rules on writing the reviews changed my attitude now. I feel like why should I waste my time writing ANY review any more, as the review could get kicked back for no viable reason whatsoever.
