I was looking at the recently opened thread about Viagra an Poppers combined trying to find an answer to my question but I didn't, so I open this waiting for some advice.

I am a healthy man in my 40's and I have never tried poppers. I guess I must be one of the few gay man who didn't but here I am!

I have sex regularly, I am usually pretty vanilla and safe, meaning that I am not into raunchy, kinky, leather and stuff.

I enjoy topping and I have always enjoyed bottoming, even if almost always (more now) I have to go through an initial painful process when someone's dick enters my manhole...

Usually some fingering and rimming helps out a bit, but most of the times it really hurts to the point that I often avoid bottoming even if I am really in the mental mood for that.

And for some reason when I hire I really like the idea of hiring a top, but I am always a bit afraid of THAT moment.

Someone suggested me to try poppers in order to avoid that very unconfortable moment of the 3-4 times trying to take it clunching my teeth from the pain.

I am a little resistant at the idea of a chemical in my body to have sex, but if someone could take the time to really help me out with this I would be very happy!

Is it worthy trying?

A potential happy bottom.

Poppers tend to loosen inhibitions and thereby make one relax briefly, but they also have unpleasant side effects for many people, in particular headaches. I wouldn't use them for the first time with someone new, especially if you are paying for the experience. Experiment on your own using poppers and a dildo, to see if they reduce the pain of entry.

Poppers

Hey man!

To answer your question directly, I would say that yes, poppers could potentialy reduce the pain from the first insertion. Poppers have the effect of opening your blood vessels and temporarily relaxing your sphincters, one of which is the tight ring trying to impeed that cock from entering your body.

Now, speaking of side-effects, you have to check with your doctor. If you have a tendency to having low blood pressure, you should avoid poppers at all costs. If you on top of that are taking drugs that either thin the blood or lower your blood pressure (ie: viagra, cialis, beta blockers) then the combination of poppers and those drugs is feared to be fatal. Again, find a doctor that you trust fully and talk with him about it.

The original thing known as poppers in the seventies is Amyl Nitrite, a substance used to treat a heart condition. However, since it was thought to lower people's immune systems and was blamed for the AIDS pandemy in the eighties it has been banned from most of North America. What you can find easily is various different types of nitrites, namely alkyl nitrites, isobutyl nitrite, butyl nitrite, which have the same effect of blood vessels and sphincter relaxing, but also can create huge headhaches, nausea, dizzynes.

Now, many studies have been done since the ban, and besides the bias ones made by the proponents of the theory of poppers causing aids, there has been no conclusive evidence to prove this. The only fact that was proved is that during the poppers rush people sometimes overlook necessary safety precautions putting themselves in danger of contracting something. The chemical itself does nothing but -potentially- bake a few brain cells, and open your blood vessels and your ass.

I have been told that there are certain poppers in the market claiming to be Amyl Nitrite, but in fact they are not. Since they are basically illegal, there is no way to regulate and control quality.

If you decide to try out poppers, try to buy the best brand you can find. A small difference in price will make a HUGE difference in headache. Take a small little whiff at first, and see how your body reacts, and discontinue inmediately if you feel as if you are going to pass out. For some people the effects are totally overwhelming and it takes a few times trying them for them to fully appreciate the rush.

However, I would like to adress what in my mind seems to be the real issue. If you are using enough lubricant, if you are being patient, using fingers first, then dildoes, or being patient with a cock, and if you have practice doing so, there is no reason for which you should be experimenting pain at all. I would strongly recommend you to go to your proctologyst to get a check up. You might have little tears in your anal linning known as fisures creating the pain. They can be easily treated, and the pain during anal sex will dissapear entirely. There is no reason for which you should endure unecessary pain.

I hope this is helpful. And I hope that you do get yourself looked at by a professional. (No, not an escort, a Doctor! :p ) Everybody should have a constitutional right to pleasurable, easy, fulfilling anal sex!

RE: Poppers

The possibility of having a relaxed hole by using poppers, in conjunctgion with Viagra, Clialis, etc., is very risky business as nitrates (poppers)and such RX drugs DO NOT MIX well! Personally, based upon what I've read, and what both the medical profession and the manufacturers of the drugs have to say, it is a much greater risk than I should think one would want to take.

Take Juan's advice on how else to losen up that hole!

RE: Poppers

Thanks everybody for the replies, especially to Juan.

Looking at Juan's pictures, I guess I should try poppers if I decide to take his FAT cock!}(

I definitely think it's more a menthal problem of me not being able usually to fully relax. I don't take any Viagra, Cialis etc, so Ithere is no risk of interaction for me.

But I have to say that in the past when I tried pot or hashish (not with sex and not many times) it happened a couple of times to have bad reactions, so actually I am a little afraid that I could have bizarre reactions to poppers, from what I read. I must be oversensitive to drugs.

Anyway, yesterday evening I met a guy through gaydar and went to his place.

He helped me to relax (no dildo or fingers, just the right words, right lube and attitude) and he entered with VERY LITTLE pain, after which it was absolute heaven.

It's enough to say that I came buckets on my chest after few poundings without touching myself!:p

RE: Poppers

Hi:

Juan's advice is excellent. There are some other methods to try before doing poppers and if doing poppers be aware that they can be dangerous. There is a new product from europe that is supposed to help with getting fucked called analease. I have read some reviews from UK sites and they have positive things to say. In USA it can be bought at forttroff.com Forttroff also carrys a variety of higher grade poppers although they can be pricey. Checck out picturebritecorp.com for "English" brand of poppers. These are supposed to be good and picturebrite is less expensive.

I justt ordered the analease from forttroff and plan on trying this w/e. (Hopefully)

The Anus' advocate...

Hey Tim.

I am the self-appointed best friend of your ass and I feel that I have the obligation to speak on its behalf. :9 (Okay I have to focus not to get a boner before I make my point, so I will keep it short.)

God in all His wisdom created a tool to prevent Us, big pigs, to be greedy and indulge eyes much bigger than our hunger. (Or abilities.) Pain has been put there to tell us that something is wrong and that we have to stop inmediately. Pain is there to remind us that we need more lube, more patience, deeper breathing, more relaxation, or all the above. And ultimately, pain, if we listen to it and heed its call, will ensure us a delightfully pleasurable anal experience as soon as we find a way to have the experience without it. (Painlessly, that is.)

The proctologyst's advice is simple: NEVER use ANYTHING that numbs your anus. Surely you would be able to take that cock, or that fist or that monster dildo without noticing, but if you damage the oh, so tender lining of your insides you might end up with fisures that might prevent you from taking anything (even a normal sized dump) without the most excruciating pain... for many months... sometimes years. (And sometimes it is so bad that people need surgery in their most delicate, tender, oh, so soft parts to get things back to normal.)

Xafnndapp has shared with us the infallible formula that -always- works: Patience, good atittude, willingness, and a partner that you trust, and your body will open faster than if you were saying "Open Sesame!" }( :9 :p :-)

Be good to yourself. Respect pain and thus ensure a long, fulfilling, pleasurable sexual sodomitical life.

Breath, trust, slow down and open up!

RE: The Anus' advocate...

As usual, Juan has just dispensed the ultimate wisdom. Always listen to your body. Pain is nature's way of telling you you are not doing something right or there is a problem that you should not just mask with chemical stimulants. Dr. Juan has just the right prescription! :p

The Anus' advocate... (Re-loaded)

Apparently I was so entranced trying to speak up on behalf of your most tender parts, that I forgot to mention something that would make my post understandable.

I received a couple of mails asking for clarification, so here it goes:

Analease, and other products in the market geared to help people to deal with discomfort during anal sex are nothing but topical anesthetics, which means that they only kill the pain. They don't have any other effect; they do not relax the ass, they don't make it more flexible, they only block the pain so you don't contract your sphincter further because of the pain.

Poppers are the only thing that do have a temporary relaxing effect on your sphincter, but we have talked a lot about the side effects and the contraindications.

So there. Save your ass, honour the pain.

Happy opening up, gentlemen! :9

RE: The Anus' advocate... (Re-loaded)

Today I received two bottles of "Man Heat" from http://www.PopperMart.com, and men it's the BEST stuff since I have been using today's variety. These poppers give one the feeling similarly to amyl nite.

If you are into using poppers at times as I, I'd definitely recommend your procuring "Man Heat" from the firm as mentioned above. If you have another source, that's all right, too! :-)

REMEMBER: The use of poppers and viagra or any other some such DO NOT MIX! DON't use together!!!!!!!! :-(

Now you tell me! I just got off the flight from Amsterdam only to see that I got the round bottle. Damn customs guys didn't say a thing, either.

I would strongly discourage combining poppers and Viagra or other PDE2 inhibitors. They are both vasodilators. When another vasodilator (nitrates) and Viagra are combined, the result can be fatal.

To the preceding writer, we've already alerted folks about combining poppers and viagra or such! But I'd guess we can thank you for your reiterating of!

I also want to thank Steven publicly for his recommendation that he sent to me via a private email. Excuse my forgetfulness, please! Axiom
