On the radio I heard some advocate moving Halloween to a Saturday so children won't trick-or-treat on a school night.

Sounds good to me!

You risk many people not being home on a Saturday night.

Maybe it could be moved to earlier in the day while the Sun is still up.

Leave it the way it is... please it doesn't bother the kids.

Btw will you give candy? You have to ask your landlord to buy some if you do.

Better to trick or treat in the evening, especially if you live in a city. When we were barely teens, in the last few years of doing so, we would go into the bars and get bags of chips, or the big candy bars from the bartender, and if a neighbor recognized us, possibly get a dollar bill if they were feeling good.

Makes as much sense as moving Ascension Thursday to Sunday!

Kipp

I agree. That said, am I the only one who delights in the juxtaposition of the ascension of the Christian God’s son and the day named after a Pagan god and a Roman god?

Funny you should say that because in Luke's Gospel (Chapter 24) Jesus does IN FACT ascend into heaven on Easter Sunday. So, at least one Gospel writer did move Ascension Thursday to Sunday!!!
