I met Ryan on Feb 27 and had a very nice time. I had no issues with communication or anything else. I definitely didn't get any sense of the issues noted above in the comms leading up to our meeting.

I'm far from being a Millennial (turning 54 in ten days) and absolutely despise talking on the phone. Would rather text and email. As of the time this posting, this provider had 21 5-star reviews associated with his rentmen profile. 12 of those reviews included comments singing his praises. This, from my perspective, is an extreme illustration of how poor of an indicator rentmen reviews are of the quality of a potential experience with a provider. Thank goodness for this site. I have to say that this site has now become my primary provider vetting tool.

I spent some quality time in a psych facility as a teenager, and his dour expression brought back memories of some angry kids I met there. Hadn't heard of the guy before but was surprised when I clicked his profile. Dominant top? Looks like a juvenile delinquent. And girl, please -- that ain't eight inches.

 

The text of the profile is decent, so maybe he as a good side in between tantrums. In the provider's defense, I noticed this clearly stated: "Texting is the best way to reach me. Please don't be a time waster when doing so. Being concise and direct helps the chances of us meeting." Someone with more hiring experience might have picked up on that right away. Of course, that doesn't excuse the overreaction and abusive language.

 

I think it's great that the OP is trying something new and hope he won't be discouraged. There are plenty of other fish in Lake Michigan.

As you can see, I'm saying that I would rather text and email than talk on the phone much like Millennials who communicate using the same methods. Based on my understanding of the word "relate" it would seem that communicating using the escort's preferred method would constitute relating to him. That being said, even though he resorted to ranting on the potential client I would not rant on the escort. That type of behavior does not constitute "relating" to someone. It is simply rude.

My point was NOT about you... it was about millennials, who in general prefer texts above all other forms of communication. In fact, surveys find Millennials often engage in multiple texting dialogues at one time. They are impatient with adults who don’t fully comprehend their responses, too. You asked him for his number after he referred you to the number in his ad.

 

To claim an affinity with millennials regarding your communications, you’d need to multitask your dialogues while conversing via text with said escort.

 

You know nothing about his ongoing dialogues, just that you took offense and pursued your conversation in real time while he was probably otherwise engaged, and with a lot of drama in the other convos.

 

But everything is from your perspective. You only judged him by his immediate response to you, which you possibly demanded.

While he did say he prefers not to talk on the phone, his ultimate reaction is unhinged and I would avoid this kid and move on. You never know what’s going on “behind the curtain” and this gives us just a little glimpse.....

You're going to meet in person someone you've never met before. Then you're going to be alone with them, and perhaps often vulnerable during the session. No sane person should do that after a text exchange remotely like the original poster shared. Heck, after reading this post, I'd never go near Ryan North. I've been fortunate to never have been in a violent encounter with anyone in my life. Even when I was robbed in my 20's it was over quickly and I wasn't injured.
