I was in the process of reactivating my RM ad with the plan to start traveling and visiting new areas and then I saw that they are now requesting an ID for verification. For obvious reasons, I don’t feel quite comfortable with the idea of sending a picture of my license or passport. Is this something that’s required, and has anyone else not provided an ID and been able to maintain your account??

Ah, that is why some guys have the flag “Id verified”, yet are clearly not the guy in the pictures.

 

Interesting, because if they look young, even if RM gives them the “id verified” tag, it means nothing and we should check their age on their id ourselves.

From @Killian The process will be simple. E-mail a scan or picture of a government issued ID along with a CLEAR SELFIE holding up a phrase written on a piece of paper. This is how EROS, the leading escort website in the world verifies escorts. Is it fool proof? It's pretty darn close and a huge step in the right direction for protecting not only escorts but protecting the premium clients of rentmen. I would want to know it was destroyed after a while but doubt they would agree. A trick could be to put the ID pic on another site and send a link to it or better an "insert image" option. Then take it down on the link in a few days. Rentmen isn't so dangerous because it's in Europe and all it's servers are out of the US.

As a returning premier client, I was asked the same and I did... can’t have it any other way I guess....and yes you have to have your ID, credit card and a statement that says you authorise RM to debit your account by $ to return to wonderland lol... ID and Card places side by side on a clear paper with your statement and signature ...weird indeed

How can you guarantee any information you provide via the web or app on your mobile device isn’t in the hands of local authorities or in a gov’t database? If they needed to access that info, they certainly could. I wouldn’t obsess. You have less security/privacy in more places than you think...unbeknownst to you.

Authorities need a name and birthdate to run the database query.

Quick question: Was that process required when you renewed your premium membership or when sponsoring an escort's ad (which includes a premium membership). I'm asking because that step was required when I sponsored an ad but not when I simply renewed my membership.

 

My guess that is a way of avoiding a chargeback, much like the olden-days requirement that you sign a charge slip when using a credit card and the merchant retaining it for a period of time.

...I have only used my passport card 1 time. But I pretty much use it as my regular ID, and my driver’s license for car stuff.

 

Why? Other than using it to verify my ID on Rentmen and RentMasseur, I don’t like when I’m in a new state, and someone says, “oh WOW you live in (insert state of my license). My cousin’s husband’s nephew’s brother’s uncle just moved there too!

 

But I also get tired of simple, basic, never traveled anywhere people grilling my passport card like a pork chop and as if it’s a not a real government form of ID. Like BITCH, do you have any idea how much paperwork I had to fill out to get this thing????

I had to explain to a colleague that when we list a Federal Government ID as an acceptable form of ID we are not referring to an employee ID card and instead are referring to a Global Entry card and an identification card issued by a national government, such as Germany or Poland. She was all set to challenge me when one of our Sanctions folks stepped in and agreed with me.

April 2018 In that law which is a new law of its own kind has now made 1st party website owners where responsible for 3rd party usership. So this means the websites have to police their own websites to make sure that they don't get trouble. This is how I took how that law was meant to be seen. But to the question of showing IDI don't think you got too much to worry about. The best thing that I can give you as advice is to make sure all your social media platforms have blocks in place for such travesties.Aswell as remember they cant arrest anyone who just puts up a advertisement right. I've always been known for being tight lipped on the telephone and by text, know and understand the game that you're in and watch your back the best way that you can .
