I am planning a trip to dive into the Afrobrazilian culture (and some asses). I have not yet booked anything but my research is advance. It looks like this hotel is a strong candidate:

It is close to Praia Da Barra, and I would keep the budget for flight and hotel below 2,200. Any suggestions for a better hotel? Any good or bad experiences in this hotel?

the "Street Cafe" description of the food is great! I wonder if I could get a long term deal there and become a beach bum.

It is booked. And I am not paying the cancellation insurance, the trip will happen.

My hotel is across Praia Da Barra. I have never been there before, but I understand is the gayest area of the city.
