July 20 1969 if you are the earth. 48 years ago today, man first stepped onto the surface of the moon. I mentioned this to someone today and they said something to the effect of "I don't think so"

I expected the usual "the moon landing was faked" line but instead he said" "We have been to the moon many times before that, but this is the first time the governments were willing to admit it.

So what about you? Did you have men all over your moon many times before you admitted it?

I remember watching it with my grandmother. I was hoping that by the year 2000 there would have been a base on the moon and a manned mission to Mars.

The shuttles did nothing for me.

I was watching a stage production of You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown which I'd won for doing well on a math contest in my Senior Year in High School.

They broke the performance to announce that we'd just landed on the Moon.

It was on my dad’s birthday (I visited him this morning) I was at the Boy Scout Jamboree in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho with about 35k other scouts! The astronauts talked to us via radio from the moon surface at our campfire the next day.....

Eugene Andrew Cernan was the last man to touch the moon on December 11, 1972. Now if you had asked me about the last woman on the surface of the moon, I'd have to put on sunglasses and flash my pen at you.

I stayed up all night (9 years old! :) ) with my father & watched the landing, on our black & white TV. I still remember the local station was playing "First Men in the Moon", that starts out with astronauts landing on the moon and finding evidence of a previous trip there.
