Nob Hill Theatre to close in August

I think this is the gayest thing I've ever seen! I wouldn't want to be the one trying to clean those theater seats!

This kind of thing isn't new and it's certainly not going away as long as the space is worth something.

 

The Gaiety NYC closed in 2005: I still have odd dreams about that mylar curtain.

 

You ain’t the Lone Ranger @Benjamin_Nicholas. Neo, Drako, Trevor, Tony Mecelli when he was a youngster who took the bus down from Hartford. I can remember when of an evening it was a choice between reruns of Laverne and Shirley or a bit of titillation. Ah the Gaiety of blessed memory.

Ah...Tony Mecelli! I had a mad crush on him at one time. I was never able to connect with him but we talked on the phone a time or two. One of the nicest guys ever!

One last trip to the Nob Hill Theatre this weekend. Very friendly staff and mixed bag of dancers, just like always. I'll miss this place on my SF visits. Hoping Adonis or something similar pops up in SF.

wow, a San Francisco institution.....I read the article and the writer very shrewdly summarized Gump's's predicament by quoting a customer's lament in the article's last sentence:

 

"Where else will I get my Christmas ornaments?”

Me too. Lots of amazing scenes there, including their hot quarterly 20-man show. Memories!

That's kind of what I thought when I heard about Pee Wee Herman getting arrested for jerking off in a porn theatre. Other than the cleaning staff, wasn't that a victimless crime?

I read an interview with Cindi Lauper from that time. She's was asked to comment on the Pee Wee controversy. She said something along the lines of "you know there's a summit happening in Moscow right now" … perspective. I love Cindi Lauper
