  1. Spoilage can be a big issue when cooking for one. If you don't have salt restrictions you might consider quick pickling some of your excess produce. This simple technique can extend the life of many variables by 2 or more weeks. No special equipment needed. Just save some jars. Some of my favorites include summer squash, green beans, cauliflower, red onions and peppers. Check it out on line if you like. Cheers
  2. @Avalon Very true. Sadly, while I may qualify as a dowager empress (I'm a bit past the queen stage) I've not yet risen to the level of having vassels to do my dirty work.
  3. @Epigonos, no offense taken. We all have trigger words. And, honestly, at this time of year I do experience a bit of new parent pride when I see the harvest. So, while not exactly cute, the piles of onions, potatoes, jars of tomatoes and pickled veg, etc are as beautiful to me as a newborn.
  4. @Avalon, much of the time spent hunting is hunched in a blind (think small shack or lean to) in predawn damp awaiting sunrise. Then waiting, hoping game will wander by. Haha
  5. Perhaps this will help overcome the cute image. Imagine grubbing in a half acre of field rows in 90+ degree weather day after day. It isn't cute by any means. What a person looks like after 5-6 hours of doing so isn't cute. So, I'll continue to use the term veggies as it has no cute connotations for me.
  6. Nice! This season we've put up over 90 quarts of tomato product (whole, sauce & juice). Today I'll be packing and freezing sliced sweet peppers. Never tried artichokes. While I like them I don't feel like they produce enough food for the space they need. Maybe I'm wrong?
  7. So, I'm part of a very small, private, farm collective. Basically, labor for food. This year we've had great results with everything except corn. Racoons and possums attacked the stalks. Anyway, I've been feasting on fresh veggies and wondered what fresh veggies you love?
  8. 65 cents could be interest earned. Yes, the IRS pays interest in certain cases .
  9. Hmm. My guess is that the IRS found a math error. If the return was done by hand I would put money on the Social Security worksheet or additional exemption for age. Looking forward to hearing what the issue was .
  10. First, take care of your health, both physical and emotional. Second, while it may seem impossible, get some distance from your family. It's hard, I know, I had to do it. Third, become skilled in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, etc.). Check with your local library, they may offer free classes. Community colleges may also have affordable classes. Temporary positions often lead to full time employment. Best wishes to you.
  11. Unlike the 50/50 glass, I tend to be a 65/35 full to empty type.
  12. Um, I respectfully disagree with the video.
  13. Andrew Stark. He's handsome, funny, talented and seems equally comfortable being fun and fierce in the sack .
  14. Don't forget to get the app that tracks your non passenger miles between pick ups. I think one of them is strider. Not sure if the spelling. Mileage between rides is deductable as an expense.
  15. Yup .One of my uncles lived on a dairy farm .We summered there a few times. Chores did not recognize summer vacation. Ha

Wonder if he's looking for a green card hubby? If so, I'm first in line .
  24. Though he's in his 20s he has great technique. Didn't rush, great eye contact, hot kissing and we avoided doggy. It's really my inability to last long enough for him to cum. Sigh
  25. National Anthem? Hmm, Star Spangled Banner or God Save the Queen?
