This is my preferred method as well.

As a former stage performer my height, or lack there of, limited the roles I got. On a level it was frustrating to never have the opportunity to break out of the “side kick” or secondary roles. In one production I was actually asked to alter my singing as it made the lead sound bad. (That production failed beautifully.) I came to realize that I had a niche and worked steadily, making the best of my assets. Casting people knew my skill set and work ethic and hired me knowing I would deliver a much bigger performance than my appearance would suggest. I’ll never know the intoxicating thrill of grabbing something from the uppermost shelf without a step stool, but I know how to rock said step stool. 😃

My gut says “Watch out!” 😉
