What was the most memorable unexpected one you experienced?

I dont really wish to "pile on". But I have to agree with Mr. Nicholas. Merely because this is not your career doesn't mean that you can't be business like about it. If you want to meet, say "yes" and follow through. If you dont want to meet say "no". It really isn't that hard.
I had an experience similar to Harlow's with Hogan. I too contacted him two to three weeks in advance to arrange to meet him for an overnight in Dallas. I also made it quite clear that I was traveling to Dallas expressly to meet up with him. Initially we arranged to meet at about 7 pm so that we could have a nice dinner then an evening of fun. At about 4 pm he informed me that he had other plans which he had forgotten about and couldn't meet until about 10:30. I was not happy, but agreed nonetheless. At 9 pm he texted me and informed me that he couldn't meet up at all that night, but we could meet early the next morning. Again, not happy but we arranged to meet at 8 am the following day. I gave him all of the info regarding the hotel in which I was staying. As one would guess, 8 am came and went with no contact from him and no response to my texts. At about 9:30 am he texted me telling me that he had been waiting in the lobby of the hotel, tried to contact me but received no response. So, he left. Clearly bullshit, but by that point I was tired of dealing with him. So, I simply agreed that things did not work out and wished him luck.
He may be beautiful, but when I see his profile I now regard it as I would one of the many "European fakes" that appear on RM.......way too good to be true. Unlike the RM scammers he may be real, but if you can never actually meet him, then what is the difference?

Happy for those who actually met with Grant and had a decent session — I consider them lucky that things worked out.
 
Grant aka Hogan has very mixed reviews on this forum with several instances of flaking on client appointments and horrible communication skills. I’m glad I found the info on forum as I have tried setting up massage appointment with him twice with no luck — his text replies are very minimal and can be days apart, that’s if he ever replies. Not a way to conduct a business!
 
Between him and his buddy ?boyfriend? ?roommate? DTXSeanCharlie they have changed their individual RentMasseur ads several times in the past month, changing their stories/background and other info, red flags for me. Also added a four-handed ad on RentMasseur claiming years of experience — yet Grant hasn’t even been doing massage for 6 months and Sean’s original ad claimed he had 2 years of experience.

I’ve done it several times. I even ask them advice on how to do it properly. I’d say that if they do erotic/sensual is very likely that they’ll agree. Just ask them. Is not that uncommon based on my experience.

Rates can vary greatly in all markets. It frequently comes down to what the traffic will bear. New escorts, in particular, often have little idea of what is the market rate in their location thus they may offer a very high rate. If they get it that's great for them. If they don't and they what to be successful as an escort they lower their rate. When I first stated hiring in 2002 the hourly rates, in the L.A. area, were somewhere between $200 and $250 with discounts for multiple hours. I usually expected to pay between $400 and $500 for a three hour get together which included lunch or dinner. The hourly rates slowly increased to between $250 and $300 with lots of guy available at the lower rate. At that time I was generally paying $500 for the three hours with a meal included. Currently I find that most escorts here are asking $300 and hour and $600 to $700 for the three hour gig. As both escort fees and my age have increased I am finding that I'm hiring less and less. Oh well that's life which includes both fee and age inflation

Outside of a spa this is my philosophy as well. To freelance providers I let them know what I am looking for and they can name their price. If it meets expectations or goes above I’ll usually add another $20 or so but nothing dramatically over the agreed price.
 
In a legit spa setting 20-25% assuming great service.
 
NYC style spas I think it’s customary to leave upwards of 100% as the masseur generally only makes tips and the cost of the massage is generally very low.

I'll just add that masseurs in spas get 30% of what we pay. Our tips are important to them. On a $60 massage, I tip $40 if it was OK. If it was very good, I tip $60 .. And I don't consider myself all THAT generous.
"Private" masseurs are something else. Many don't tip, including me. Their stated price is it, and it's high enough. If some 21 year-old kid is just starting out, and charges $100, I'll usually give him $20 extra the first time.
