Yes you're absolutely right! I remember on my first trip to Israel right out of high school in early 1980, Israelis used to talk about the Oriental culture and Oriental food etc... At first I was confused because being from the USA growing up in the 60's/70's for me the Orent was a lot further east. Then I remembered it's how the British referred to anything east of the Mediterranean basin historically. Today Israel has lost its old European Jewish flavor and instead the terms Middle Eastern or Arabic/Israeli are used in place of Oriental.

Many of them since you want to nitpick. A lot of people with money now live all over Asia. Some still think of Asia being impoverished but many very wealthy live in places like Singapore, Malaysia, China, Korea, Brunei and other countries. 🙄

Yes it is but few in North America use it for lack a geographical knowledge.

India is Southeast Asia. Asia is huge and I was referring to east Asia, what used to be referred to as "the Orient" which is no longer PC in the USA to call it such since younger generations looking to be offended and slighted by something jumped on the bandwagon and decided "oriental" was offensive. 🙄

I don't doubt that some Bollywood actors on their early rise to fame might agree to a discreet "Meet & Greet" while having a polite cup of tea with a fan of some means. But for that to transition to the fans bedroom so he can perform a naked bhangra in and around the bed might not be his understanding of "meeting" with a fan. It's probably happens, but for it to be "not uncommon" I wouldn't be so sure. We'd probably would have heard a lot more whispers about it since $1-5K USD is not really all that much for a very wealthy person especially with the Gulf States and EAST Asia so close by. In the west somebody who regularly hires at $350 per hr, 1k+ would be like an overnight or a weekend on the higher end of 5k! Mumbai would be commonplace "sex tourism" for wealthy gay/bi men. Now if the "fan" were a director, a producer or could influence his career then that would be a completely different story. That happens all the time everywhere! In the west female actresses once achieving fame and wealth, and unsuccessful or washed-up male actors are calling it #metoo now.
