The photo on the left in this post is of 19-year-old sailor Homer Baker, who served aboard the USS New Jersey, and was arrested in 1908 along with sailor Thomas Keene, also from the New Jersey for sodomy. Baker and Keene were both convicted and sentenced to prison time. Baker received 6 years, but only served 4, and Keene served nearly 6.5 years of a 10-year sentence. They both served their time in San Quentin. Nothing else is known of them unfortunately. "Lest we forget!"
