I had the pleasure of visiting Rico recently and was astonished by what a demi-god he is! Quite the opposite of what usually happens - the pics in his gallery actually don't do him justice.  He's more ripped than even those make him look - his body felt like a brick wall.  Solid muscle. And as I wrote in the "hung masseurs of nyc" thread, he's hung huuuugee.  Probably the biggest I've seen in person. 

He was very business-like during the communication, and that professionalism continued throughout the session. Super nice apartment, very respectful and wanted to be sure the experience was enjoyable. Very good massage technique as well. 

He is pricey, and does ask for a deposit from those he has not met before, but will take last minute walk-ins if he has an opening.  

I have only seen a handful of private masseurs here in NYC, but of those I've been with, he is just at a different level. If you'll excuse the Olympics language... he certainly wins the Gold in the "all around" category.

Jose’s profiles are down at the moment but if anyone has updated info or new links, I hope they decide to share with us. I did hear he might be returning to Hush, but who knows.

Fabio, and none have compared to him other than Jose. I’m looking for someone to enter the race so I can have a top 3 though.

I had a session with him right before COVID started and his massage skills were garbage and there was nothing extra. Not worth the price and not worth repeating.

Just got in from Spa Castle, and for anyone interested, not much has changed post-COVID. They don’t provide uniforms or robes at the moment, the relaxation room is closed, and the showers in the men’s nude area are spaced out to promote 6 feet of distance. The salad bar is closed (for obvious reasons) but everything else (steam room antics) is the same. In fact, the steam room got quite .. uh .. messy .. today. 😂

If anyone’s curious, this is the same Fabio who is now at Hush Spa (Manhattan). I’ve had the pleasure of having a session (body scrub & lomi lomi) with him at the spa, so if you want the butt naked details, you know what to do.

Otherwise, I’d HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend him. He surpasses Jose in every single way.

I know a few forum members who’ve said they tip 100% when they leave happy. But me personally, I usually just go with $50-$100, depending on the service(s). Although I’ve yet to tip more than $100, I’m not opposed to it if the service (extra shit included) is immaculate.

Just a heads up to all my NYC folks (and potential visitors), the owner of Shangrila is now opening up a new spa in Midtown West, called Alpha Men’s Spa, which is slated to open on the 10th. No word of who the masseur’s are yet, but if anyone is interested, then .. https://www.alphaspanyc.com

I personally just go with $50-$100 each time, and even more depending on the service and the vibe with the masseur. I went to a very popular spa (that people on here rave about) and got a very mediocre massage with very mechanical extras that I stopped half way through, so I only tipped $20 that day. The masseur wasn’t happy BUT neither was I with the service I received, so oop.

I’d still recommend Hush in Manhattan for grooming services, among other things.

If I’m not mistaken, there’s another thread about him. The reviews (if you decide to trust them) are mostly good though. I heard he upped his prices recently though, so tread carefully.

Don’t bother with Sojo. While it’s basically the updated, more modern/slightly futuristic and upscale version of Spa Castle and King Sauna, don’t expect any eye candy. Their men’s only area is clothing “optional” and a majority of the men there prefer to stay clothed. It’s only the old, fat guys who choose to go naked.

As for Spa Castle, they’re back to regular operations. The normal antics in the steam room. That didn’t really change, even while the steam rooms were closed.
