  5. I assume so. That's a barrier to entry for potential providers, which would drive up the cost for those who do chose to do it. Kevin Slater
  6. Any sole proprietor pays self-employment tax, which means social security and medicare. Kevin Slater
  7. There's already a Slater in NYC. This be my corner, bitch! Kevin Slater
  8. The Tree has legs. http://images.thepostgame.com/sites/default/files/Stanford-Tree-Mascot-Monday.jpg As would I. In brief, Leland Stanford Senior was part of the Big Four who build the first transcontinental railroad, ahem, allegedly swindling the federal government in doing so. When the university dropped the Fighting Indians mascot and polled the student body, the Stanford Robber Barons was by far the favorite. He closely resembled Rich Uncle Pennybags of Monopoly fame. The university declined and has been without a mascot ever since. Kevin Slater
  9. Yup. The Tree. Kevin Slater
  10. The Tree is the mascot of the Leland Stanford Junior (pause) University Marching Band. The university has no mascot. Kevin Slater Class of '92
  11. Exclusively. My hearing has always sucked, so I find it frustrating to watch even American shows without subtitles. Kevin Slater
  12. Waimea Canyon is one of the most gorgeous spots on the planet, nicknamed the Grand Canyon of the Pacific (insert bottoming joke here). Absolutely check it out, and stop by JoJo's shave ice on the way. We rented a condo with a washer / dryer and were glad we did as this is (or at least can be) a more active / muddy vacation than on the other islands: dune buggies, horses, hikes, catamarans, etc. And as cheesy as it sounds, the luau was actually a lot of fun, including cheap booze and hula demonstration. Gay life is pretty non-existent so I'm glad you're bringing your own. Kevin Slater
  13. On top of the field where you're typing the message, there's an icon that looks like a piece of chain. Highlight the text you want to turn into a link, hit said icon, and type in (or paste) the URL in the box that pops up. Kevin Slater
  14. For a while, he was considered the richest person in the world, if memory serves. Kevin Slater
  15. Each time I read this post's header, I just keep hearing the Three's Company theme song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chE0nqBoe-g. Kevin Slater
  16. You can save a few bucks getting the same active ingredient marketed as Orajel (tooth numbing gel). Both are simply Benzocaine. Kevin Slater
  17. It may be helpful to mention what city you're in or near. Kevin Slater
  18. I hear folk used to do that in the bad old days in NYC: carry an old wallet stuffed full of ones and expired credit cards. It's not like the mugger is going to inspect the contents thoroughly before scampering off. Kevin Slater
  19. Never dawned on me that Gaiety dancers would be sucking the clientele's cocks. Kevin Slater
  20. Please note that donations via rentmen (by which I assume you mean the site's "send a membership gift" option) is highly inefficient. Rentmen charges you more than the escort would pay for the ad (and depending on what rate he has locked in, sometimes much more). But you are right, it does show that you're serious. Might I suggest an amazon e-gift card sent to his email address instead? Or to my email address? Kevin Slater

  22. That's why it's easier just to call everyone 'asshole'. Kevin Slater
  23. Just to be clear: you're sorta too shy to reach out to him, but not to shy to pronounce how he should be doing his job. Perhaps he prefers profiles with information. But I'm sure the collective wisdom of the board knows better than any stoopid hooker does. Kevin Slater
  24. So I'm looking to rent a car for an upcoming five day trip. On expedia and the like, if I look for May 10 to 15, it quotes me the weekly rate of $300, twice as much as two separate rentals (from the same rental company and location) for May 10 to 14 ($126) and May 14 to 15 ($39). It's not like I'm going to drive the car back and go thru the hassle or returning and checking back out, but what gives? Kevin Slater
  25. Yeah, but is he Greek active or Greek passive? Kevin Slater
