Thank you for this… I saw Tommy yesterday and it was amazing if this is your type 😃 The facilities have really gone downhill though since my first visit. When I first went I remember thinking it was quite nice, but in just over a year it has become a bit dirty and disorganized. Tommy made me forget about that pretty quickly though.

The part that was confusing was the day that I was searching said “no available appointments today” but there were a few masseurs whose schedule showed availability. I ended up seeing Joe at his personal studio since his profile has an alt website for private sessions. Next time I’m in LA, I’d love to try Patrick or Oliver.

I fell for the Asiantantric syndicate in London several years ago.  But my little head still wants this guy to be real when he would open the door.

Ok so I took the plunge.... I even gave him a review on rent masseur, which should be up in the next few days.  So to answer the inevitable questions without making this a "review" on this site...
1. Yes, I would see him again.
2. Yes, the photos on rentmasseur are of him.  (And therefore some of the pics in the links above on other sites are also him, but not all).  He has a tattoo on his left forearm that makes it easy to identify which ones are and aren't of him (at least, when it's visible).
3. Yes, he charges a high rate.  In SF it was $300 for an hour for entry level and went up from there. If you message him, he'll detail his massage offerings.
4. Yes, I was wrong, based on the links shared earlier in this post, he's a member of the syndicate.  I would hazard a guess that he's either left them recently or is only "loosely coupled" with their business.
5. He's a sweet and polite guy, so if you do choose him as your masseur, be good to him.

returning to the topic - I think Bangkok is preferable to Barcelona for providers, venues &  overall ambience.
The only drawback for Bangkok is the distance for most people and then going when the weather is more pleasant  - for me, that would be November until end of March only.  And even during the high season, it’s not insanely crowded with tourists where it’s an unpleasant experience.  There is also a diversity among the tourists where one nationality doesn’t seem to take over.  
In Barcelona - it’s the hordes of tourists at all times that makes it unpleasant. And it’s all the very loud Americans that seem to be everywhere. Then add in the daily multiple cruise ships coming & going - not exactly relaxing or enjoyable. In context of this discussion and the OPs original question  - Thermas is the one stand-out that makes BCN worthwhile. 
all that said - I find it puzzling that some here stalk these type forums & contribute nothing about the main subject matter.  But rather looking for arguments about things that are unrelated. It must have something to do with getting older, out-of-touch and desperately seeking some type of outlet.  obviously they’re not having any real sex.

There's a little known Spa ♨ located in North Hollywood, called Laurel Health Spa. Corner of Laurel Canyon and Oxnard. David offers a very good massage and is amenable to extras if you tip...

I can across Mike on soothe as well but here is is now only therapeutic   Would love to find some more spas in la that are legit but have that “will they, won’t they” fun of never knowing if something is going to happen.

Been here many times as well. Had great experiences with a masseur that’s no longer there sadly. Still recommend, massages are top notch.

The female run massage places seem to have the best. I've not gotten the same from a male except once in Atlanta. In the DC area, a table shower is this long massage table that is in a shower setting. You lay on it naked and someone literally bathes you. It's a wonderful feeling. Unfortunately the "showers" I've had at male spas in NYC tend to be a little splashing of water, no bathing. The problem with going to the female places is.. well. they're female.....

I don't understand Grandee hate either. I've been there four time over the past two years and it's been fantastic each time. The shower is anemic and pointless, but the massages have always been good and I've had enormous fun.

You're new, so I'll give you some advice.

I had an absolutely amazing experience on a layover just now in Hong Kong at Dragonese Spa. Not the best facilities, but the masseur was hot… 20s, amazing body and a ton of fun. No mention of tip at any time but it was a wonderful experience. I want to come back and spend more time here.

My experience is limited, but I think massage places in the Philippines are not at the same level of class and cleanliness as those in Thailand, Taiwan, etc.
That said, this gentleman makes lots of Youtube videos in which he visits different spas in the Philippines and receives different kinds of treatments, including very sensual massages.  He's enjoying the royal treatment each time.
