  1. Sorry, William, but that is untrue: men were asked that question when they were summoned by the draft board for their physicals. They weren't asked, "Are you gay?" because that term wasn't in common use in the 1960s. They were asked, "Have you had sex with another man?" I was advised by a friend in the ACLU to answer it honestly, because if the military decided to have one of their witch-hunts for "subversives," they could easily discover evidence of my history of activity in the gay rights movement, and I could receive a "Dishonorable" discharge for lying about it. So I checked the 'yes' box, and I was called into a private office for an interview. The interviewer asked if I had meant my answer, and I confirmed it. He asked, "When was the last time this happened?" I said honestly, "Last night." Interview ended, and I was not drafted.
  2. Yet his ad offers "boyfriend experience" and says he's into "oral." How does he expect to not use the mouth?!
  3. You obviously haven't had as much sex as I have😒
  4. Hard to believe there are only 17 reviews on RM for a guy who has been on that site since 2015, and who has been mentioned on this site for a lot longer than that. Also hard to believe his stated age of 38, since a thread about him ten years ago mentioned that he was in his 30s then.
  5. I don't know how close you were to your parents, but from your description it sounds like you are also dealing with the loss of a relationship that may have compensated for your lack of a romantic/sex life (and which may also have inhibited you from having the latter?). It may sound strange coming from someone on a a site about gay escorts, but friends are more important than sex for most people. I agree with those who have suggested seeing a professional therapist (I sound like "Dear Abby" here), but socializing with sympathetic gay men is probably more important than searching for sex partners at this point in your development of a new life.
  6. If you are interested in New York history, the Tenement Museum on Orchard St on the Lower East Side is a fascinating look at how many 19th century immigrants lived. (Two of my grandparents were born near the museum in the 1870s.)
  7. And this is why I am willing to pay someone else to do our taxes. I take a folder filled with all our documents to the tax prep office, and let them deal with it. They also do the electronic filing for both federal and state. My desktop computer stopped accessing the Internet the day before they emailed all the resulting paperwork to me; I was not about to try to read 20 pages of filings on my phone, and I couldn't print anything, so the tax prep secretary printed everything for us, and all we had to do was go into the office, pick it all up, sign some papers, and write them a check. It's worth it to me not to have to deal with the stress of doing it myself, and I can blame them if anything is wrong.
  8. Asking for your picture before committing is always an automatic red flag.
  9. It didn't last. Yesterday I filled my car again at Von's station. Using my Von's membership number, I paid $5.20/gal for premium. That's still a $1 saving over my regular local station.
  10. That is not my idea of a "red head"--he looks like a strawberry blond.
  11. Written directions? HAHA! Too many things nowadays don't come with written directions, though they may be available on a computer, where you have to figure out how to access them.
  12. Because it's not relevant to the topic of this thread. Alcaraz is worth his own thread, if you want to start one.
  13. Those last two paragraphs are rather shocking. Many people take a long time to develop diabetes, but COVID has only been around for two years. A finding that people who didn't have diabetes before getting infected got it afterwards is disturbing, if true. A logical cause-effect connection doesn't come to my mind, so I wonder if this is simply the old "after this, therefore because of this" fallacy. One would need a lot more evidence to prove a cause-effect connection.
  14. My mother had exactly the same set-up. It probably would help to know what the situation is before deciding on the gift.
  15. I wonder how much of this behavior is a carryover from social media, in which one can immediately react directly to the poster (and all those in his audience), with little negative consequence.
  16. It was a great shot. I have occasionally hit a winner with my non-dominant hand if there was nothing else I could do, but his choice seemed very deliberate.
  17. Ace is a regular attendee at the PS Weekend, which is coming up in a couple of weeks, so I expect that he will be here.

Love the imported right-hand drive MG.
  19. Once again, Clijsters provides the template. There is also the question of who would be the more effective breadwinner in Barty's family.
  20. Clijsters is the first thought that came to my mind when I heard this news during my Wed. morning match today. Clijsters retired unexpectedly at an early age, then came back and won more majors, then retired again, then came back again....I was not as surprised as I would have been if Barty hadn't already done this once before, but I thought she would at least stick it out till the end of this year, to see if she could finish the Career Slam at the US Open. But when she got married after the AO, I wondered....
  21. And the RM ad is gone.
  22. The Pacifica is actually larger than I need, and unfortunately it has a terrible reputation for reliability; unfortunately, so does the only reasonably close Chrysler dealer.
  23. He looks strikingly like new teenage Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, but a few years younger.
  24. The face is gorgeous, but the huge skull tattoo on the back is a turn-off. I wonder what it is going to look like when he is 70 (memento mori )?
  25. Indian Wells is one of the most important tennis tournaments in the world, one of the ten Masters 1000 series. Thousands of fans from around the world attend, and with a winner's prize of $1.242 million, there are few players who do not want to participate. Winning has a major effect on the champion's world ranking. I always knew who was the Indian Wells champion even when I lived in Philadelphia, where I watched it on TV. The 2021 tournament, however, was an unusual outlier, because it was not held at its normal time of year and attendance was severely restricted because of COVID, so the fact that fewer tennis fans probably know Cam Norrie than most of the other winners is not surprising, since the final also was between two foreign players who were not very familiar to the general public, and who have not won any other major tournaments. Taylor Fritz is not only the highest ranked American tennis player, he also beat one of the most famous figures in tennis history (and a three time previous winner), so I imagine that plenty of those fans who live outside California will remember his name.
