  1. I was lucky enough to retire from an employer who agreed to keep retirees in the institution's group insurance plan with a supplemental payment that is so reasonable (currently $89/mo) that I have never paid any attention to the other options. It covers dental, prescription drugs and eye care, and gym membership. My spouse, on the other hand, has a supplemental PPO policy with Anthem that doesn't cover dental, but costs almost as much per month as our mortgage. Luckily, we have both had reasonably good health over the many years we have been in Medicare, so we haven't really had to test any differences between our coverage, but we have been equally satisfied with both so far. If I were to lose my ability to participate in the group policy, however, I would certainly look first at the new Advantage plans.
  2. Many years ago in Amsterdam, I went home from a bar with a guy from Leiden, a chemist who made his own amyl nitrate. He would soak pieces of cloth in it, and we put them over our faces. I expected to have a real headache later, but was surprised that I had no unpleasant aftereffect.
  3. Any photo I take with my phone shows up shortly afterwards on my iPad as well. However, if I delete it on my phone, it also immediately disappears from my iPad, too.
  4. Ditto for my barber.
  5. Perhaps he is just testing its potential for use as a face mask.
  6. Deming is a 72 mile round trip for a bottle of milk! However, it was about 20 years ago that we were in Silver City, so maybe it is not as bad as it seemed when we stayed there.
  7. Some fantasies are best left as fantasies. If you do try to go through with this, make sure you are dealing with a very reliable escort, and have someone you can trust (not an associate of the escort) be aware of what is going on, and if possible actually monitoring the adventure. I was acquainted with a crazy escort who engaged in a similar kind of desert fantasy a number of years ago with a client who requested it. It did not go well for the client, according to the homicide investigators.
  8. Strange that he calls himself Brazilian, yet the only spoken language he lists is English, and his text is entirely in colloquial Gen Z English.
  9. And in your fantasy, what happens after you have been tied spread-eagled naked on the sand?
  10. No, there were art galleries downtown, but not much else.
  11. I'm glad I didn't buy a lot of handsanitizer and wipes.
  12. Closing a Walmart in some towns in NM is a disaster, because it may be the only store in town not only for groceries but for other essentials like drug store items. I remember staying in Silver City several years ago and being surprised to find that a Walmart superstore was the only place to buy anything other than souvenirs and art.
  13. I am sorry to hear this. He was a very frequent poster for several years and we had a number of exchanges in private messages; although we both lived in SoCal, we met only once. I am glad his move to FTL was as satsifying as he hoped it would be.
  14. I have the same memory.
  15. But when are the people wearing the masks? The reports are that it is private gatherings, such as family get-togethers, rather than public places that are spreading the virus now, and how likely is it that people are wearing masks in their homes?
  16. With just photos and no text, I would have guessed that he was mixed-race American military, possibly stationed in Germany at one time.
  17. He doesn't say he is German, only that he is available in Berlin. His list in the ad of things he does sounds like he is translating for potential German clients. His writing sounds more like a native English speaker, and "Bryan" is a typical American name with no cognates in German or Romance languages.
  18. Phyllis Diller said her response to her mother was, "Name one."
  19. Whenever there was a lull in conversation, my mother always said, "It must be twenty of or twenty after." I never understood where that came from.
  20. Years ago, I was friendly with an escort who admitted he had hired some of the same escorts whom I had hired, and who asked my advice about a few he was interested in hiring.
  21. The Coachella Valley (location of Palm Springs) is being described in the news as a new hotspot, with a 383% increase in hospitalizations during the past month. People are starting to report paper product shortages in the stores again.
  22. Those one-way restrictions didn't even last a week at any store I patronize--much too difficult to enforce.
  23. I wear a mask inside any building where I will encounter other people, except my own home and one neighboring home, because we have essentially formed a pod with that neighbor couple. The only people besides those neighbors who have been inside our house since March are service people (electrician, plumber, etc.) and I wear a mask and expect them to do so. I go to any store that is open, but I will eat only outside at a restaurant. I do not wear a mask outdoors, but have one with me to put on if I encounter anyone. I do not carry anyone in my car except my spouse and the aforementioned neighbors, unless we are both masked and the drive is very short, with windows open. I do not go to parties or any kind of gathering, indoors or outdoors, except that I do play tennis outdoors unmasked, usually with the same partners, and between games we sit socially distanced. I will not fly or use public transport. We have made only one weekend trip away from home since February, and we stayed in a rented cabin and brought our food with us or got take-out, except for one meal on a restaurant's outdoor patio. I expect that we will relax these practices somewhat once a vaccine becomes available, but we are still unlikely to take part in group social activities for a long time.
  24. Is he transitioning? It doesn't look like there is anything between his legs.
