  1. My first fulltime professional position paid $6800/yr. My parents were quite impressed, because my mother's fulltime salary was $2500/yr. And we were considered middle-class.
  2. I still have one of these, but I haven't taken it out and used it in years, so I don't know what condition all those old slides are in--I have many trays of them.
  3. Those thighs could feed a small tribe of cannibals.
  4. The two cars I had the longest--thirteen years each--were a Mercedes E320 and a Honda Element. Both were still in excellent shape when I traded them in. The two that I kept the shortest time were a 1954 Mercury and a 1966 Ford; both were junk that I couldn't wait to get rid of after a couple of months.
  5. My tastes in men are so eclectic that I have no good explanation for them. Even if two men are the same age, height, weight, build, skin color, color and quantity of body hair, etc., I may find one intensely arousing and the other just meh. Maybe the difference is pheromones (although that explanation doesn't work with photos).
  6. If I remember correctly, the term "planned obsolescence" originally surfaced in regard to General Motors designs in the 1950s.
  7. Are you kidding? Do you remember the term "planned obsolescence"?
  8. He is actually in the south Jersey suburbs, not in Philly, so keep that in mind when planning.

I assume this was World War I.
  10. In Palm Springs, the quantity of real (and imitation) "mid-century modern" can be overwhelming. The question is how much of it is worthy of being saved. There are serious battles here all the time about which buildings are significant enough to be preserved.
  11. Imagine trying to park that Oldsmobile!
  12. But would that mean that every building in the district would get the same historical protection?
  13. There is so much "50s modern architecture" in Palm Springs that in order for a structure to have historical protection, it would have to be the product of a noted architect (it isn't) or of especially distinctive quality (it isn't), or to be something worth saving for its historical importance, like being the first gay resort in town (I don't know about that), or where something important happened, like where it is documented that Tab Hunter fucked Rock Hudson:p.
  14. Title: "Odalisque with Bike."
  15. Considering the number of gay resorts in Palm Springs, I doubt that INNdulge would qualify as historically significant.
  16. This must have been written before last March.
  17. Bravo Lucky!! (The only reason I have an avatar is that he found it and posted it for me.)
  18. Oh, you are sooo vanilla!
  19. Well, he obviously wasn't sunbathing.
  20. I do not miss the years when I commuted on the LIE.
  21. My spouse and I have our supplementary policies with two different Blue Cross affiliates, and they have never sent us anything except summaries of what they have paid to our medical providers.
  22. Perhaps you should ask "Dear Abby."
  23. Don't forget the first line: "I have promises to keep..."
  24. Actually, he seems to stretch various digits in his photos. Perhaps it is just an affectation. He probably also raises his pinky while sipping a cup of tea.
  25. I think he is actually sitting in an H&M store.
