For the persons who keep saying, its the reality of cost of living? That's the point, wages are not keeping up with the cost of living. Unless those pushing back are simply saying, this is an industry for people with only deep pockets? I gave my opinion its too much and I do move on. I either go to my local bate club, or bathhouse or use the apps and I have two hookups scheduled this week. Also, every evening at the train station, I have hot muscular bottoms sending me provocative pics to drop a load and leave. So, I am not really missing out here. But how far can you go for sex? Are providers really ready to risk pricing themselves out of the business? I turned to RM because I got tired of the games on the apps. But that seemed to have changed in the past year with more successful commitments.

In my humble opinion $400 is too much. Heck even $300 is too much tbh. $250 should be the cap. I haven't hired in the US for almost 2 years now. I take trips to Barcelona or Brazil  etc. (I understand that the cost is more in total) but I get more bang for my buck.
I am no stingy person. But the reason I do not agree with these prices is because we talking about RM here. I can only speak from my experience, majority are not outclass, excellent providers. We are talking 400/HOUR here. You can only do the deed and leave. There is no "experience" so to speak.
Now I understand someone who is pornstar material or is one can probably charge that but not just anybody.
I really like someone here mentioned that high cost does not equate with high equality in this industry. This is so true!!
It is slowly become rare to find a provider that is excellent quality, some want money upfront, cut the time short, do not follow what agreed upon etc. etc.

One argument I see for $400 pricing is rising demand combined with lack of fresh arrivals. With loneliness at epidemic levels, raised expectations about looks and body (due to excessive consumption of online porn, touched up Instagram filtered pix of youthful men who spend hours in a gym and peddle fitness advise and protein powders and drinks) that can not be met by avg real-life people,  and reduced stigma around paid sex, I am sure there is more demand for escorts than before. Also, lately I don't see a whole lot of eastern European visitors advertising ( I think the pandemic changed that traffic). Brazilians show up, but in fewer numbers. Thus, the supply chain has disrupted and OnlyFans and Chaturbate, in addition to FOSTA AND SESTA has minimized the local crop. Hence prices could be up.  I guess, my only choice is to keep it in the pants as long as I can.

I wholeheartedly agree. 400 is over the top, it's not like buttholes are scarce. What providers have to understand too is that, just as inflation is affecting their daily living, it's also hitting us, clients, hard, too. Which would you rather, 300 or none at all? Instead of demanding more, you could have more clients at 300. Yeah, I know, hosting, prepping for the meeting. But, if you stay a week in a city at an AirBnB and average 3 clients a day that's 4,500 per week at 300. On top of the benefit of building your reputation, it's a win-win for the provider.
Many of us are not rich like Mr. Thiel who can make you a sugar baby. We work long 9 to 5 jobs and have expenses, too. There is a provider who quoted me 400, I was more than ready to pay 300. But immediately moved on; it's a good thing I did. I went to my local bathhouse and got the same release just for the entrance price of $30 and was able to blow a couple of loads. The guy was sexy af, height was 6' 5', built, with a bubble butt to die for. Made me put things into perspective that I really going to blow 400 just because I wanted to scratch an itch.
Yes, I have paid 400 and even 800 in the past and regretted it. 400 was limp, no penetration, no kissing, just body contact, and my review rightfully put them out of business. 800, paid for the air ticket and service and although we did everything agreed, it felt rushed and used my toilet to douche.
So, why is this happening? Many factors which include the rise of OF, many have left the business for that, making quality providers more in demand. The pandemic I also believe hit the business hard and a lot left the industry. With so many tech companies laying off those rich tech workers, that money that used to come from tech-rich coastal cities is not there anymore. Rents have shot up also in these major metro too and just the expense of traveling I understand. These circumstances drive providers to push up their prices. But it's a catch-22, because what it ultimately means is a lot of us are less willing to pay. I see it just in my own savings.
I am planning to visit NY this summer and I have to admit, if I get quoted the 400 or more, I will just continue to pass. I've not been with a provider since November. I've supplemented this with my right hand and local bate club. Yesterday was my first time back at the local bathhouse since 2019 and surprisingly wasn't too bad. I plan to make it a regular visit every few months.

When I've considered escorts who charge that much, they're often so busy and full of themselves that they don't pay attention or care too much about a single customer. Not the kind of attitude I hire for.
I'm waiting for the recession to finally hit. I thought 300 was too high prior to the pandemic,  and with inflation I think it's much more fair. This is an unregulated market with a very low barrier to entrance. Just pay what you want, reject prices you think are too high, and wait for supply and demand to kick in.

If you're a lawyer or a Doctor, I'm sure $400 is not a problem.  But for average Joes, this is simply highway robbery!!  There has to be a line of demarcation when enough is enough, and I say that is $300.  I get the old supply and demand side of economics, but there must be common sense.  It's just buggery, not creating new art or writing a play.  My solution (tongue and cheek, so to speak) is that customers form a union and demand LOWER fees, or we go on strike!

But seriously, guys, $300 is more than enough.

But I will admit, the industry has changed, and providers mostly use RM as a conduit to promote their adult content on OF. They don't really have much incentive as they did 8 years ago to really pursue this profession.
    With OF:
