  1. Forty-seven photos of himself in his rentmen ad!

My, oh my. He really likes (loves) himself.

Some gentlemen allow the number of photos to grow. One well-regarded gentlemen was in the sixties (images, not age) but shifted most of them to semi-private. I don't judge them for that.

He went overboard on pruning his pictures, the ad is totally gone.

  2. I had a long answer-but I wasn't expressing myself well. But in addition to what I was going to say which I'm not now due to not being able to express it-it seems to me to be a question of boundaries. In most cases a patient probably doesn't need to know their therapist was in adult entertainment at one time. Take @purplekow's acquaintance, if the guy is a good surgeon-do I need to the knowledge he worked as a stripper?

Now in certain situations maybe the patient might need to know-as in counseling someone else in adult entertainment. But even then, it still might be crossing boundaries. The patient might begin to look at you as more of a colleague rather than a therapist.

So if you're a good therapist, then you're a good therapist. And having been in adult entertainment is part of your life experience that brought you to your current life. But that doesn't in my opinion mean you necessarily need to let the patient know.

  3. It’s not “wrong”, but largely unnecessary in the average home that practices good cooking practices in the first place. How long has anyone let a hamburger sit in a to go bag before eating it? Might have been around 155° when it leaves the restaurant. But 20 minutes later when you eat it? 40, 60 minutes. Did you get food poisoning?

While it can depend on the preparation and whether it was contaminated beforehand, they say for a lot of stuff that the magic time is 2 hours. Food needs to be refrigerated or frozen definitely before two hours. For some items they say as soon as it's cooled enough to go in the refrigerator or freezer. Obviously you don't want to put something steaming in either place as it would raise their temperatures.

  4. You can eat pre-cooked cold foods out of the fridge, but if you re-heat the food it should be re-heated to 165 degrees, according to the USDA and the NSF (formerly known as the National Sanitation Foundation). The Mayo Clinic and The University of Wisconsin Extension recommend the same practice.

That's the part that doesn't make sense. If you can eat it cold straight out of the fridge, and if it can be out of refrigeration for 2 hours, why if heating it doesn't take longer than 2 hours -which it won't-should it have to reach 165 degrees?

  5. Once it is cooked to a temperature of 165, then I don't think it needs re-cooking. Warm it to your taste and eat.

I always thought the same, but recently started seeing warnings to re-heat leftovers to an internal temperature of 165 degrees. If memory serves, the reason given was bacteria thrives when the food reaches the so-called "danger zone" above 40 degrees but does not survive when the food is heated to above 165 degrees.

So eating any cold food from the fridge that had previously been cooked is dangerous unless re-cooked? If that's so, a lot of sick people are still eating cold food!

I think so too. But apparently the danger zone starts at 40 Fahrenheit (4.44 C for most of the rest of the world). So from an article on Real Simple

"The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the recommended refrigerator temperature is below 40°F; the ideal freezer temp is below 0°F."

  6. Wow did KFC really screw up not sending me a reminder and a special! FYI hot dog day is Wednesday the 22nd of this month. Wienerschnitzel is celebrating with....discounted chili dogs. I believe chili dogs have a different day of celebration, so that is blasphemy.

Wienerschnitzel had a Dogs of the World promotion until just recently. One of the featured hotdogs was German inspired. I can't remember what all was on it-probably sauerkraut and maybe some sautéed onions. But the mustard they used was beer mustard. It was delicious!! I actually looked up how to make mustard. For a small jar it's not that hard. It apparently doesn't even need pressure cooking-vinegar, mustard seed, a mortar and pestle, some spices and voila!!

  7. If i have left over chicken I prefer it cold. Reheating does something to the skin I don't care for. We don't cook fried chicken at home either, its just too messy and takes too much oil and peanut oil can be pricey. When we do a meal I love collard greens (more vinegar less sweet), jalenpeno corn bread and a side of honey butter to put on the corn bread and chicken.

I prefer it warm. I've find the best way to reheat it is to put the oven at 450 F. And put the chicken in a roaster with a piece of foil over it for 20 minutes or so. I like crispy breading. But I like the underlying fat to be slightly moist-so the breading is still very slightly moist and not totally dry like toast.

  8. Spoiler Alert::

I've seen Jonathan Goff and others sing "You'll Be Back" on YouTube before, and it's always been performed in a more comical vein. In the performance caught on film, you can tell there is a real undercurrent of anger. He even spits-or more accurately- drools at one point. I'm not clear it it was for the part showing fury, incipient madness, (or both at the same time) or just one of those things.

I also came across a YouTube video from when Hamilton first opened on the West End. The video was of an American show wanting to know the British public's reaction to the musical. The interviewer-also an American- said that in the UK production the King George character was made more acceptable by being portrayed comically. The hosts in the USA didn't agree that George wasn't a comic part in the Broadway production. But again, I see real anger in Jonathan Goff's portrayal during the song.

On the other hand maybe Jonathan's drooling was just a mischance or due to enunciation. Whenever I see an actor spit, I'm always reminded of this Friend's Episode with Gary Oldman.

  9. I was extremely remiss in not wishing everyone a Happy National Fried Chicken Day yesterday. Unfortunately the holiday got away from me. I wasn't even able to have my traditional holiday meal (fried chicken, green beans, and mashed potatoes) until today.

I bought the chicken from a local place as I've never stove fried chicken before (I've done oven fried in the long distance past). Stove frying seems like a lot of work and mess for one person.

After I arrived home I kept the chicken warm in the oven while I was heating up the green beans. The following conundrum occurred to me.

Some people like eating leftover cold fried chicken from the refrigerator. But if you want to reheat the leftover fried chicken, the USDA says make sure it reaches a temperature of 165 F.

So the chicken is apparently safe to eat right out of the refrigerator for a few days. But if we want it warm, that same chicken that we just took out of the refrigerator and would have been fine to eat cold, has to reach 165 F????

  10. A number of years ago Ace attended the Palm Springs Weekend as a guest of a client. He created a sensation at the Trio dinner wearing a white tropical suit. That was before he and Tyler had met and became a couple. Both attended the Palm Springs Weekend together four or five year ago which is when the three of us got together. Every year I try and get them to attend but they haven't thus far been able to schedule it -- here's hopeful that they will be able to attend in 2021

I hired Ace for a weekend almost right after he came to notice here. The pictures I have date from January 2013. Ace mentioned at the time that he was out of a long term relationship and been talking-possibly online- with a "guy" from California. I'm pretty sure the "guy" he was talking about was Tyler. I'll bet there is a good chance this was before the Palm Springs Dinner as the dinners were usually held in the warmer months. And I don't think Ace would have been well-known enough in 2012 to have been a guest at a Forum Dinner.

I'm embarrassed by how long it was before I connected the 90° angle.

Don't be embarrassed in the slightest. I didn't know what was going on at first either. I couldn't figure out why the building "was turned" like that. Then the words 90 degrees percolated through my agéd brain, and I realized what the cartoon meant.

  12. Right now he lists being versatile. But of course I guess that might mean only versatile orally.

Sigh, I'm so tired of straight guys as escorts. We need someone who's gay, versatile/or bottom, who kisses, and looks like him.

gar1eth.... do you actually think gay men dont need viagra to fuck a stranger? that magically somehow having "gay" in front of their title the escort becomes an uber horny stallion that cant keep their pecker down? look at many of the men that hire... pretend they are naked... and then tell me that any man wouldnt need a bottle of viagra to get thru the session!

You wound me, sir. I don't think anything like that at all. I don't need the guy to be an incredibly horny stallion for me. Lord, I'm a terribly out of shape 59 and almost 1/2 year old. What would I do with a Maserati going 185? In the words of a popular song, what I for the most part am looking for is "one small thrill (ok maybe two?)" without (usually) anything (much) dirty going on.

What it has to do with for me is the gender the guy is actually attracted to. I have negligible sexual attraction to the fairer sex (which may be one reason among millions that I'm not attracted to overly effeminate guys). And I would prefer to have sex with guys who in the main have the same attractions I do.

  13. A good friend and former colleague of mine recommended that I take out a Disney membership in order to view Hamilton; now that I know that I can get to view and hear per a week's free trial, I am definitely going to experience this phenomenal musical.

...had hoped to see the production (live) in San Francisco, but a sudden halt was made when theaters, etc. were closed due to COVID-19.

I tried to sign up for the freebie and still was charged. Plus I read an article that said they had stopped the free trial. But maybe I did something wrong.
