    Well put.
    I completely agree.
It's a complicated issue, with various viewpoints that all can be supported.

I’m of two minds about this issue. While it’s true many artifacts were acquired from in situ locations in the 19th and early 20th centuries from areas of the world where the locals had no idea of their value but the Victorians did, such actions actually saved these items from being irretrievably lost. Not talking about grave robbing though.

Like in the case of the Lord Elgin marbles. The Ottomans had stored dynamite in the Parthenon on the Acropolis which accidentally blew the place up. Lord Elgin saw that the Greeks were incapable of protecting these precious antiquities. So he put them in a museum.
Similarly here in Canada the totem poles in the Pacific Northwest were exposed to the elements and any that were not taken and put in museums disappeared over the last century or so. Now the ones in Scotland and elsewhere are being repatriated but to museums now which have been built to accommodate them.

In Toronto the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) has the largest collection of native artifacts in Ontario and perhaps Canada. I was there a year ago specifically to look at their Indigenous exhibits and took some photos. Today I understand it is temporarily closed.
In Montreal there are several collections, in the Redpath Museum at McGill University and the McCord Museum nearby. I was at the Redpath two years ago but haven’t been to the McCord for years . Not sure what they have done with their Indigenous artifacts.

There is a lot of turmoil in museums in Canada regarding this issue over the last several years. Incredibly it appears that the brunt of the controversy has affected the Indigenous curators and administrators who have either left or been terminated.

This happened at the National Gallery in Ottawa where 4 senior people left and recently vat the ROM where the head of Indigenous art left. Ironically most or all of these people have been Indigenous people.
Stay tuned if you are interested in seeing what they have. Things keep changing.

As a hopefully helpful hint, the term "Canadian Indian" isn't used up here.   "Native Canadian" is sometimes heard, but it is more appropriate to use the term "Indigenous" or "Aboriginal" when speaking of Canadian Native populations generally.   This can be broken down further and more distinctly into the following three groups who are identified in the Canadian Constitution as being Aboriginal:  First Nations (analogous to "American Indians"); Metis (a population of mixed European/First Nations ancestry that arose primarily in the Red River Valley in the 1600s and developed its own unique language and culture - and while all Metis have mixed ancestry, not everyone with mixed ancestry would be considered Metis); and Inuit (analogous to "American Eskimo").
Unlike American Indians, First Nations people are generally divided into 'Bands' or 'Nations' rather than 'Tribes', and they live on "Reserves" rather than "Reservations".
It's taken a while for me to come to a proper understanding of all this, since it was not really taught in school when I was younger.  But the Indigenous people I have encountered have generally been patient and willing to teach those who may not have the proper understanding.

Comparing Barcelona to Madrid in terms of numbers of providers is a silly and pointless task.
Barcelona has a population of 1.7 million. Its metro area has a population of 5.7 million. Madrid has a population of  3.4 million and a metro area of 6.9 million. Traveling providers visit each city frequently.
Are there statistics about the numbers of providers in the two largest Spanish cities, especially compared to an international destination like Bangkok -- which itself has a metro area population of more than 11 million?

Good point.  I wonder if @newdadis looking for generically European men in an atmosphere similar to Bangkok, or if he's looking for Asian men without having to travel to Asia.

Since Irkutsk is in Asia, the Original Poster might as well travel to Bangkok.  After all, he's looking for a European city that reminds him of his good old days in Bangkok, presumably because he's in Europe or will be on holiday there soon.

If you have receipts about Barcelona being similar to Bangkok, please go ahead.
But if you don't like being confronted with verified facts, I can't help you there. You'll have to do your own research.

So why is Barcelona rated higher than Madrid on many quality-of-life indexes? You must know!
Yes, it's indexes instead of indices -- just in case that's your next trigger. ☺️

Your notions about Barcelona are kinda stuck in 2017-18. It's still a very lovely city, with many quality-of-life indexes higher than in Madrid. But I'm glad you agree that Barcelona is a city that offers large numbers of quality providers -- which is the topic of this thread.
In Bangkok, if you've never heard Thai people use the terms Tinglish, Thainglish, or Thaiglish, you're not listening very carefully. Or perhaps you meet only one type?
Referring to such terms does NOT mean that Thais have no idea what they're saying. Where did you get that idea? Do pochos in Mexico and the US not understand what they're saying?
FYI... "Mashup" terms like Thainglish, Singlish, and Manglish are well known by locals in those three countries. Listen up -- not everything is on Wikipedia! ☺️

Well, I was there last October and had my usual fill of friends, men, and lads.
The term "ladyboy" has always amused me. It's a Thainglish formation that they seem to love because it's all for you and not for them. So if you love been pandered to, go for it! 😂
In Europe, the closest thing to being in Bangkok is indeed Barcelona. However, that lovely city doesn't have the huge number of gay massage parlors as in the Land of Smiles.
But in terms of escorts and providers, Barcelona is still #1 on the international circuit of  Deli boys.

No, that simplistic reasoning is still off the mark.
Even those Southeast Asian countries that suffered under European (Christian)  colonization have always had much more permissive and tolerant societies in matters of sexual expression. As you know, both Hinduism and Buddhism have permeated the region for more than a millennium, long predating any strong European Christian influences on society.
And here's another, much more complex example: the various traditions of transvestism and gender pluralism in Asia and the Pacific -- which predated European contact.
According to Peter Jackson, a scholar at the Australian National University in Canberra, gender was not differentiated in Thailand until the 1800s. Before then, Thai princes and princesses dressed the same, with matching hairstyles. But in the 19th century, to impress the British, the Thai monarchy decided that women and men should be clearly differentiated with unique clothing and hairstyles. So Thailand embarked on a strategy to make its women look like women, and its men look like men, based on a very British model of gender. By the early 1900s, Rama V, the king of Thailand, imposed Western notions of dimorphic gender, and forced the crystallisation of what a woman and a man should be; all subjects thereafter had to be clearly female or male. For Jackson, this is when gender pluralism began to increase. When gender is not strictly mandated to follow a binary, there is no need for individuals to be transgender because there is nothing to transverse. So in fact the Western gender system created ‘transgenderism’ – crossing from one gender to another made no sense in Thailand when there weren’t two strictly defined genders. Hence the most well-known transgender in Southeast Asia: the kathoey, often referred to by the derogatory term ‘ladyboys’.

Wow. That's a pretty myopic explanation -- euro-centric as well as a huge stretch of cultural extrapolation!😂
It's not the absence of Catholicism. It's the Buddhism,
Historically as well as today, Buddhists practice tolerance and understanding in matters of sexual relations. Just start there when trying to explain "access and attitude."

Which of the two Spanish cities has the best Pad Thai?  Maybe that will tip the scales in favour of one city over the other, and draw the bickering to a close?

Major abdominal surgical scar and an array of small wounds, some evidently more healed than others. He has not attempted to obscure these in various photos posted. I would surmise laparoscopic incisions. If so, these are not called sores, and that kind of term may get anchored in the minds of readers.
Better to ask the source than post innuendo. As acknowledged, one can open the convo with a provider by asking what is important to know about the noticeable in terms of guarding him from wound infection or exacerbation of some condition. Then adjust according to his response. Or inquire afterwards if mode of contact is sustained. There’s usually a way of avoiding putting someone on the spot.

And to be picky, ‘most similar to’, or ‘closest’?
My guess, in spite of my silly response, is the range, breadth and accessibility of trade.
I have had equal luck with ad-based trade in Madrid (following Adan’s demise) and Barcelona (supplemental to Thermas).
I am reluctant to compare the two cities qualitatively due to magical visits elsewhere in the country, obviously not sexually focused. However, if push came to shove I think I would prefer Madrid as a place to live.

Do you think it was an identifiable injury from some kind of exertion or that the musculature cluster just basically went into spasm spontaneously, like a mind of its own, releasing chemicals that irritate the nerve group? The latter occurs for me occasionally. Past week I think triggered by tensing up when wearing heavier clunky footwear on icy walkways. Max discomfort tends to be when getting out of bed after a nap or full night’s sleep.
    Things I do:
Walk it off, trying to keep surrounding muscle groups loose, as opposed to staying immobile.
Tylenol-3, usually max 2 or 3 per episode, cumulatively half a dozen tabs annually, but when taking time to rest as they promote drowsiness.
Continue more peripheral resistance training at the gym, but not focused core exertion. Sounds counterintuitive but helps. Today I did my full chest & upper back routine. Also stretch, with emphasis on hamstrings, as all muscle groups are implicated in spontaneous sciatic spasm. That said, such activity is based on lack of evidence of the problem having been triggered by exertion such as heavy lifting in a bad position. I feel nerve pain, not muscle discomfort. In other words, I only know the spasm exists due to nerve irritation and body line nude in the mirror is a bit off.
Apply external Thumper Massager which my effective chiropractor of years back, now retired, used on me in treatments, along with a rolling pin (his playbook; I use a foam roller and slide on it under me). He had put little emphasis on conventional adjustment manoeuvres.
Hot pool water jets directly on the area at Spa Scandinave in Old Montreal. Very effective but the jets must be extremely robust, so that I gently anchor myself as they propel my floating body away from the jet flow. I find it’s the most effective mitigator.
