  1. News to me, but Wikipedia says Kinshasa is the largest francophone city in the world, larger than Paris. It is also the world's largest "francophone" urban area (recently surpassing Paris in population),
  2. Gay stripper clubs in Montreal offer a complete spectrum of body types from slight and young to swimmers and gym bunnies and on to really big body builders. "Taboo" is one end of the spectrum; "Campus" is the next phase. Last week was quite busy at "Campus." Wednesday was Gary, the owner's, 50th birthday, and there was a big party with female singer, dancing in the aisles, and a finale with 50 dancers on stage. Then Friday night, a Special Customer from New York was at the club to celebrate his birthday, so the stage was specially decorated and the dancers were all excited. The pattern of activity at "Campus" has changed slightly. The club opens at 3:00, but if you come before 6:00 any day of the week, you will sit at the bar with the bartender and one dancer and listen to music. Nothing really gets going until 6:00 when the second shift of dancers come on; they will stay until midnight. The crowd of customers appears beginning at 6:00. Although it used to be that twinks danced in the late afternoon and early evening, on the four nights I was there last week, there was not a single twink. What is featured now is the swimmer's build or frat boy model, somewhat more developed than a twink, a bit more mature (not as "cute" or "boyish"), and usually some muscle development. They are handsome young men. Zack - was a delight, charming, youthful, energetic, beautiful body but certainly not lean, great conversationalist, very nice in back, and great ass. He's fun to talk with, fun to play with, smooth, and enjoys giving you a good time. Andrew - was there only one night, but he was very good, a little lean but muscled (he does construction during the day), a little shy, good in back, intelligent. Jay - danced each night, nice guy, smooth lean body, some muscle development, well hung, nice firm round ass, works the crowd. Damon - was there two nights and is stunning, beautiful face and sandy, curly hair, lightly tanned body of a young Greek god, perfectly proportioned, slender waist, must be about 6 feet tall, and a gorgeous body in every way. Little uncertainty with English, but very nice. James - had a nice swimmer's body, was good on the pole, and had a dazzling smile. He is popular with all the dancers and seems like a good friend and pleasant. Alexi - (I think that was his name, but maybe "Starling"?). He danced every night and has an almost perfect young man's body, beautiful tightly muscled torso, great legs, smooth, beautiful full firm ass, strong, defined back muscles, good haircut, handsome face and good haircut. His dance is very good, and he dances fully nude. He is covered completely on the left side with tattooes. Dave - has an average swimmer's body, smooth, and is fairly tall. He seemed to be nice, but never smiled, and he danced every night. A smile helps a great deal. He also shows all, but never takes everything off and never dances actually nude. Adam - danced Saturday and was absolutely stunning. He's 20, slender but perfectly muscled and perfectly proportioned. His pecs, abs, and back are nicely defined, and his legs are gorgeous. He's a college student and dances only weekends. He's aware of himself as an entertainer and works the stage and the crowd. His English is very good and he is a good conversationalist. Nito / Cubanito - is a frat boy type from Cuba. He's got dark curly hair, a very nice body and is well hung, and he dances fully nude. He seemed to have a number of admirers in the audience, danced every night, and seemed to work hard and please customers. Chris - was the sole blond while I was there, pleasant, smooth, nice ass, nicely hung, gregarious, very nice looking when he smiled. He did wear a baseball cap much of the time. Angelo - was an Italian/Canadian, tall and lean and a little hairy. He also wore a cap. His body type was a swimmer's. In addition to these guys, there were at least as many other dancers from 6:00 - 9:00 that might be described as pudgy. They weren't fat nor body builders, but they were somewhat heavier than an average build, perhaps a college football player physique. At 9:00 the older and more muscular dancers appeared and performed until 3:00 a.m. The crowd of customers becomes quite thick after 7:30. If you are very interested in particular dancers, your chance of talking with them and getting a lap dance is best between 6:00 and 7:30. Lap dances are $20 and the booths in back have open doors, no curtains. You can plan your evening to start with "Campus" from 6:00 - 8:00 or so, then have dinner at one of the restaurants along Ste. Catherine, then head to "Stock" or "Taboo" (depending on your taste) for another few hours of stripper action. .
  3. . CAMPUS Stripper bar in Montreal, Canada 1111 Rue Ste Catherine Est 514-526-3616 http://www.campusmtl.com Metro station: Beaudry On East Side in Gay Village on Rue Ste Catherine, on 2nd floor. 15 good restaurants within 10 minute walk 1 minute walk to Stock and 10 minute walk to JP's and TABOO Open 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. every day of the year. Never a cover charge. Large hemispherical stage. and tiered seating and tables all around room. One bar during day and a second bar at night; extra seating at night as curtain is pulled back and additional space is provided. Dancers perform in groups of 3; first a slow dance in clothes and stripping, then a fast dance totally nude. Half a dozen dancers start at 3:00, then more come each hour. By 5:00 there are about 20 twinks ranging from young-and-slender to full bodied gorgeous young men; by 6:00 there are 30. Prime time for twink dancers is 6:00-9:00, but the period from 3:00 to 9:00 is for twinks. At 9:00 they are replaced by big muscular guys who dance, and another 30 guys appear and the twinks leave. Plenty of space and opportunity to meet dancers before 7:00. Later the club tends to be packed. Between performances, dancers circulate in briefs or jeans and sit and chat with customers. If you see a dancer who interests you but does not walk by your table, it is perfectly acceptable, and recommended by management, that you get up and go to him and ask him to join you. Lap dance booths in back offer total privacy. Currently, dancers ask $20 per song for a lap dance behind closed curtain and with contact. If you ask, $10 / song with no contact and curtain open, just looking. But other variations are possible with negotiation, number of customers/dancers, busyness, etc. The afternoon dancers tend to be mostly gay, the evening guys more gay-for-pay but nice. Largest number of dancers on Thurs, Fri, and Sat. There are theme nights, Ladies Night, etc. Perhaps the best gay stripper bar in the world. It is OK to invite dancers for lunch or dinner the next day; some will accept and others decline. Do not be offended if they decline; dancers have other lives and responsibilities on their time. But a nice meal with a cute, sweet French/Canadian boy can be very enjoyable. Probably offers the best opportunities of any bar for a good time with strippers. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Montreal%202008/campus.jpg
  4. . TABOO Twink stripper bar in Montreal, Canada. In Gay Village on East Side, just off Rue Ste Catherine. 1950 Boulevard de Maisonneuve Est 1-514-597-0010 Metro Station: Papineau http://www.taboomontreal.ca Open 7:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. every day of the year. Never a cover charge. Only street parking, but only 1/2 block from Green Line metro stop, "Papineau." 5 minute walk to J.P.'s Cabaret stripper bar and ten minute walk to STOCK and CAMPUS. 15 good restaurants along Rue Ste Catherine within 10 minute walk. Runway stage with pole; tiered seating with tables on west; pool table and table seating on east. Bar on south side. Dancers perform "fast song" in clothes, gradually stripping; they then perform "slow dance" totally nude (unlike other "nude" bars in town where dancers occasionally pull their briefs down, but otherwise dance in pants); dancers at TABOO are also noted for really dancing and putting on a pleasing performance. 5-10 dancers per evening (at this time) Dancers are all young (18+) and smooth and tend to be slender but cute. Lap dance room in back with benches along walls. Communal space; there is not individual privacy. Lap dances are $12 / song. Your boy will dance totally nude just for you, close up, on a little circular platform directly in front of you. Rules state no contact. Dancers in briefs circulate between performances to sit and chat with customers. If a particular boy interests you but does not come by your table, it is perfectly acceptable (and recommended) that you walk over to him and ask him to join you. Tipping is normally done only in lap dance room; buying drinks for dancers is often done. Inviting dancers to have lunch or dinner privately the next day and perhaps stroll the city is often done and sometimes accepted. Do not be offended if they decline; they do have other lives of their own and other responsibilities for their time. But enjoying a meal in the Village with a cute French Canadian boy can be a very enjoyable experience. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Montreal%202008/taboobar.jpg
  5. . Several years ago, Washington, D.C. had four male stripper clubs where dancers performed totally nude every night. They were delightful. But then all four were torn down, along with hundreds of other buildings on the S.E. side of Washington, to make way for the new stadium. So WET, FOLLIES, and LA CAGE are gone. Most unfortunately. SECRETS / ZIEGFIELD'S Stripper bar and drag show venue on South Side of Washington, D.C., just off Capitol St. S. 1824 Half Street SW 202-863-0670 http://www.secretsdc.com Open Wed-Sun from 9:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. (Not open Mon and Tues) No cover Wed and Thurs; $5 cover on Fri and Sat from 9:00-10:30; $10 after Club is located in an industrial park area south of Capitol, one block from large police station. Some parking in front of building, but taking a cab is easier. Ground floor is Ziegfield's Nightclub for drag shows and used only Fri and Sat. Stripper area is on second floor, up another flight of stairs. Huge open rectangular room. Two bars along East wall. Shower room with glass wall for watching. 4-8 dancers at a time perform totally nude on platforms scattered around the room; they dance in 20 minute sets and then rotate. Total of 16-24 dancers; varied types; few twinks; some average builds; some buff; and some muscular. You can get as close as you want to each dancer and watch, but no touching above knees or below waist; policy enforced by dancers and management. So it is mostly visual, but you tuck $1 tips into their socks, if desired. No lap dance area and no dark corners. Large dance floor for customers and people usually dancing; usually women present. Not much seating. Door man is always helpful; there are usually taxis waiting when you leave, but if not, doorman will call and get one for you quickly. Cabs in D.C. are not expensive, charge by zones not miles.
  6. Article from a recent issue of The Onion: Report: 65% Of All Wildlife Now Used As Homosexual Subculture Signifier October 21, 2009 | Issue 45•43 PALO ALTO, CA—A study released Tuesday by the Stanford University Department of Linguistics revealed that nearly two-thirds of all animal species have been adopted to describe various gay subcultures. "Many know that bears are large hairy gay men, and that otters are homosexuals who are smaller in stature but still hirsute," said Professor Arvid Sabin, lead author of the study, which also clarifies such denotations as wolf, panda bear, dragonfly, starfish, trout, and yeti. "But do they know, for instance, that 'chicken' is used to describe a thin, inexperienced 18- to 29-year-old gay male? Before long, we could see homosexuals referring to one another as pelicans or even Gila monsters." The study concluded that if immediate conservation measures are not taken, all animal species will be exhausted by 2015 and the gay community will have to start dipping into the plant kingdom. ...
  7. Anyone else enjoy doing these puzzles? Best book of published very difficult sudoku puzzles that I have found is "1,036 Extreme Sudoku Challenges" by Frank Longo and published by Sterling Publishing. The puzzles are all very good and difficult, and the book was only $5 remaindered at Barnes and Noble. The scale is large, and the paper is good quality that takes plenty of erasing easily. Mr. Longo had difficulty creating really tough puzzles in his earlier publications, and I was disappointed in them. But he finally caught on and learned how, and this is an excellent book. I am just beginning on KenKen, but have not been able to find a good book with plenty of 5x5, 6x6, and larger puzzles. Will Shortz seems to have a near monopoly on publishing KenKen in the U.S. I find the 7x7 and higher very difficult, at least for now. Does anybody do the larger puzzles, 8x8 and 9x9? If you want to sample, you can go to http://www.nytimes.com/puzzles and click on KenKen. They publish three different 4x4 puzzles and 6x6 puzzles every day. At http://www.kenken.com, they publish a 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 square puzzle each day. They both use the same software, which is quite good. The 4, 5, and 6 puzzles tend to be solved quickly, IMO.
