  1. Le Boy in Fort Lauderdale was quite good tonight with a nice group of good looking twinks, all twinks. Valet parking is $5; no cover charge; and drinks are reasonable. I don't know about ownership. A bartender told me there are two owners, Dave and Gale (?), but a dancer told me there were legal problems and Sean is acting owner. I don't know. But the bartender said changes were coming slowly, but they were good. The bathrooms are going to be redone. The stage has been redecorated, and it is good. And I noticed other things. The boys almost all wore slender black jock straps with a thong in back, so you could enjoy the asses of almost all the dancers, and they were smooth, round, and luscious. Each dancer performed longer than in the past; there is not a quick rotation. The music was improved in two ways: it was not as loud as it used to be, and there was much greater variety, including Latin music and ballads. Dancers told me the new dj also takes requests from the dancers, so they feel more comfortable dancing. Which is very different than in the past, when hard rock and heavy metal at ear-drum piercing levels were played. No tiny twinks and no big muscles, no old guys, nobody hairy, but lots of good builds in between. Ronnie was the standout - gorgeous, beautiful body kept in shape with lots of time at the gym, smooth, a most delicious ass, and very accommodating at the bar. He had a sense of humor; he teased; he offered his ass; and he was an excellent showman. David was extremely handsome and did an exceptional performance with professional dance moves and stretches. He dances with a modern dance company in Miami. Great body, great smile, great performance, nice to talk with. Christiano is a college student, bright, nice body, in perpetual motion, loves to dance. Michael was a new dancer, from Cuba, nice but shy as he figures out what is going on. A very nice young dancer from Peru was good. At one point, two shorter dancers, a little blond and a little Latino, danced together on stage, partially synchronized. It was entertaining and fun. There were about eight other dancers/twinks, and in general, they walked around the bar periodically. You could catch any one of them. Good crowd of customers. I don't know what the situation is with lap dances; I assume the same. But it was a very pleasant evening enjoying a good number of very nice, smooth, young, pleasant, smiling, almost all bare young guys. It is certainly worth a visit if you enjoy twinks.
  2. Re; Tom Katt I agree. The Tom Katt I remember was a big body-builder type. I didn't recognize this one.
  3. Amazing video listing about 100 dead gay porn stars, a picture, and cause of death with dates. Brought back many memories.
  4. There are two recent rather long interviews with him, which are quite good. https://avn.com/business/articles/gay/the-william-higgins-interview-part-1-805592.html https://avn.com/business/articles/gay/the-william-higgins-interview-part-2-805644.html

He is also playing the love interest for Jo in the new "Little Women," to be released in three days, on Christmas.
  6. Gay porn producer and pioneer William Higgins has died in Amsterdam at 77 of an apparent heart attack. He has been producing gay porn for 40 years. Most recently he has worked in Prague. Interesting life.
  7. Any news on the new bar, Exposé, which is in Adonis' old location?
  8. Historic Note: Stock was originally located above a Vietnamese Restaurant across the street from the St. André Hotel on Rue St. André. You climbed a wrought iron staircase outside to get up there. In winter, when the steps were covered in ice and you had a couple of drinks, it was a bit dicey.
  9. I have just looked at reviews, and they are very good for both Suites LaBelle and Fairfield Marriott. I think I might try one of them and lock in a low price now. Hotwire shows perhaps the best rates.
  10. There are a couple of other hotels near the area. Hotel Suites LaBelle is an all suites hotel half a block from the Gouverneur. I have never stayed there. The prices are really low in March, so you wold really save money. But check out reviews. Hotel St. Denis is a couple blocks away, but has very low rates in March, and it was highly rated by someone on this board a year or so ago. I have never stayed there.
  11. One block from the Gouverneur/Dupuis is a Fairfield by Marriott, which has just completed a total remake from when it was the "Lord Berri." I have not stayed there, but I stopped in the lobby and talked with desk clerks. Free breakfast included, and the dining area looked pleasant. Rates in March start at $141 plus fees. It is only a block from the Dupuis/Gouverneur, so it would still be easy walking to bars. It is next to the big Archambault music store and across the street from one of the university buildings, half a block to the metro. Apparently, the former Hyatt on the Place des Arts is now a Doubletree. It's a little too far for walking, but it has a great location. It is on top of the Centre Dupuis, a large indoor mall with lots of restaurants and fast-casual on the lower level. Hotel connects directly underground to the metro, the opera house and the concert hall. Prices for March look like $149. It was a very nice hotel when I stayed there in the past, exceptionally large rooms. You can usually get a discount for AAA or AARP or if you stay several days or if you pay ahead (and you're especially nice to the reservations clerk). It has had several owners, and each time they redo it, they give reduced prices for a while to attract customers. I think it is that time for Doubletree.
  12. The last train on each metro line leaves between 12:30 and 1:00 a.m. After that, it is taxi or walk. There is a taxi stand with a line of taxis always outside Taboo's door. Many of the reviews of the Dupuis look bad. All I can say is that I stayed there in September. The room was large and clean. I got a low price, so I did not have a premium room. It was perfectly quiet. The a/c and heating worked just fine. All hotel staff were warm and helpful: the desk clerks, the concierge, the chamber maids. When I go out in the morning, I always make a point to say good morning to the maid on the floor and tell her I am leaving to go out and my room number. Always, the room is clean with lots of fresh towels by the time I get back at 1, or 2 or 3 and expect company. The towels were always clean, and many of them, as were the bed linens. The shower pressure was just fine and hot water fine. The coffee maker worked fine. I don't use refrigerator or microwave, so I don't care. I had no problem finding an outlet to recharge my camera battery. There were no stains on my carpet or ceiling. I never saw a bug. There is a popular bar for drinks on the 2nd floor, so I don't understand the criticism. It was much used while I was there. Delvalboy asked for hotels in a certain price range. None of the downtown hotels fall within this category, I think. The Sheraton has dates in March, but starting at $270. Etc. There have been several good reports about airbnb, so that might be the way to go.
  13. Delvalboy, The Gouverneur Hotel is not shabby. It is very acceptable and used by Quebecois, French-Canadian visitors, and families on many repeat visits. It is not luxury, but there is nothing wrong with it. It is 29 stories high (I think), so you have size, services, and anonymity, if you wish. No problems or questions with guests. You can find good prices for it on many of the discount sites (priceline, hotwire) and sometimes the hotel site itself. You can usually get it for a base price of $104-$127 (and sometimes under $100), plus taxes and fees. It is your best buy in the Village. The Gouverneur is part of a full square block of buildings, including offices, banks, shops, drugstore, etc. On the ground floor of the complex is a large, new food court with a dozen different fast casual cuisines with large open area for seating; many singles eat there. There is also a large IGA grocery with a superb bakery, where you can get fresh croissants every hour of the day. They also have many prepared salads, veggies, sandwiches, etc. which are sometimes useful. There are numerous fast-casual restaurants along Ste. Catherine, which is right outside the hotel. St. Hubertus is fine and inexpensive and plenty of room for singles. From the Gouverneur you walk underground to the Berri-Uqam metro station and also to the splendid national library and the campus of UQAM (University of Quebec in Montreal). It is an urban campus with all buildings connected underground. Montreal also has an Underground City downtown filled with shops and restaurants and connected to all the major buildings downtown, so winter or bad weather is no hindrance. A different approach to intense winter than the skyway system of the Twin Cities. And March will still be part of winter in Montreal. Getting from the airport to the Gouverneur is very easy. Get on the 747 bus at the airport and ride to the Berri-Uqam stop (simply ask the driver). It is the last stop before the bus station and one block away from the hotel, straight ahead. Or take the 747 to its first stop, Lionel Groulx Metro, and transfer to the Green Line or Orange Line metro and ride to the Berri-Uqam metro stop. Your bus ticket is good for all buses and metros for 24 hours. So you simply use that ticket. If you plan much use of the metro, the next day is a good time since you have a free pass for that 24 hours. The ticket costs $10 CD. (That's about $7.50 US these days and a great bargain.) You buy them from a machine in the airport, close to the doors to outside. Get two and save the other one for when you return to the airport; you won't have to fool around with buying a return ticket. The Gouverneur is a 5 minute walk to Campus, another 2 minutes to Stock and another 5 minutes to Taboo. If this is your first visit to Montreal, you ought to at least stop in at all three venues for a few minutes. Be aware that they will vary from night to night, so try them more than once, and they will be busier after 9:00 rather then before. Their best nights are usually Wed-Sat. The hotel is a 15-20 minutes easy walk down to the Old City, harbor, and Place Jacques Cartier. This is the 18th century part of town, filled with restaurants, tourist shops, art galleries, and the Grande Roue, a very large ferris wheel with little cabins, from which you get splendid views of the city and harbor. Bon voyage!
  14. I agree. I enjoyed it very much, more than I had expected. Laura Carmichael was finally fulfilled - self-confident, in charge, well dressed, no more whining or complaining. She walked differently; she carried herself differently. "Andy," Laura's real life bf, was also very good; he has grown much as a character since he first appeared in the background. Michelle Dockery amazes me. As Lady Mary, she is articulate, immaculately and impeccably and superbly dressed, looks straight at the camera, is sure of herself. In tv interviews, she stutters, is nearly inarticulate, and dresses like an old hippy. Even on the red carpet, I have never seen her in a really good dress. Her final beaded silver and black Art Deco gown in the film was stunning, and she wore it beautifully. The costumer found it in a flea market; it was only knee length. They hired someone to complete the dress to floor length. Beautiful. Michelle's bobbed-hair wig was perfect; in real life, her hair looks mangy and just hangs there. She doesn't know what to do with it.
  15. I don't want to hijack the thread on Taboo. On Wednesday evening I went to Campus at 7:00 p.m. There were three customers at the bar and no dancers in the room. There was one dancer down on the sidewalk, smoking, and I would not be interested in seeing him on stage. On Thursday at 7:00 there were five customers at the bar and no dancers in the room. There were two homely, grungy guys smoking outside. On Saturday at 7:00 there were, I think, five dancers, all of whom looked like rejects from Stock. There were two songs between each dance, so you waited and waited. Four of the dancers had bellies which hung over the waistband of their underwear; two were covered in tattoos. Four were wearing grungy, what appeared to be dirty, pants and shirts, and oversized shoes. All were very unappealing. There was no admission or cover charge at any time. It's very bad. I hope they can recover.
  16. On the three nights I stopped in at Campus, there was no admission charge / cover charge, but also no dancers. Sad.
  17. This is only for those who enjoy twinks. Last Saturday, I enjoyed one of the best evenings ever in the past 20 years at Taboo. There were twelve dancers, eight of them stunning and the most beautiful and handsome dancers Taboo has ever had. The other four were OK, but not stunning. I could still enjoy watching them perform. On Wednesday night I stopped in at 9:00, and there were three customers at the bar and no dancers in sight. So I left and assumed Taboo was going trough another bad period. On Thursday night, I tried again, and I was blown over. There were eight dancers, four of them absolutely outstanding. The other four, on the other hand, were really bad, including one guy with long straggly hair, long shaggy beard, and with a very hairy ass. But the good four made up for it. They were all perfect twinks, young, cute, smooth, and with swimmers' builds - no skinny guys at all. Lap dances with all of them were absolute delights. I had not been so elated with dancers in many years. MARCO - was gorgeous, 24 years old, sandy hair, golden pubes, beautiful smooth torso and legs and fine ass. He said he was skinny as a teenager, but has since put on the perfect weight. He is tall and splendid, cooperative and interactive, humorous and warm. DRAKE - was 19, alabaster white, sweet round ass, long straight legs, nice torso, cute face and nice hair, smooth, fairly new to this but having fun. Great laugh, gentle, cooperative, flexible, giving. JOEY - was 24 and the most active guy in the back room; I think he was there all night going from one customer to the next. And worth it. Cute face, very nice smooth body, round firm ass, very nice cock, absolutely smooth and soft. He was passionate and affectionate and did everything possible to please clients. FRANKIE - was an Arab boy from Lebanon, sweet and smooth and exotic and delicious. He had dark short hair and eyes, a beautiful torso, a full round ass, nice straight legs, well endowed, great smile, olive skin rather than white, and enjoyed performing on stage ad pleasing you in back. There were no (or almost none) tattoos on these boys, they were smooth shave, had nice haircuts, and were breathtaking. But then on Saturday, there was the incredible show. Eight perfect beautiful dancers with continuous performances, no music interludes, all night long. (Campus is in a very bad period; one or two songs between each dance by a reject from Stock.) Unfortunately, no one actually dances nude. Yes, during the slow dance, they lower their briefs for 15-20 seconds and show front and aft, but then they pull them up again. Bad Stock practices have spread. So I decided not to bother with the performances, but enjoy lap dances all night long. At $15 each, you can enjoy a great deal for a long time. Especially after two hotel no-shows, I had money to burn. NICK - was 24 and incredible, looked like the college quarterback you wanted, gorgeous body, ripe full ass, firm straight cock, smooth as silk and soft to the touch, great abs, delicious legs, handsome face, sweet and gentle in personality. He turned around, bent over, and winked his jewel for me. So sweet. He played soccer, rugby, skateboarded and snowboarded. JIMMIE - was only 18, had his birthday in June and started working last month. He was as cute and handsome and beautiful as an 18 year old male can be. Sandy hair, blue eyes, swimmer's body, utterly smooth and silky and soft to the touch, a beautiful round young ass, lovely legs, not a pimple or mark on him, affectionate, willing, cooperative, eager to please but still a little shy. MARCO, JOEY, and FRANKIE were also there. EMILIO - was the handsomest boy, 24 years old and the much better-looking brother of Timothee Chalemet. His family is from Colombia, but he was born in Montreal. His family speaks French at home. His English is excellent, learned only from English language music. Black, luxuriant hair, jet black eyes, slightly brown skin, and the perfect body - stunning face, beautiful torso, sweet round firm ass, long straight legs, he's a grower and it becomes very nice. Sweetest pink pucker, great smile, sense of humor, affectionate, warm, ready to please and happy to do so. If I could take one home, it would have been Emilio. Or maybe Nick. JAMES - could be good, but currently has no ass; he has got to work on it. Nice face and hair, great abs and torso, nice legs, likes performing, but flat rear end. QUINN - could be good. Nice face and body, good ass and legs, smiles, smooth, handsome. Somehow, he did not excite me. DARREN - a little shorter, beard stubble (bad), good performance on stage, did shower show, well equipped when he stripped, a little chunky. ALEX - tall slender, olive skinned, dark hair, smooth. If I had more time, I might have tried him. JAYCE - handsome smooth black dancer. PENCE (?) - skinny guy who was there last year and was wearing the same baseball shirt. I don't know how often Taboo can put on a show like this, certainly not every night. But when the stars align, as they did last Saturday, the fireworks were spectacular. No other bar on earth can offer such an array. __
  18. LeBoy is still the only place to enjoy twinks in Fort Lauderdale. A couple of weeks ago, during the week, there were more than a dozen cute young guys, a few Latinos but just as many not. No muscles and no very thin dancers. I had a continuous parade in my lap at the bar all evening. They will stay with you as long as you periodically slip a bill in their briefs. They have eliminated the "Champagne Room," and that is merely an alcove now. The dance platform in back has also been eliminated. Rates for lap dances have come down a bit. $29 for 7 minutes ($20 for dancer and $9 for house). $49 (or $59, I don't remember) for 15 minutes. And there are longer periods also. Complete privacy in back. The boys are anxious to make money. Have fun.
  19. The area for danseurs was on the second floor at the west end, up one flight from that door on Ste Catherine. The stage was kind of like a boxing arena, with seats all around; lap dances were in a room to the side, with huge hanging curtains; the ceiling was very high. There were sometimes some cute dancers. There was a fire which destroyed/damaged the space, and it was never restored. There were rumors of arson, but nothing definite. The crowds were never large, but it was a nice fifth stripper bar in Montreal for a while. Name, I think, was "Nirvana."
  20. Tom of Finland was born May 8, 1920.
  21. It's the Radisson Royal Hotel in Moscow. Luxury, 5 star.

  23. . Le Boy on Friday Night (prepared for Dec. 1) Last night (Friday) I tried Le Boy, and it was better than ever, and probably better than any night had ever been at Johnny's. There were 20-25 dancers (there were so many, and I was so busy having fun, that I couldn't get an exact count). And all of them were good and good looking and ready to provide fun. When I asked, dancers told me Thursday, Friday, or Saturday could be the best night of the week; it varied. But always, there is a surge of customers at 11:00, who stay until 1:00. Last night at 11:00, a huge surge in the crowd filled both the bar and the patio. After 1:00 the crowd thins out, but the customers who remain tend to have money and are ready to spend. More lap dances occur during this time than during the rest of the night, I was told. I looked at Le Boy's Instagram page on the web. The impression you get is not accurate, although not intentionally. None of these dancers are going to make this their profession, and the turn over is considerable. Of all the dancers pictured, perhaps three are actually dancing currently. In addition, many dancers do not want their pictures posted on the internet as dancers in a stripper bar. College students and those with career ambitions certainly come to mind. None of my favorites were pictured. So don't go to Le Boy with the expectation you will meet the bois described here, but you will meet similar. Currently the management seems to have a good system of recruitment and lots of attractive dancers. There are no muscle men and no skinny fem-boys. There are some beautiful athletic bodies and swimmer's physiques. In addition to previous very nice guys like Alan and Miguel and Miles and Chris, there were lots of new guys. Here are some new dancers who stood out. AARON - is from Boston, slight in build, handsome, very affectionate, exceptionally endowed. He is bright, charming, and loves to be petted. FRANCO - is from Brazil, utterly charming, beautiful and handsome, with a firm beautiful swimmer's build, very well endowed, with nice legs and ass. He is charming, flirtatious, engaging. ESTEBAN - is from Colombia, with a cute face, slender but not skinny body, smooth skin all over, and delicious ass. TOMMY / JIMMY - is from South Florida, with both parents Vietnamese. Like many of the dancers, he is native born of immigrant parents. Jimmy is cute, petite, very nice body, excellent dancer, part-time bar back, and well educated, charming and entertaining. DIGGY - is from Cuba, and has an amazing body, although not big and bulky. He is in the martial arts, and hopes to achieve his Black Belt in the next year. I have never seen or felt a harder, muscled body in my life. He had a perfect 6 pack, splendid pecs, was beautifully developed all over. But he is not a body builder. He also liked affection and was fun to pet. FRANCISCO - is a cute, warm, affectionate guy from Venezuela. He has a dazzling smile, is a good conversationalist, and is a very good dancer. Very nice swimmer's body. EDDY - was a new dancer from Venezuela. __
  24. . If you are at all interested in art, the two biggest and best art fairs in the world will be coming to Miami and Miami Beach from Dec. 4-9. The fairs bring together hundreds of the best galleries in the world, with all of their treasures, as well as hundreds of smaller galleries and individual artist representing the best of contemporary art. It would be impossible to see this much art anywhere else, anytime. And the location is superb - South Florida in the winter, with sunny days and temperatures probably in the low 80s, sunny skies, and balmy evenings so you can eat outdoors. And it is a great deal of fun. The number of openings, receptions, and parties, as well as the major art exhibitions is tremendous. If you can and are serious, plan on spending at least two days at each, to really be able to see and enjoy the work. Then there are all the other "satellite" fairs. If you have never been, Art Miami is held in a gigantic tent right alongside Biscayne Bay and is celebrating its 29th year as an event. The huge rectangular space is divided by aisles, alongside which are several hundred booths. Many galleries spend thousands of dollars creating their booths. Each displays the best work it has for sale. Artists create large scale works if they hope to sell them to museums; they create smaller, human-scaled works for sale to individuals and to make a living. You never would see these works except at the fairs; they spend their entire lives in private collections, giving someone great pleasure. At the fairs, you get to share that pleasure for a time. For example, Robert Motherwell paintings in museums are all gigantic "Elegy to the Spanish Republic" paintings. But Motherwell spent of his time creating smaller, wonderful works in a variety of media. His is always one of my favorites to look for. Helen Frankenthaler is known for her huge soak-and-stain paintings, which museums crave. But it is the smaller prints, some woodblocks, which are glorious and gorgeous, and they will be at the fairs. There will be lots of Warhol, more than you would see in any individual museum. Especially this year, with the big retrospective at the Whitney giving him lots of publicity. But this is South Florida, with a large Latino population. Both fairs will have a good selection of prime works by Latin American artists, from Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo to Fernando Botero, Gunther Gerszo, and fiber artists from Brazil and Argentina. There will also be more Asian artists, as American galleries look for the best art from China and Japan. And gallery dealers are always on hand to explain and talk about the art. So I always learn a tremendous amount each year. Art Miami is in Miami across the street from the Arsht Center for the Arts and right alongside Biscayne Bay. Lots of parking at the Omni Garage one block away. Public transportation: take the Bright Line train to the Miami station and switch to the free people mover (elevated train) going to the Arsht Center. Art Basel is at the big Convention Center in Miami Beach. Traffic will be heavy, but the municipal ramp right across the street is very large and cheap, and valet parking is not really bad and very convenient. If you like art or are interested in art, it really is worth a trip to Miami and Miami Beach. https://www.artmiami.com/ https://www.artbasel.com/miami-beach/at-the-show
