This week has been the Figure Skating World Championships in Milan. They were quite good. The French couple, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron, won the gold medal for Ice Dancing, and they were superb. Guillaume apparently also models for underwear ads. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Cizeron%2001.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Cizeron%2005.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Cizeron%2002.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Cizeron%2003.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x167/edith_piaf/Cizeron%2004.jpg

The full commentary for the film by Timmy and Michael Stuhlbarg is now on Youtube, at least for a while. No visuals, but full audio.

I'm a bit curious about the source of the salaries of the actors. From the beginning, the film was reported as costing a total of $3.5 million. But if the salaries given above are added together, and they do not include Luca's or the cinematographer's, etc., they total nearly $3 million. This would mean that all expenses and the hundreds of people who worked on the film (Sufdan, photographers, sound engineers, editing people, rental of equipment, etc. etc.) shared $.5 million. This seems unlikely.

Nice idea. Harriet Goodhue Hosmer (October 9, 1830 – February 21, 1908) was a neoclassical sculptor, considered the most distinguished female sculptor in America during the 19th century. She is known as the first female professional sculptor. Hosmer once lived in an expatriate colony in Rome, befriending many prominent writers and artists. Henry James described Harriet and her female friends in Rome as "that marmorean flock," because they all worked in white marble. They were very productive, and their works were in great demand, so they often made a number of copies of a popular sculpture and often hired Italian craftsmen to carve copies. I think there are multiple copies of the "Sleeping Faun." There is one in the High Museum in Atlanta. Perhaps her most famous and popular sculpture was "Puck" in a variety of poses. The Smithsonian National Museum of American Art has several, I think. This is the most popular.

Roger, There are several versions of the French show on Youtube; at least one of them has good English subtitles. One of the videos lasts 23 minutes, so I don't know how long the guys actually talked, but it was quite a while. One factoid for me was that the original script was to be bilingual, Italian and English, but when "they" realized Timmy could speak French, they added French to the mixture. I'm not sure who made the decision: Luca? Mr. Spears? One of the other producers? I don't think it was Ivory.

For the time being at least the complete soundtrack of CMBYN is available on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Oo4h0iyex4 And so is the complete audiobook at 7 hours 45 min. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9g-Ig1-Wxk

They did an interview in French several days ago on the French tv program, "Quotidien." They were very good; Timmy was excellent; and the host and questions were very good. It is a very enjoyable interview. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avDz6tjzw7I There is a second part to this you can find, and maybe even a third. Apparently, after the first long segment, they had a musical group play, and then the interview continued. It is almost a half hour of interview in total.
