I prefer to go without draping. I will offer to use draping if the provider will be more comfortable but rarely asks. If the provider doesnt ask about draping and depending on there ad, it has tended to get sensual. Though, I would say communications is important. I just saw a new to me massage provider from MF. He can go "call on" pretty much any provider when he wants to. For myself and certain others, the very first thing I do is ask them "are you okay with clients of my ethnicity."
 
If the reply is no, we spare ourselves an uncomfortable in-person rejection. If the reply is yes, it can still create a dynamic where the patron still feels "less than" because he had to ask in the first place. But in my experience, better to check than get rejected.

Albuquerque is the second of my possible post-SF cities.

My first recommendation would be Philadelphia; of really big cities, it is probably the cheapest to live in (that doesn't mean that someone coming from the South would consider it cheap, however). Twenty years ago I would have said Portland, but housing cost there is rising fast. A favorite of mine is Salt Lake City, but the air pollution there is becoming a problem. Someplace inexpensive and very gay friendly, in a low key way, is Albuquerque.

I grew up in the east, and took Horace Greeley's advice to "Go west, young man." Never regretted it. I've lived in SF for almost 30 years and it has been go, go, go nonstop.
