I don't initiate discussions with a masseur about potential sensual/erotic elements of the massage. I do research on the guy (e.g., ads, reviews, this forum), take a risk, and hope for the best (I've had wonderful surprises and frustrating disappointments). I'm, however, cool with a strictly therapeutic massage as long as it's skillfully performed. I have asked about erotic massage in the past but stopped because 1) answers don't always reflect behavior (YMMV), and 2) I feel creepy and lecherous if they say no.
My behavior does result in me not knowing what to expect, which can be exciting. I've, for example, hired guys from MF who I assumed would be strictly therapeutic but were borderline escorts. I've also hired guys on rentmasseur who, despite checking "erotic" and having sexy pics, did not offer an erotic massage. Furthermore, various combinations of nudity, MT, and HE might be included in a massage. I recently had a massage from a guy who checked "erotic" on rentmasseur and had nude private pics. Although he was nude and allowed MT, he spontaneously mentioned during the massage that he didn't provide HE. I respect masseurs' boundaries, but they need to ensure that their advertisements reflect what they provide. Perhaps I'm tacky, but it's unlikely that I'm going to call a massage "erotic" if the masseur didn't touch my dick.
