Medellin trip: entry and reentry requirements
+ tassojunior replied to Doe Be Doe's topic in The Travel Desk
Antigen and anti-body tests are also different and one is accepted one isn't. PCR's are always accepted but take a long time. Here's a good summary/help list. Finding those tests overseas to take before your flight home is a PITA. You would think they'd be everywhere and hotels, airlines, airports, the gov't etc would help.....Nope. To fly from Toronto to Buffalo 1 hour you must be vaccinated, take a test a day before, wear N-95 masks, and not take them off at all. To fly from the most-infected place on the east coast of the US to the least infected place on the west coast for 5 hours packed like sardines, you do not need to be vaccinated, you do not need to take a test, you only need a flimsy mask which you don't need to wear while eating or drinking, and there's not even contact tracing. Politics and theater. -
'Queer Films Could Sweep Awards as ‘The Power of the Dog’ and ‘Flee’ Gain Momentum As with Dune, I think it's good to bone up just a little before watching (like the meaning of the title and on anthrax) and be on alert for very subtle plot changers. (You'll still miss 1 or 2 main points). All the characters are 100% perfectly done. Amazing movie and everyone is taking their own evaluation in the press. All excellent. After Brokeback Mountain was snubbed many years ago for that awful "Crash", gay plots and subplots are doing well now.

Most overrated/underrated tourist attraction
+ tassojunior replied to BSR's topic in The Travel Desk
Most underrated: The Gold Museum , Bogota. Hundreds of Pre-Columbian pieces of jewelry and artifacts, most in solid gold and displayed perfectly. -
I assume this is the back entrance bar at the Gold Club? Off and on it's been male strippers for many years and some incredibly hot ones. RIP Atlantis. Sad day when it turned straight. I remember one dancer would park his camper outside for privates lol.

Medicare question, supplemental vs. advantage?
+ tassojunior replied to MikeBiDude's topic in Men's Health
While working I was in the GWU HMO and upon retirement and Medicare went into the Kaiser Advantage HMO. So I've been in "managed care" all my adult life. Because of the worker shortage Kaiser is on hard times staff-wise right now but I'm not sure that doesn't also affect "private" MD's, maybe more. There are changes to prescription etc benefits in the proposed BBB bill that may make a difference between plans but they're not set to start for a few years, if passed. The upside to Advantage is the freebies like most drugs, gym memberships, hearing aids, glasses, and some dental. Also worldwide coverage so no need to buy travel insurance. The downside is extreme exposure to clerical/nurse understaffing; ie 1 of 2 prep nurses leave and an 8-doctor team is crippled. Also since specialists are very shared, any shortage ripples down into long waits for appointments. But I think private MD's have the same problems now. -
from what I hear from several 1st-rate escort friends, business is so slow they very much appreciate a new client.

Funny as Americans have gotten bigger (waist-wise) how economy seats have gotten smaller. (or not funny if you're the fat guy trying to squeeze in.)
-
amazingly to many of our physically bright guys, the natural instinct when covid cuts your clients in half is to charge 2x as much to the remaining clients to make up the difference, pushing demand to zero. the shortage is mostly clients, not providers.

I think it's always best to book awards since they are almost never in basic and easily refundable. Otherwise if you pay $ and have a checked bag the game is to get your attention but have you upgrade to Main. I booked a Delta promo 32K WAS to BCN for 32K RT. Delta advertises that route for $600 but that is for Basic. Main is more like $750. Delta also has Premium Select 90K RT many US cities to many European cities. Tempting. Their PS is A+. Also, TAP is really making a move on US markets to Europe with new cheap nonstops from many cities.

that kitten is so fucked for life now
-
Check out all the new fares from TAP to Europe with free stopovers in Lisbon. Mostly $349 RT steerage and very cheap but very nice Biz.

amateurs who try for outlandish rates get much less (or zero) pros know to find a motel room with a revolving door or at least an entrance and an exit at whatever the highest bid is for next one up.

Actually wasn't any judgement but an IRS audit that showed the club didn't pay over any withheld taxes or pay any employment taxes for years and did not pay any salary under state law. I was surprised they didn't seize the club and property. But it's been several years and Uncle Sam doesn't wait forever. I hope Matt's covered for that issue in FTL as employment taxes are tough and strippers can be complainers. https://images.law.com/contrib/content/uploads/documents/404/13912/Casey-v.-Swinging-Richards-complaint-NDGa.pdf

Austria Makes Covid Vaccine Mandatory for Entire Population
+ tassojunior replied to lonely_john's topic in Men's Health
Obviously the N95's are "safer" and why extreme conditions require them by law and many surgeons actually use them, not "surgical" masks. My dentists use them also. They are expensive and a PITA to put on with the two loops over the back of your head, not ears, and hard to breathe in. I think most international airlines accept KN-95 masks which are the Chinese "equivalent" but have ear loops and are cone-shaped instead of round (and fold flat). I can't seem to breathe in the N-95's much but the KN-95's are fine. The only problem is a lot of KN-95's have slots of holes which make them compromised. I put tape over the holes inside. They're comfortable (and easier on the wallet too). With Delta 100x more contagious and the new variant 1000x more contagious, I'm not sure how protective cheap masks are anymore for catching or spreading. Fauci's advice 2 years ago that masks do nothing to protect may finally be coming true. -
Neighborhood got too expensive.

And now it's settled in a democratic way and has virtually unanimous support for a democratic decision. I think about the same margin would back similar covid laws in most countries. Unfortunately in countries like ours, 38% is too high a % to offend and most of them feel they are in the majority unless clearly shown otherwise. So we still let unvaccinated people fly and don't require vaccine cards for most things. -

While Austria is mandating vaccines for all, next-door Switzerland is voting tomorrow (Sunday) in a nation-wide referendum on whether to do away with vaccine and lockdown requirements. It should be a fair view of how the people feel. If a new variant is resistant to the present covid vaccines and also doesn't help prevent serious cases, then vaccines are still going to be required as virtue signaling (ie: to show you're not a Republican), as flimsy masks are now. 10% of the 600 passengers from two planes in Amsterdam tested positive last night even though I assume most were vaccinated. Hopefully the vaccines are still effective at preventing serious cases, like they are with Delta. -

Unfortunately obesity is the #1 mortality factor for covid. Should people who don't lose weight to prevent covid death be excluded from hospitals too? -
Not sure if I've mentioned but Delta now has US to Barcelona for 32K miles roundtrip from now until late March. Also London but there's a $220 fee and tests there. Main Coach, not Basic Economy, with checked bag, seat, and changes, etc. For the next several months Avianca and most airlines also have $200 roundtrips to Bogota from most of the US. That covers about half the world's "masseur" saunas (Brazil has the other half). Delta also has most of the US, including HI to most of Europe the next few months for 90K RT in their snazzy Premium Select cabin.

Any feedback on Tesla Model 3 automobiles?
+ tassojunior replied to Antonio1981's topic in The Lounge
Bingo. But since hybrids like mine have been around for many years (also like mine) with no big added expense for the drive battery, I doubt the battery tech is the stall or expense. Once a factory is up and running the 1-millionth or 2 millionth just marginally cost the raw materials, electricity used and labor (and labor's mostly robots now anyway). -

Internal combustion engines and drivetrains are much more complex than electrics and so the cost of electrics should start down. Also, the simplicity will bring more competitors. I think Telsa assumes they will stay more expensive and I can't imagine that for long. The Chinese are already making $5000 electrics and all the European companies are going all-electric. The new Infrastructure bill has huge subsidies for Big 3- US unionized companies' electrics (ie: not Tesla). Personally I don't care if a car runs on cow piss, I'm more interested in Auto-Pilot asap. -
We overconcentrate on a few OF guys who do extremely well. That also leads everyone and their brother to try and get rich on OF and RM escorts try to supplement with OF. Very few make much on OF. Even obsessive subscribers drop off quick. And now that the deal is to charge $20 to watch amateurish and repetitive short videos they're running into the same internet free re-posting that took the porn industry down. I would imagine there are many more escorts/masseurs than OF guys with a reasonable following. But even if there are more OF biggies, when you count all the strippers, unadvertised escorts, etc I'm pretty sure the OF guys who make a living off it are a small % of guys in the trade. Also, there are some OK looking guys with sexiness on OF who are not sexy in person and vice-versa. And the fact there are so few OF guys in hot escort markets like LA, NY and DC and so very many in poor markets like Columbia makes the marginal profit point pretty clear. 99% of guys who can do 1 or 2 easy in-calls a day at say $300, make more than 99% of OF guys.

Not really. I have some apts. I rent and depend on them for $1 liquid plumber, windex, disinfectant sprays, cleaning supplies, paint brushes, drop cloths, gallons of bleach, etc etc but usually pick up some neat things too. The general feel in the store is everything is so cheap it seems free. DollarTree is WalMart's big competitor in household goods and WalMart, before pandemic, marketed identical items for 88 cents (now $1.28). DollarTree often locates next to WalMarts. The big beneficiary of this price hike will be WalMart. Janet Yellen needs to figure this DollarTree emergency out. Hitting low-income voters up with a 25% price hike in their daily lives is bad politics.
