  1. How about these... http://d3a005dv9q91mu.cloudfront.net/uploads/2014/11/GhirAndes.jpeg
  2. Book Soup has been around forever, and indeed it is one of the very last brick and mortar bookstores. But I've never perceived it as a 'gay' bookstore.
  3. Agree!! I revisited a lot of his films at a film festival last year. He was EXTREMELY sexy and a very good actor, too!

He used to do live chats on the Randy Blue website, and I'm sorry to say I witnessed the same thing. Although I once saw him walk into a restaurant where I was eating and he was wearing sweatpants. His ass is jaw-dropping awe-inspiring!
  5. Living in SoCal, I have long been fascinated by the almost universal obsession with In N Out Burger. I know I am in the extreme minority - and I actually have kept my silence on this topic with friends, but from my earliest sampling of them I thought there is absolutely nothing about their product to warrant the cult-like status they enjoy. I have never seen one without lines around the block (cars) and traffic jams. I heard of one new store going up and they had to install a traffic light to accommodate it. To me, their burgers are 'OK', but certainly not worth the hassle. And their fries out-and-out SUCK. They remind me of Wise potato sticks that used to be sold in tiny bags when I was a kid. Far superior burgers, IMHO, are to be had at Tommy's, and, especially, 5 Guys Burgers (who make the best fries hands down).
  6. I've always been curious about him, too. I've seen his ad around for a while - but never ONCE in LA! (I would have remembered!)
  7. EVERY show performed in front of a live audience uses canned laughter; they always have.
  8. Since W & G went off the air, Network sitcoms have been given over almost completely to 'quirky' families with 'offbeat' characters and annoying children (THE MIDDLE, MODERN FAMILY, BLACK-ISH, THE GOLDBERGS, RAISING HOPE, the new YOUNG SHELDON, and many others, I'm sure.) Or else self consciously clever work place comedies with quirky characters (30 ROCK, PARKS & REC, COMMUNITY, the new Tina Fey comedy and others.) Many of these use the tired 'talking to the documentary film-maker' gimmick. Or a narrator. And most of them use the 'whimsical musical cue' to tell you when to laugh instead of a laugh track. The return of W & G in this climate strikes me as a breath of fresh air (laugh track and all). I thought the premiere was funny and I will probably watch it regularly. As someone else here said, even a bad episode of W & G is better than most of the other stuff on the networks.
  9. GAME OVER!
  10. My new crush whom I just discovered the other day. Noah Neiman...

  12. ' 'Technically', I think of this as a 'guinea T'. Different from a classic wife-beater.
  13. On the internet, when people type a period after each word in a sentence as if to emphasize everything. Oh. My. God. I. sincerely. hate. that.
  14. For me, nothing announces one's curmudgeonliness to the world like one who gripes about the young 'uns who say 'no problem' instead of 'you're welcome'.
  15. man up thoughts and prayers
  16. Many many years ago I saw the one and only porn star Phil Bradley working as a clerk in Tower Records on Sunset Blvd. I bought a CD I had no intention of buying, just to have him make change and place it in my hand! (I didn't wash that hand for months! - jk)
  17. These pictures are old; but I have seen more recent photos of him slimmed down a bit and he looked like a leading man movie star. I think his weight yo-yo's a bit. He cleans up real nice when his beard is trimmed. Either way, I find him hilarious.

  19. An amazing collection. Even without including the man who for a long time was (arguably) considered the most handsome of all...Cary Grant. http://27.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ly09ueI1Na1rnojy1o2_500.jpg
  20. I thought $300.00 is the normal going rate in this day and age - at least in a big market like LA. I don't notice a lot of ads for less than that. Or, I should say, the ads that interest me rarely dip below $300.00.
  21. >>Very simply, it is a perk for frequent flyers. Delta boards in order of 1) anyone needing special assistance (which should be wheelchairs & baby carriages but is abused at times), 2) first class and diamond medallion, 3) skymember premium plus those who've paid extra for a "comfort" class seat, then, zones 1, 2, etc. It's one of the few free things they can offer frequent flyers (as opposed to a free upgrade to first which they can instead sell to a coach pax for dollars or points). Logistically it is a little backwards since the groups who board first tend to be toward the front and on the aisles but getting on early gives you a much better shot at the much-coveted overhead bin space.<< Thanks for the interesting answer. But...but...it is a LOT backwards and it is absolutely the reason for congested aisles.
  22. One of the many delightful aspects of flying in this day and age has kept me perplexed since the airlines started implementing it. When flying coach, one's boarding pass is assigned a 'group number', based on God only knows what. Then, "we will begin boarding Group 1" then "...Group 2..." etc. WHY - in the name of all that is holy! - do they not begin boarding the plane with the poor chumps (like me) who are sitting furthest in the back???????????!!!!!! That way...DUH...people won't be crawling all over each other trying to get to their seats!!
  23. Eva seemed to have a sweetness about her that Zsa Zsa lacked. I also think she displayed a lot of comedic acting skill on Green Acres. Her grave stone is touching... http://findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=1337 Regarding Merv Griffin, they are showing his old shows on the GET-TV Network. The old black and white episodes can be fascinating. Last week they had an episode from the mid 1960s with a young-ish Phil Specter as guest. He was every bit as creepy and weird with bad hair as he is now. He even told some anecdote about pulling a gun on someone!
  24. Number 21 is a hunky dog trainer named Brandon McMillan; he has a weekly show on CBS Saturday mornings called Lucky Dog... https://www.facebook.com/CBSLuckyDog/
