  1. I can already write the script on this one... Avoid him. P. S. I don’t know him.
  2. Acknowledge their loss but keep it short and simple. If the grieving person wants to speak more, they will let you know. Rambling on isn’t great but saying nothing is even worse. The grieving person knows it’s awkward for you, and they’ll forgive a well meant fumble. Silence, however, will be remembered forever.
  3. RIP my friend.
  4. “Ohhhhhh.....those Turks!”
  5. Hated it so much I had blocked it from my memory until it was mentioned in this thread. This may be the first time I’ve ever disagreed with both Benjamin Nicholas and Rod Hagen. I hated Urinetown. I just didn’t think it was funny or even remotely interesting. I can’t for the life of me remember even one song from this show. In fact the only moment I remember is when the girl on roller skates makes fun of the name of the show. That‘s digging pretty deep for a “highlight”. One minor laugh, at the show’s own expense.
  6. Yeah, but I hear it‘s damn near perfect for the turnips.
  7. My worst fear is.....these boring people aren’t going to go away.
  8. “I thought the ocean, the ocean thought nothing” - Dar Williams “The Ocean“.
  9. You ramble on with Oprah in an interview for over 3 hours airing dirty family laundry.....and the Queen nails it with 61 words. Long Live the Queen!
  10. nycman‘s words of advice..... When you’re trying to get away from the press.....you don’t do an interview......with the biggest media star of all time. When you’re trying to reconcile with your family....you don’t air your dirty laundry....with the biggest media star of all time. Millionaires crying to a billionaire about how unfortunate their lives have been?.....seriously? Honestly, I think Harry got involved with a very manipulative woman who knew how to exploit his weaknesses.
  11. Agreed. I’ve beat off to this thread three times already!
  12. Your post reminds me of a chapter I once read in a book on etiquette. It was about watches and when certain watches were appropriate. What struck me most was “a gentleman never wears a watch to dinner”. The idea was that you have set aside the entire evening to be with friends. The evening lasts as long as it lasts. Wearing a watch, or even worse looking at it, during an evening with friends is rude. I took it to heart and have followed that principle ever since.
  13. Love men who look like rugby tough power tops....who are total bottom boys. ....I think I’m in the wrong thread.....grin.
  14. Please be real and fun. Please be real and fun. Please be real and fun.
  15. Yes, she laughs awkwardly at the end.
  16. Ok, finished the series. Gotta agree it was uneven, but some of the moments hit home hard. Loved realizing they were on their way to Heaven nightclub just from the outside street scene.....ahhh memories. The scenes of Jill caring for her dying friend....and running into his bewildered family were haunting....ughhhh memories I also loved the Act Up inspired protest scene. I thought he did an amazing job of portraiting the fear, excitement, anger and just plain “what the fuck are we doing?.....holy fuck we’re doing it!” of the early AIDS protests....ahh memories. Didn‘t care for the last episode. It seemed a bit ham handed. Especially considering how incredible some of the other ones were.
  17. Easy.... “I was fucking an orange” They’ve heard it all. Whenever you find yourself in an ER....just tell the fucking brutal truth. They won’t care and they’ll respect you a 1,000 times more for being honest. Trust me.
  18. NOW he tells me......grin
  19. It’s prison....they all swing that way. When quoting something Iconic...accuracy is important. “They took all the trees Put 'em in a tree museum”
  20. I agree it’s partly a generational thing, but rude is rude. I know lots of young men who think nothing of showing up 30 min late. Not even so much as an apology. I usually let it slide the first time but as they’re leaving I make it clear that in the future, if they’re more than 10 min late without communication, I consider the appointment cancelled. Don’t bother showing up. I won’t be there. Sometimes it fixes the problem. Sometimes it doesn’t. YMMV.
  21. I’ve seen personal trainers led out of the gym in chains by the IRS. It happens. Report at least more than 1/2 of your income boys, and keep good records to support writing off the other 1/2. They don’t care how you earn your money. They care that you pay taxes on it. As my accountant says, “the bears make money, the bulls make money.....and the pigs get slaughtered”.
  22. Baby, you‘ve been around here long enough to know the mythology of this site. But for the new kids...... I believe the original software this site used had a filter for banned words. As with most early programming there was a flaw....the field couldn’t be left blank. So Hooboy chose the word w-h-o-r-e....as an inside joke....and the rest is history.
  23. So sad to hear. I don‘t doubt that repetitive traumatic brain injuries played a role in his declining mental health. You don’t start going crazy in your 60’s. That‘s organic not functional, until proven otherwise. RIP
