  1. In my experience, only CCBC (Cathedral City Boys Club) and All Worlds have a sleezy atmosphere, complete with outdoor cruising areas, glory holes , and the option for rooms with slings. Therefore, I won't book overnights at these places... It's just not relaxing to me. All the other men clothing optional hotels in Palm Springs are pretty much naked just at the pool. Yes, people meet up and play at the hot tub in the evening or take it back to their rooms; but, other than a naked pool, they could pass as ordinary relaxing hotels. You may find someone you find attractive staying at your hotel, but you'll be just as likely meet someone on Grindr who is staying nearby.
  2. Be mindful not to send endless text messages. Apparently some people send 20-25 messages when 3-5 would do.
  3. I would not mention anything sexual in the first text massage, in case you have the wrong number. You can mention that you are Okay with telephone calls. Example: You (1st message): "Hello. I'm John. I saw your ad in XXX City. Are you available for a 1 hour session this Friday evening? I can travel or host in XXX neighborhood. If available, what is the rate you charge? I am willing to discuss more by phone call if you prefer" Him: "Yes, I am available on Friday. I charge XXX for outcalls. Etc..." You (2nd message): "Great! That rate works for me. How's 8pm? I see you are into kissing and water sports, which is what I'm looking for. Your ad says "Ask Me" about safe sex; so are you okay if I use a condom when I top? Feel free to call if you prefer to discuss in person" In summary, keep it short and sweet. Don't specifically mention paying for a sex act when hiring in the United States. Mention dates and city in the first message (in case he's traveling), but be careful about any more information in case you have the wrong number. Try to ask your important questions in the 2nd text messages, and keep them simple so he can respond with "Yes, I'm fine with those activities" . Don't waste his time with open ended questions such as "What do you enjoy to do in bed?" that require too much of his time to answer and may not answer what you really wanted to know. Happy hiring!
  4. Ahh. If only New Yorkers could learn to put the name of their city in the subject line!
  5. Using the Search function is very helpful. I typed "Palm Springs" in the Search field for the Travel Desk forum and found these useful threads: I have stayed at CCBC, Canyon Club, El Mirasol, and Desert Paradise, plus other Palm Springs gay hotels that are now closed. Of these I mentioned, I can recommend El Mirasol and Desert Paradise. Canyon Club is good for the cheap rate, but it's very hit or miss on whether you get an updated room. Even if you get an updated room, it's miles below the quality of experience at any other gay clothing-optional hotel. I wouldn't touch CCBC again; I've stayed overnight in bathhouses that were nicer. Only visit CCBC on a day pass if you need to. El Mirasol was very pleasant. I stayed there last weekend. There's a hot tub and two pools (one heated saltwater and one not-heated chlorine). It was not crowded, but the men I met were frisky enough 😉. I last stayed at Desert Paradise pre-pandemic, and the hotel has changed owners twice since then. It was a decent property when I stayed there; and, it looks like they've continued to make improvements. The two nicest gay hotels everyone talks about are Hacienda and INNdulge. Unfortunately, I have never stayed at either because they are both above my budget. Triangle Inn is on my list of gay hotels to try based on pleasant reviews and decent prices, but I haven't had the opportunity yet. It is smaller than the other hotels mentioned.
  6. True..."queer" indeed means strange or different and describes things that are not the norm. The alphabet soup of groups included in the modern GBLT+ now represents the normal attitudes of society and is no longer queer. Today, "queer" would more aptly be used to describe monogamous couples who never had sexual relations before marriage. Back to the topic of gay men with older brothers: That may become a queer phenomenon as women continue giving birth to fewer children. Large nuclear families are queer today (not the norm) 😉
  7. Thank you @Simon Suraci for your insight. As a client, I would have assumed that 12hrs overnight would be priced the same as or lower than 12hrs daytime because the provider doesn't have to be "on" while the client is asleep. However, your explanation of interrupted sleep and awkward morning preparations makes sense. Providers, take note of pricing more for the sessions you don't enjoy, and less for the sessions you enjoy but could use more bookings. Be sure to mention those price differences in your advertisement; otherwise, potential clients might not think to ask about the sessions you prefer. "Ask about my special rates for 12 hour daytime sessions concluding before midnight" would peak my interest when perusing advertisements (If that type of language is allowed by the host website).
  8. A similar topic has been started. Also look in the Europe travel forum for more recommendations in the west village of Paris. https://www.companyofmen.org/topic/151011-west-village-paris-mens-spa/?do=findComment&comment=2279893
  9. His advertisement is now for $125 for 60 minutes outcall!
  10. @Bokomaru I'm glad you have the financial resources to have 80 pages worth of taxes! Since the 2017 Tax Act, I now just take the standard deduction. All my retirement investments are now in Roth accounts so I don't have to keep track of capital gains, dividends, or interest. And I don't own a business or rental real estate, so there's no depreciation to keep track of. My taxes are 4 pages long. They could be 3 pages, but I choose to pay by check so I need to submit Form 1040-V.
  11. The most I ever charged for an overnight of sex was $150 ($100, plus $50 for the ride home). This was pre-pandemic. I don't advertise to escort, but I'll negotiate a fee when someone approaches me at a bar or pool gathering and I'm not that interested without the money. Unfortunately, I was too busy studying and working a part-time engineering job during my university years to have time for bars, pools, or other social gatherings; and, I remained a virgin until after graduating from university.
  12. I don't think anyone likes to be awakened while they are at work.
  13. That's hot🔥 My most memorable hookups involved being woken in middle of the night to a finger or tongue, prepping me for what came next. 😈
  14. Them's fighting words. I prefer to call someone a human, and not a strange human. The "+" includes the few letters that are left, so all we humans are in that group.
  15. As a bottom client, I can feel the difference with a condom and without. I won't hire an escort if he's going to use a condom (I verify in advance if bareback is okay). With a hookup, I don't mind if he uses a condom for whatever reason. I just don't want to pay for that experience.
  16. Actually, a good deal of my time and money is spent voluntarily mentoring kids as a youth activity leader and supporting children all over the world (like some good fathers mentioned earlier). That's part of what makes my lifestyle so rewarding! So far, none of my kids I mentor have come out as gay. I'm not going to spend too much time looking for them amongst the larger families with many older brothers. Although this study (the topic of this thread) does correlate a higher likelihood of gay men in families with older brothers, that is still a very small contributing factor (only around 1-3%) of the total odds of being gay.
  17. In my experience, most male escorts and masseurs charge less in California than they do in most of the rest of the country, especially New York, Virginia, or Florida.
  18. I've only ever had one overnight so far. I paid 250 Euros (200 plus 50 tip) for an overnight in Vienna in 2023. Otherwise, the most I've paid to date is $500 for 2 hours with 2 men (couple) back in 2019.
  19. But that's still a lot of exposure compared to most of the world!
  20. My 2024 gay lifestyle is pretty fabulous. 🤩 My brothers' lifestyles are all pretty nice, but not quite as fabulous.
  21. The last time I hired in San Francisco I saw a few men and paid $150-$200 for 90 minute sessions (all were erotic massages with bareback anal penetration), but this was back in 2018.
  22. The feeling is mutual. I like an escort that is a great kisser, and is open to both being a top and bottom. But each person has different tastes and desires. There's a market for everything. But some markets are larger than others.
  23. My favorite well reviewed, popular porn-star escort in San Francisco has an advertised rate of $300 for an hour outcall. I saw him twice last weekend while he was traveling.
  24. I met a traveling NYC escort last weekend that advertises $250/hour in NYC. I will book with him when I visit NYC in two months. He is a great kisser, and totally versatile for both oral and anal.
