It sounds like you have gotten to know him pretty well. Perhaps you can persuade him to see a doctor for a full medical checkup. With some blood work and answering some pointed questions, they may be able to find out what can be done to help him. It may be a simple as a few dietary adjustments. If you are willing to pay for his doctors visit, he may be more than willing to go - he must be kinda worried too.

Importantly, if I click on a link and the page takes me someplace scary, Trend Micro will warn me and give me the option to back away. I pay about $40 a year and it protects 5 devices. Normal price is $80 but they usually run sales so I check the website around public holidays (presidents day, labor day, memorial day etc). I'd recommend you use the search function (top of the page on the right) to search for them by name. Many of them (if not all) have been discussed before.
