I used to have a lot of sex at a drive in movie theater when I was a teenager. Maybe that's why I'm still so into sex in cars.

The drive-in was run by devout Christians and would run advertisements encouraging everyone to go to church on Sundays. They had rules against using profanity in the snack bar. But somehow they had no rules against hooking up in cars during movies nor anyone monitoring for it... They ran double and triple features on the weekends, and sometimes I would go with someone and have sex during movies for 5-6 hours...

(I think the drive-in is still there too.)

Is it really worth it to start squabbling over a few bucks here and there? Sounds like you're having a great time. Enjoy the ride; it won't last forever. If he's a good guy and is meeting your needs in many different ways, you might want to consider paying him a bit more. Treat your friend like a friend, not a box of donuts. Volume discounts and free samples. Maybe at Costco.

When I was a suburban teenager, I had no place to hook up, and neither did some of my tricks, so I had a lot of sex in cars.

I totally agree. There is nothing guaranteed about the income otherwise.

Ask ṭo be upgraded to sugardaddy status. Offer a fixed monthly stipend for an agreed number of meetings. Transfer it to him on the last day of every month so that he can use it to pay his bills on the 1st of every month. THAT is guaranteed income that genuinely benefits the escort and gives you some negotiating power to bring to the table because of how enticing that stability is to most freelance, session-based workers.

I would recommend that you don't frame it as seeking a discount tho. Frame it as something mutually beneficial. Offer him about the same amount that you've been spending on him, but negotiate a little more time for yourself in exchange for the security that your monthly pre-paid stipend would offer him. That could easily seem like a win-win to a lot of people.

Please also keep in mind: multi hour sessions and multiple one hour sessions in the same month are COMPLETELY different beasts in terms of pricing. Our rate for a one hour session includes our time to prepare for the session, travel to and from the session, and clean up afterward. Multi-hour sessions are typically discounted compared to one hour session because there is no need to compensate us for the prep/cleanup/travel twice. If it's the case that you are booking 3-4 one hour sessions per month, then there is absolutely no reduction in his prep/travel/cleanup for the sessions. A single 4 hour session is much more appealing for an escort to discount because there is a lot less misc work involved than with 4 one hour sessions.

Not as a professional actually. But I love hooking up in cars. Have done it a number of times with personal hookups.

Pretty sure I've had extended dinner dates with clients where I've taken advantage of the opportunity to give a little BJ in the car on the way to or from dinner. But there was a hotel room and a dinner involved in those dates, so can't really say that they qualify as "car dates".

Unless you are seeking him for that long in one session or you're prepaying, there is nothing guaranteed about it. Robbery, death, illness on either of your parts, work emergencies - the income may be highly likely but that's not the same as guaranteed.

I never share my government name with clients. I don't accept western union or PayPal as payment because they require it. I always buy my own plane tickets for this reason also.

But then again, I'm transgender, and haven't managed to change my legal name yet, so sharing my government name is extremely unappealing to me because it's a girl's name and I hate it. Even most of my close friends do not know my government name. For me it's like a curse word that shouldn't be said out loud. I wince every time I have to use it with a customer service agent. A lot of the time I explain that I'm transgender and request not to be called by that name just so I don't have to hear it. It's really uncomfortable for me to share that name so I avoid it if at all possible.

I consider my "real name" to be the name I chose for myself, the name that all my friends and community members know me by. Until recently I was in the closet with my clients about being FTM, so I didn't share my real name with them. My clients thought I was a girl, but my real name is a boy's name. Now that I'm out of the closet about being transgender and my clients know that I'm FTM, I do think I'd be willing to share my real name with clients. It's a freedom I haven't had before.

No-shows are a chronic headache for all professionals, not just escorts. I should know. I'm a Primary Care physician. On any given day, no-shows account for a PCPs total daily booked appointments at a rate of 5-20%, depending on the demographics of the patient panel and geography. Yes, that's a daily no-show rate. My personal office no-show rate hovers around 7%. It used to frustrate me a lot more than it does now. At this point in my career, I have come to understand some people are simply disrespectful of others. And I have a much better strategy of managing no-shows then I did when I first started.

I have a policy that 3 no-shows in <18 months (not 12 months) will have the professional relationship terminated and the patient needing to find a new physician. And if a new patient no-shows on their very first appointment, the staff are not allowed to make them another appointment. A no-show on the first appointment is that is all the evidence I need to know that the patient will be a hardship on my practice, and by extension, the health of my other patients in my panel who actually show up. Even if the patient calls to cancel but if its less than a 24 hr notice, it is still considered a no-show. The reason is, sometimes if there is <24 hr notice, that appointment spot can not be replaced by another patient as it sometimes impossible to logistically get another patient in his/her place. In this day and age of physician shortages, an unused appointment slot is a seriously unfortunate event which harms other patients. I have no desire or need to fill my panel with such disrespectful patients. It's not that they are disrespectful to me that is the issue, it's they are disrespectful to my other patients and prospective new patients who want to be seen but my staff have to say no to or put them off to a later date.

My office staff has a large protocol to help diminish no-shows. First, when they make an appointment, they are informed of the no-show policy AND if they are established patients, how many no-shows they have accumulated (if any) in the past 18 months. When a patient hears they have 2 no-shows in the past 18 months, it help motivate them to show up next time, or at least give 24 hr notice. Patient's are called 2 days before to remind them. If we have an address, email reminders go out the day before to further remind. Letters go to each patient who no-shows offering concern over their health and a reminder of the no-show policy. If they have no-shows already documented, that is included in the letter. The letter is as professional, pleasant, but matter of fact as can be in such a letter as this.

But we urgently suggest to patients to inform the office of a no-show even if it's less than 24 hrs because it might help them in the future. Is the patient rude to my staff (you might be surprised to hear how many patients are rude to office staff)? Do they always pay late or refuse to pay their co-pays/deductibles? Are they not getting better under my care due to their non-participation in the treatment plan? To many "yes'es" and I'm gonna terminate them. But if they have 3 no-shows but one of these was a call 2 hrs before the appointment to cancel (which is still a no-show) but are otherwise good patients (no yes'es to the above questions), I might delay termination... maybe, if they really ask for clemency and understand one more and they are gone. See, I'm not as mean as you think.

By implementing this protocol, my no-show rate, although frustrating, is at a reasonable level. Without it I have seen a no-show percentage of near 20%.

Why have I described in depth this office protocol? To suggest to all escorts to find and implement your own robust protocol for your business which can only help you. This should include accepting (as I have to do) that no professional can eliminate all no-shows. It's just a part of doing business.

    Suggestions To Escorts:
    1) Get an address at least 3 days before the session. (Why wouldn't a client give you one?)
    2) No blocked calls.
    3) Insist on a Day-Of confirmation text/phone call.
    4) Where possible, identify red-flags which alert you to a client with an increased risk of a no-show and come up with a strategy to navigate and diminish that risk.
    5) Inform the client making an appointment that you are the consummate professional and will absolutely give him at the least a 24 hr cancellation call (or more) if an emergency comes up. But ask him to do the same and actually get a verbal agreement from him on this. Review with him that this is your livelihood and to respect this and your time by giving you the same courtesy. Be pleasant, matter of fact, and polite with this part of conversation, but be clear. Possibly by getting him to verbally agree to give you a cancellation call, he will commit to respectful behavior because now he doesn't want to let himself down by breaking his word to himself.

I would love to hear other suggestions that escorts and clients are using/considering to use for this vexing problem.

    Hugs to all,
    Josh

Right, I can see how someone newer to escorting might not pick up on the subtlety of dangling that information to be given at some point in the future, but I think experience teaches most of us that when clients are not forthcoming with the information that we NEED to know for the logistics of the booking, it's usually a warning sign that something is off. Like maybe they're not really sure if they're serious about it or not.

Occasionally it's because of a true emergency. Often it's simply lack of respect.

I can't say that this ever happens to me anymore because I make my clients jump thru lots of hoops to book me in the first place (tends to weed out those who aren't serious), but it sure used to happen a lot when I was newer to escorting.

Nowadays, I would never consider an Outcall "confirmed" if I didn't have the address. I would neither hold the time in my schedule for the client nor spend any of my time preparing for the meeting without the address. Unless perhaps it was a regular and he had a very good reason for not knowing the address in advance.

In my opinion, if you're not ready to give me your address then you're not really serious about the booking.

Yup its a phase-in. The ads that you see which still look normal weren't posted before the changes and have yet to expire / go up for renewal.

As more ads finish their current run, you will see less and less with text included. Its not even possible to renew an ad with text anymore.

In my opinion, what's really happening is that BP is pointing to social media to share the blame for advertising escorts every bit as much as it does. Many escorts use Twitter, Facebook, etc., and if the US government convicts BP for facilitating trafficking, it could use that as precendent to hold social media websites liable as well, forcing ALL of them to censor sex workers. I think BP is trying to force sex workers to use social media to share the details of our advertising since we can no longer write anything in BP ads. To make a point. Its a part of their legal strategy.

I guess the issue is whether Backpage.com can be held liable for what users choose to post on their site. Backpage' lawyers say no they can't. The US government says yes they can and are prosecuting them for it, as well as running a smear campaign to ensure public morality opinions remain largely against Backpage. Legal precedent support's Backpage's claim, but with the current political climate towards sex work & the overblown hysteria around the 'human trafficking epidemic', it's really hard to say how the courts will go.

I think what Backpage is doing is aligning themselves with other websites that haven't been subject to the same kind of political smearing. BP wants to argue that it's not any more liable for the content its users publish than Twitter or Facebook or Instagram. So I think they're making their case physically more clear by eliminating any opportunity for users to post anything incriminating and requiring all the potentially-incriminating details to be located on third-party websites (social media giants) that are less enticing for the courts to hold liable for the content they publish.

On Twitter anyone can say openly that they sell sex in change for money, and Twitter won't censor or ban them. Twitter allows that freedom of speech because according to the courts, it's not liable for whatever its users choose to publish. If the courts decide that BP is liable for what its users published then it sets up legal precedent for Twitter to be held liable as well. I think BP is just kind of making that consequence more transparent by forcing the connection between its users and social media giants. Solidifying their case.
