Johnson's has forgotten what a blond dancer looks like. Matt's forgotten Boardwalk went south when it became mostly 30's heavy pushy Latins. I go to Clearwater and Sarasota a good bit and the guys around Tampa Bay are much better looking. There's also a hard-core OnlyFans/Porn/Escort cadre of guys in Orlando/Tampa who'd work the bar for clients.  Key West seems to have the best turnover of dancers, often European backpackers, and it's lax with the private dance rules. Sorry ATL is so bad now.

Johnson’s hasn’t forgotten… they can’t find any blond hair blue eyed guys who are willing to dance.  I can promise you they try.   Gorgeous George (the airhead from California) is in Fort Lauderdale occasionally.

  2. I would not make Atlanta part of a trip unless you are into unattractive girlie boys and middle age roieed  out or fluffy guys (BJ roosters).

it seems the montreal bars are struggling although I will make a visit there this summer to see.

johnsons Fort Lauderdale always has a strong lineup although it leans heavily Latin and unfortunately a good number struggle with English.

If you get tampa on a good weekend it is the best bet.  But they are struggling to build a strong client base.   I don’t know how they’ve managed to get so many hot guys (locals and guests)… but they have a good mix body type / ethnicity).

Tampa is a hidden gem.   Not really a tourist destination like Miami and Fort Lauderdale but if people discover it… they almost always prefer it to Fort Lauderdale / Miami

  3. The “Montreal invasion” is 3 or 4 guys who have been dancing in Fort Lauderdale this winter + 1 who will be flying in for the weekend from montreal.

I didn’t think the club in tampa would work.  But now I think it is going to become the premier club in the US.  I just wish it was fully nude.

  4. There were only a handful of dancers from the last days of Richards that were worthy of lap dance money.   May be harsh to say but true.

I was at BJs recently.  They had  25 dancers… none that I found desirable.

if you like strippers or gogo boys or dancers whatever you call them you can go to (1)Montreal (although those bars are still struggling since the pandemic), (2) Johnson’s Fort Lauderdale.   But it’s small and super crowded with very little privacy…. Or (3) based on the pics being posted on Instagram and Facebook, Johnson’s Tampa.

Really hopeJohnson’s finds a place in atlanta.  It would be a money maker from day 1.

With Richards gone and rumors of a rebirth elsewhere in town seeming less and less likely, what has happened to all the hot male dancer talent in Atlanta?  Has BJ Roosters absorbed much of the roster list and clientele?

Doesn’t sound like Matt from Johnson’s is going to come to Atl anytime soon since he has his hands full with the Dallas and Tampa Johnsons expansions.

Seems like such a great time to capitalize after the void Richards left.

To be honest I don’t think SR had much talent towards the end.   The only ones I found particularly attractive were Ken, Axel, Scotty, Juan, Cali.  I know I’m probably forgetting a few but those are the only guys I took dances from in the last 2 years the club was open except for  Brent and Denver (who were rarely there)

Juan has been dancing at BJs some.  The club located in the Atlanta underground complex has been advertising the “Boys of Future Wed-Sun 10pm-?”  But although the add says 20 boys I’m told they do not have 20 boys.   It is also not nude but does supposedly have VIP rooms.

on a recent Friday night they had no customers so they sent two of the dancers to Blakes to promote the club and the dancers.   These two particular dancers I won’t name but had a notorious reputation at SR for bad attitudes.  Were disliked by regulars and basically anyone who interacted with them that didn’t want to spend major bucks in the VIP rooms.  BJs won’t hire them.  So basically future gets BJs rejects… which is a pretty low bar

‘’Future is primarily known as a dance bar and for drag shows.  But it is a very nice looking club.  The area it is located in is  high crime area though.  For now, I’m waiting to hear more.  So far, I don’t think it is worth the visit

Can you confirm your sources? I know they’ve had that “southern belles” sign out for about a year now. But at this point the land around it in west midtown is becoming too expensive / valuable and a strip club of any kind there now seems implausible.

Um….name a source in this forum?  I don’t think so.  I’m not offended by your skepticism or rationale.  I also thought ithey would demolish the building and it would become apartments/condos or commercial office space.   They are not tearing down the building but have significant repairs/upgrades to make.   The property was purchased by the same people that own Onyx on Cheshire bridge

  7. I just don’t have the energy nor the state of mind  to put the weekend at swinging Richards into words.  I’m still processing the fact that I will never be able to go back to the club again.  Maybe in a few days I can do a proper write up of the final weekend.

there are some instagram stories that will give you some insight but as you know instagram stories are only for 24 hours so better look fast.  https://instagram.com/swingingrichardsatl?utm_medium=copy_link

  8. So I was at swinging richards Saturday night.  The club doesn’t open until 9pm and when they opened the doors a little bit after 9pm they had 60 people in line.  By 10 pm when I was able to get in there were probably 100 plus people in line and the parking lot was at capacity.  In the old days they would see 300-500 people come through the door on Saturday night  I’m guessing it was close to 700 last night.  It was crowded and a blast.  For the first time In at least a couple of years they started running stage sets with 5 dancers….. and while many of the dancers are past their heyday there are 4 or 5 guys that I would describe as five stars and probably a dozen 3-4 star guys depending on your type.

for the most part this weekened. ‘the customers have been friendly, and tip generously during the stage sets.  The music has even been pretty good.  clearly it was the best weekend, we’ve seen since the pandemic and frakly, lomger than that.   Saturday night reminded me of what weekends used to be like 10 years ago.

there were lot of smiles, love and laughter among friends  and customers and entertainers.  Unfortunately the club has been, managed poorly.  And is far from what it should be for the last 4 or 5 years /but if you wsnt  to get a glimpse before it closes.   Next weekend’s yours last chance

End of an era…..we will never have anything like it   Definitely sad to see it go

Appears they are closing MLK weekend. Which as far as I know is a pretty big weekend for promoters, parties and visitors.

Unless something changes they will be open that weekend.  Last night will be Saturday Jan. 15th…. Their closing time is 3am so last day will actually close for good on 1/16

  10. Yep.  Packed like it was 2010 again.  Maybe 20 dancers.   Took 20 min to get a drink because there were only 2 bartenders and the POS system is from the 1990’s so it takes forever to process a credit card transaction.

Ken and Cali make it a fun time,  for me anyway.  Those two dancers are the kind of hot guys that were common when Matt Colunga ran the place

  11. Thank you for the post above related to the legal issues   Bottom line is all of it is related to classifying dancers as independent contractors and not employees.  What I find hysterical and I know from speaking with people connected to the cases are two things:

    1. Some of the lead plaintiffs in the 3 suits had 1099s in the years they worked at richards in excess of $50,000 dollars…. PER YEAR.   (U know the drunk customers that get VIP rooms but don’t have cash have to use credit cards).  Those facts were deemed inadmissible.

    2. The lawsuit alleges that on most shifts the “employee” made less than $100.   If you believe that, you believe Donald Trump always tells the truth

again… guys that will never make as much money as they did at SR wanted more money.  They killed the golden goose

  12. A few things to mention

The owner of swinging richards owns not only the club  but the building, the parking lot and building next door.  He also has significant legal fees and judgments over lawsuits from dancers related to wages (I.e. they basically had to pay the club to work there through “Tip outs” and were not paid minimum wage. If I’m not mistaken the judgment was for over a million dollars.

then there is the reality that the property alone is worth millions of dollars (five to ten million) and is in a prime location. When Richards was open 5 nights a week and having good crowds it was bringing in a lot of revenue.  Now it is only open on Thursday nights and does well on Friday nights and is packed on Saturday nights after 11Pm.  The dancers don’t show up until 10pm or later (some wait to midnight). Which is why crowds wait so late to go in.  A third of the dancers never go on stage and wait for the occasional crazy spender in the back.  Many of the dancers bitch about money. They actually don’t do many vip rooms anymore either because the club doubled the “room” fee.  So, a vip room that used to cost $140 for 15 minutes has been $185 for the last two years.  30 minutes went from $265 to $320.  Cocktail drinks are $12.  Cover charge for the club is $20-$25 after 10pm depending on the night and that doesn’t include the cover for the VIP room

this is a classic case of entitled straight guys and a straight owner being so greedy they killed the goose

  13. I was there recently.  I think the cover is $10.  There are VIP booths in the back.  $10 for a wrist band for VIP.  Curtains don’t close all the way. Dances are $20 per song.   It is a pretty small club and it is REALLY crowded by 9:30 pm on the weekends

I started this thread on 6/15/20, just after I had to cancel plans for a visit at the end of that month.  Back then I would never have predicted it would be 14 months before I could return.

I have my plane reservations, my apartment, and my vaccination certificate all ready.  Still have to nail down the requirements for a covid-test and the "just-in-case" quarantine plan.  You can bet I've been walking around with a big smile on my face for the past 24 hours 😁.

Please share what you learn in terms of requirements. And I would be interested in how you secured an apartment.  Feel free to msg me

LOL!  I always found it interesting (or maybe myopic??) that so much discussion of anything and everything Canadian -- especially Montreal -- is in the Male Strip Clubs forum.  I mean, there is more to Canada than strip clubs (I think 🤔)

And there are other places to discuss it.  The name of this forum is male strip clubs.  I don’t know why you find the discussion of montreal strip clubs in a strip club forum so ‘myopic’
