Cleaning crews don’t stop showing up because of ideology. Landlords don’t file eviction notices because someone was cancelled three years ago in another city. Those things happen for exactly one reason: the owners aren’t paying their bills. And Matt hasn’t controlled the books, the bank accounts, or vendor payments since the sale. That’s not opinion — that’s how ownership works. Blaming him for this is like blaming the architect of a house for the foreclosure after he sold it and moved out. If we want to criticize Matt for not doing deeper due diligence on the buyers, that’s fair. But the real cause of Johnson’s issues is Pride Holdings — their financial condition isn’t mysterious or ideological. Their own filings show no operating revenue in 2024, multiple unfinished properties, and a long, documented history of bankruptcies and creditor disputes. I am providing information here. Not speculation…. The sale involved stock/shares in the company and promises…..not cash. He can’t “buy it back”. And even if the new owners were willing to exchange the stock for the bars… they’ve taken money and run up bills… which is why the Tampa club has received an eviction notice, vendors haven’t been paid, liquor distributors haven’t been paid… it’s fucked up!!! There are multiple sources. I don’t do rumors. I’m talking to people who know. In Tampa and fort Lauderdale. It’s worse than I thought. They can’t even buy liquor right now because they haven’t paid their liquor distributor. They haven’t paid their cleaning crews… I’m not sure if they have made payroll. Here is what I’ve learned about the “Pride holdings group” everyone knows they have no money. They haven't been able to finish the build out on their new nightclub (Parliament House) since before Covid. And then they leased another building to open it first and the alcohol wet zoning had dried up and they couldn't get a liquor license for it and it is just sitting. So they have 2 unfinished properties. And the owners are known crooks. The only reason Parliament House went under was the owners took all the money and didn't pay any bills and filed for bankruptcy multiple times. But the last time they filed, the judge pulled the chair out from under them and said they were intentionally defrauding the State of Florida, The IRS, ETC. And declined to let them file and made them liquidate all their assets to pay off bills.

Johnson’s tampa has received an evictions notice. It appears the new owners are extracting all of the cash flow to pay for the Parliament House reopening. They aren’t paying their bills…:hence the eviction notice

Well as of Aug 1st they own Johnson’s which means they have two profitable clubs (Johnson’s Tampa and Fort Lauderdale). But if those clubs had a massive income straam they could have expanded without selling… seems they trade their assets for worthless shares.

I realize this is somewhat akin to beating a dead horse…..but apparently stock bar has a female DJ now. Honestly, I think they need to shut it down and repurpose it as a drag/dance bar. The only thing left in montreal as far as strip clubs go is campus…. And while they have too many women, at least they still have a roster of hot dancers and it remains a gay male strip club where the staff is male. I’m sure at some point we will get an update that stock has added trans women or trans men or non binary dancers to the lineup. I guess I have another question since we are being so inclusive. Isn’t it discriminatory, elitist, unwelcoming, unequal and alienating that only men can be drag queens? This is clearly not in keeping with the gay community’s stated goals around diversity, equity and inclusion. Women should be able to get dressed up, put on crazy wigs, over the top make up and lip sync to Rhianna and Mariah and Whitney just like the boys do. Women, whether straight or gay should not be treated like 2nd class citizens in gay bars. I doubt the people in this thread chastising posters who prefer an all male environment for strip clubs ever have supported the dancers who work in these clubs. I’m happy I was able to enjoy times when gay strip clubs (in Montreal in particular) were exclusively male on most nights. Those days were special. I did not take any photos in the bar. They were sent to me by someone who subscribes to the live feed. Stock bar had less than 10 dancers for the main gay pride weekend. My understanding is it was 6 or 7 dancers. They could not run a continuous stage and only about 1 out of every 3 songs had a dancer on stage. From the early 2000s to 2019 they had 40-50 dancers on Pride weekend…. EVERY SINGLE YEAR. That is a truth. So the poster who tried to say it was nothing but rainbows and butterflies is either lying to himself or has amnesia about the pre-Covid montreal strip bar scene and its environment. ‘I am happy to understand Campus on the other hand had a really good lineup. Although I am an “American” and an ‘irregular’ visitor I have no problems connecting with dancers at either bar. There are always a few boys that are VERY happy to see me. Although my in hotel visits are now limited to “former” stock dancers who I see whenever I go to montreal and whatever campus boys that I like who make the suggestion that we could have more “fun” in my hotel room.
