  1. For tech, I rely on cnet's reviews. might not take everything as gospel, but its the site that influences me the most as I consider purchases. And, I read online reviews. I look at Amazon, EBay, BestBuy, etc. I look through the consumer reviews... using a grain of salt. I disregard some reviews, based on what they say. But sometimes, I get insights into specific details about a product. E.g., when many reviewers say something like "the TV is great, but the buttons on the remote are so tiny, I can't use it..." And, yes, I know Amazon does, or used to, compensate people for reviews. I don't rely on any service overall for auto recommendations, but I will read reviews to see if there is a pattern of complaints about any specific car's systems or features. Just ordered a chair from Wayfair. There were no reviews of the specific chair I ordered - and since I haven't sat in it yet, have a little trepidation while awaiting its arrival. The site itself often has helpful reviews of the items promoted... some buyers even include pictures of the furniture in their local room. The reviews are helpful as Wayfair doesn't appear to filter out negative comments. I've seen pictures of poorly assembled items. And many folks complain that the colors depicted online do not match the colors on the item that arrive.... supporting their complaint with photos.
  2. on a PC... not a tablet.... I open the source code. search for "jpg" if there are multiple pictures, they're generally all listed, in a paragraph like gathering, one per line. May be clickable... or copy-paste into another browser window. To search, I copy-paste into google image search url field, or tineye url field.
  3. Idle curiosity. Pointless. If I spent time with a rentguy, and I loved the experience, I don't care about his genuine enthusiasm. People put a smile on their face and go to jobs they dont love every day, all over the globe. If I had a choice between the guy who dreams about older men at night, but performs marginally... and a guy who doesnt care who the client is, but acts and delivers toe-curling experiences.... I'll take the actor.
  4. I see that this guy is visiting SF soon. Have any "seasoned" forum members met with him recently? Like others here, Ive found his Instagram. And, as some hypothesized, if you take the time to scroll down through all the posts.... some recent posts are repeats from long ago. Not sure how else to confirm "in-shape" comparable to advertised. Facetime to confirm identity is one thing. "Now, show me your abs" is another. _______________________ Edit: just noticed... he now lists his Instagram in his RM profile.
  5. I agree with @Tarte Gogo that there are multiple factors, and with most of his points. I've opened discussions regarding travel with someone after a few visits. Including overnight. I could list all of the reasons I want to do it. At length. I asked him to think about it, and he responded he will, as hes never travelled with someone. My guess... it wont happen, or at least not for more than quick getaways. He's super concerned about discretion and privacy. Thats OK with me, I understand that. But at some point, Im not getting on a plane, certainly not international, or even spending significant time, with total anonymity. Its a conundrum for me. I 100% understand and support a rentguy's desire for privacy, to compartmentalize their life. I'd probably want that. But there eventually needs to be some trust. Some of my first hires used their real name. Some guys have eventually shared personal info, and Ive accidentally happened on the identities of others. I've never once shared what I learned, not even decades later. Alas, "you can trust me" is no way to prove one is genuinely trustworthy.
  6. Najee (dont be misled by the first 30 seconds)
  7. I started subscribing to an onlyfans account this morning.... knowing very little about it. I didn't follow through. I have a paypal account I use for other adult activities. But, as written above, they only take mastercard or visa. I don't want to link my MC or Visa to this activity. The "performer" who interests me has zero previews. Very little info regarding his content is on his home page - only his number of pictures and videos... relatively low numbers at that. Nothing about video duration. For example, if the number of videos was five.... five 20 minute videos vs five 90-second videos.... I hate when I do things that result in my feeling ripped off, and I should have known better. This post was helpful. And I am now intrigued to learn more regarding
  8. hmmm. Does such a thing even exist? Or, more accurately, I don't think I am clear on what is being sought. I understand the importance that the environment is gay friendly --- it certainly wouldn't be ideal to work on self improvement while making the effort to hide who we are, or deal with resentment, bigotry, etc. But what's a "controlled gay environment"? And, FYI, I too have considered spa visits or fat-camp. So I'm interested in this post.
  9. I told a rentguy I was with this past week about this thread, and the question. He's also a trainer. The idea of same client, both services, made him uncomfortable, and he'd prefer not to do it. As it was an extended visit, he was ok with discussing training issues while we had dinner.
  10. Makes me chuckle. I remember when the hospital quality assurance administrator, who oversaw the infection control department (among others), announced in a meeting that the only reason they use an alcohol wipe before drawing blood or giving a shot is tradition. The efficacy of stopping and extraordinarily unlikely infection at the site with a quick swab is almost nil. She specifically said "you could spit on the site and wipe it up, and it would be just as effective." Doctors wear those surgical booties because they don't want to get their shoes dirty. Anything beneath the surgical table is out of the sterile field. It has nothing to do with sterility or infection control in surgery. I think that these days, most have converted to wearing clogs anyway, as those are better for posture. The hydration advice is well founded, but depends on region. I grew up in the midwest. When the furnace went on, the house dried out. Dry house, and cold outside air, your mucus membranes dry out. They're a vital part of the immune system. Most furnaces in the region have humidifiers. However, here in CA, unless immediately adjacent the coast, the summers are drier. We don't need humidifiers in the winter, as that is (supposed to be) the rainy season. Not rubbing your eyes is excellent advice. As noted above, they are pathways into the system. I wonder if any public health officials, or CDC, have swabbed cell phones. Swipe right, take a bite of your food. Tap here, rub your eye.
  11. Theres some pretty accurate info on here. I work in healthcare. Did a ton of work with Peds, so very in tune with vaccines. Anti-vaxxers make me crazy. If I had Harry Potter's wand, I'd magically transfer every sick child's avoidable illness to his parent. Vaccine effectiveness does vary year to year. One of those info items with mixed reasons for sharing... never want to dissuade vaccination. I also wait until at least late September to get my flu shot, due to max effectiveness period. But its not as if shot receivers are suddenly unprotected at the 5-6 month mark. Airplanes are petri dishes. There is a series of anectodal stories from frequent travelers who rarely get sick. They report that they hold their breath for a bit after passengers nearby sneeze or cough. And refrain from touching their face, especially runbing eyes. I will share that here in SF Bay, I made an effort to never rub my eyes on BART. Real handwashing is the best preventive. Quick splashes at the public bathroom sink is probably worse than not washing at all. If not using soap and hot water, kinda pointless. Given my career, always been shocked when physicians dont wash their hands when leaving public restrooms. I was raised that flu symptoms meant bed rest, fluids, aspirin. Nowadays, probably Tylenol or an NSAID. Never bother calling the doctor for the flu. We know that antibiotics are making for drug resistant germs/bacteria. I wonder if anti-virals are doing the same... and about the long term effects of drugs like Tamiflu.
  12. Ooops... did the thread title always say NYC? If yes, my apologies.
  13. Thinking about this post... Is there any reliable way these days to reverse lookup a phone number? Or an email address. Or ID on a platform.. e.g. Yahoo ID? Long ago, the phone company published reverse directories. And there were reliable landline reverse search engines in earlier days on the internet. These days, seems like any reverse search effort leads to a for-pay website. Most try to hook users into ongoing subscriptions (sign up online, but most phone to cancel... 'your expected wait time is two hours twenty-seven minutes')... some will sell info for a one-time fee. But all of the sites use careful, qualifying language, with the word "may" featured prominently. As in "our search results may include name, address, social media," etc. There have been some experiences in my career and my volunteer work that I'd pay for reliable reverse lookup info; the key word being reliable. Feels inconsistent or contradictory...in an age when we feel and are repeatedly reminded that our information is not private... its become more difficult to get information.
  14. There used be Eagles in several cities. There was one here in San Francisco... it closed, then reopened.. and I dont know if currently operating. And, so I ask.... which Eagle, where?
  15. If anyone here has private videos they want to share, please send them to me. I promise, promise, promise that I'll never put them on the internet. If they're big files, you can use my file transfer service... go to: IdiotFileSender.com Also accepting ATM cards with PINs noted right on the card.
  16. That sort of thing happens regularly. The reverse look up systems online are very unreliable. Perhaps their search engines mistakenly connect similar info. Perhaps the providers are so active in churning through voip and online non-cell texting numbers, that they get re-used by other. Call him, and proceed with a little healthy consumer's skepticism. Even the slightest doubt - some would opine 100% of new hires - FaceTime or some other videochat.
  17. My advice depends on the meaning of the word great. If first session was incomparable... if great = rarely found anyone providing that level of satisfaction..... then I defer to some of the advice posted above If great first session means very good, but Ive experienced equal pleasure, or more...... then move on and find someone else. After the second session you describe, I wouldn't return to the provider unless I felt strongly that he offers pleasure I cant hire elsewhere.
  18. I think that, overall, what you should do is based on an honest assessment of your own needs and wants. If I'm honest with myself, I'd claim to have a cavalier attitude regarding significant escort time away from me.... but the truth is, there have been a few travel experiences that I resented my rentguy disappearing wherever and with who knows whom. Those were my earliest experiences, and I think I'm more seasoned and understanding, but....?? I don't mean private time... I mean unplanned hours away from me, into the early morning hours. I know I'd never take a rentguy on a gay cruise. I could cite multiple reasons. But then, I'd never go on a all-ship gay cruise anyway. (I enjoyed my one gay group, 54 guys, on a routine public cruise.) I'd consider taking a rentguy on a 3-day, non-gay, cruise. Not sure. Definitely not a longer cruise. Unlike other vacations, a cruise is an unalterable 7 day commitment. I've hired for 24 hrs, and weekends.... excellent experiences. I hired for 9 days in my earlier experiences. After 5 or 6 days, while driving home from a resort area... I'd had enough. I made a comment to that effect, and 20 minutes after arriving home, he announced he'd made alternate arrangements. Left next morning. Typing this as an overnight just left my home 15 minutes ago. I asked him if he'd like to travel with me.... will see what happens.
  19. https://tnw.to/2Dmuiqd So you’ve enjoyed a lovely date; you’re sharing a cab home; things are going great. You suggest a nightcap and your companion agrees. There’s magic in the air, the sexual tension is at boiling point, and you’re both all set to do the deed. What better way to kill the vibe than to whip out an app on your phone to request consent?
  20. Travel gurus always advise, never use those airplane blankets. Related herein is confirmation.
  21. In this day & age, I think its just dumb for anyone to record sex - unless they 100% dont care who sees it. I would never trust that it would remain 100% private. Stuff happens, not always intentionally. My tablet is always trying to save stuff to the cloud... no matter how many times I confirm settings prohibiting that. Young relatives or friends' children are always reaching for phones.... oops. Maybe a curious friend, or housekeeper, or coworker/subordinate ..... Those things all seem farfetched, even paranoid. Except similar occurrences are increasingly prevalent. We live in a world where folks watch TMZ. Im no celebrity... no network wants video of me. But their very existence lends acceptability to pursuit of dirt. Young girls take unflattering pictures of other young girls and broadcast them with the intent to shame. Glass is half empty view... but not entirely unrealistic... if sex tapes of me existed... some day, soon or distant future, I'm sure theyd re-enter my life in a manner that I regret.
  22. If I hire a guy for travel, Id like some visual memory of the experience with him. And just in case some minds go there... I mean vacation-shots. Not hotel room shots. No beefcake pool shots. Not BFE documentation.
  23. Saw it today. Surprised to be the first to post about it. Also surprised how much I liked it. I could nitpick at it... but overall, I really liked it. One comment I'll make so its on record... while I dont see it making it as a broadway musical, I can see it becoming a vegas house production that stays around for years.
  24. I am very vanilla. With a rentguy... hotels, my place, his place, hot tubs on Van Ness or in SJ, vacation rentals up in Russian River. Non rentguy.... just a few feet off of a local hiking trail. No sex, but Ive gotten carried away with preliminaries in a variety of SF bars.
