There are a few hotels on Isle de la Cite and and Isle St Louis (the 2 islands within the city of Paris). Lovely places to stay. We have also rented apartments in the Marais area, and loved it.

The train from CDG to Paris central is an easy ride. I've been going to Paris long enough that the train wasn't an option and you had to take a ~ 45 min taxi ride (and this was before European cars had catalytic converters - it stank!). If you can travel with a single roller bag (and maybe a knapsack) the train is the way to go.

Even better than hotels, for the past several years we have been renting apartments when we travel. Love the extra space and comfort and having a kitchen, also love being in a neighborhood and living like a local. But, lacks the services of a hotel if that's important to you.

PTown is magical. A must for every gay man. If you are averse to huge crowds go off season.

What's the very worst musical you ever saw?
+ JEC replied to Merboy's topic in Live Theater & Broadway
I hated Rent, except for the main song/scene I found the rest of the show dark dull and dreary -

When I was in college I worked during the Summer as a lifeguard at a hotel. I was a very GL 18/19yo twink at the time. One day a handsome 30 something guest was at the pool in a speedo, and was undressing me with his eyes. He stayed until I closed the pool, and asked me if I wanted to hook up. We went back to my apartment, where he fucked me very aggressively. I think that was that night I realized I'm all top . Fortunately, he was not there the next day, that would've been awkward......

My suggestion is to narrow the list to your top 2-3 and engage them in brief chat. My experience in "falling in love" with profiles and pictures has too often been disappointing. You need to know if you really have chemistry with "the one". There are several threads on here about how to engage an escort - you don't want to appear as a "time waster" which there are so many of. So, be direct and get to your point in a few txts. REAL chemistry is so much more important than the image escorts are trying to depict. Good luck

I met a guy on Grindr who was a concierge at a posh hotel in Boston. There was a mens room just beyond the Concierge desk with a locking toilet closet. We did the deed, and then he went right back to concierg'ing.....???

This site and this community is a testament to the soul of Guy Fawkes, a man I never met but felt like I knew and had a kinship with. He was obviously a big hearted man to give all of the time energy and heart and soul he put into this community. He was also a thoughtfully rebellious soul, willing to take personal risk to challenge injustice...right up to the line. And he fought for the underdogs, this community here just trying to live our harmless truth without judgement or persecution. This loss comes at the end of a year we have all experienced so much loss, its' magnitude is amplified. Now, we wait....until the day we try to come to this site and it too, has passed on. While I'd love to think this community will live on, it's naive to think that can happen without a platform to bring us all together. Hard to believe there is another Guy Fawkes out there, someone with the heart, the time, the technical ability, the rebelliousness and the willingness to take the risks Guy did. I for one am not that person, which is why I have always been so thankful someone else was. Let's hope that Guy's spirit will live on in someone new, I think he would want that. We all hope that when we pass we have changed the world in some way, whether big or small. Guy changed the world by bringing this community together, and bringing our common interest out of the dark shadows and into the light. RIP Guy Fawkes, may your spirit and your legacy live on
