I didn't attend high school during the jurassic period. (How many spaces after THAT?) I still remember practicing a;sldkfjgh. I was never a great touch-typist and haven't been able to for years due to severe carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands (had the surgeries... the left one never healed correctly, and after the carpal tunnel came back was advised NOT to have second surgeries), but it's always helped me type fairly quickly with one finger on each hand due to an ingrained familarity with the keyboard.

It depends on how heavy her flow is. Didn't you take typing in high school?

Okay, I did a REAL double-take when I saw this headline... Blanche Devereaux's daughter (and teen-aged Darlene Connor's adult friend, whom Roseanne didn't realize was also the woman who'd bought her washer and dryer) had an affair with Rock Hudson?!?!?! Vince's ball-busting mom?!?!?!? I never would've guessed! -

A man leaving an Arizona hospital Tuesday tried to beat the heat by stealing an ambulance to avoid walking, police said. The Mesa Police Department said in a news releaseTodd Shell, 37, had just been released from the Banner Desert Hospital around 11:30 a.m. for a “heat related situation.” “When officers interviewed Shell after his arrest, he said when he came out of the hospital he thought it was too hot to walk home,” police said. “He walked back towards the hospital when he found the ambulance running in the bay while the crew was dropping off another patient. Shell decided to take the ambulance at that point so he wouldn’t have to walk.” Mesa Police said Shell was found driving on the U.S. 60 Freeway, and that, as officers tried to stop the 37-year-old, he “continued driving at normal speeds.” After getting off the freeway, Shell stopped and was soon surrounded by police. “Shell said that he wanted to buy a sandwich, but needed to go home and get some money first,” police said. “He said that he intended to return the ambulance.” Shell was booked into jail on one count of unlawful use of means of transportation and one count of unlawful flight from law enforcement, according to police. A representative with the Phoenix Fire Department told FOX10 it’s not out of the ordinary for EMTs to leave the keys in the ignition, while bringing a patient into the ER.

The cast of GRIMM took part in Portland's nude bike ride when the show filmed there. I think I've seen other pics where they were sans clothing.

A historic drop in Facebook stock pulled technology stocks lower on Wall Street, even as other sectors climbed. Facebook plummeted 19 percent Thursday after warning of slower growth ahead, erasing more than $100 billion in value. The drop was the largest one-day loss in value of any publicly traded company in history. Jeff Bezos is the world’s richest person — and it’s not even close The first $30 billion is the hardest. Just ask Jeff Bezos. The billionaire Amazon founder just saw his wealth climb from $120 billion to $150 billion over the last six months — a mere fraction of the 49 years it took him to gain his first $30 billion. Bezos crossed over the $150 billion net worth mark as his shares were lifted in part because of Amazon Prime Day. And so far, it’s unlikely that anyone will overtake the tech titan’s spot as the world’s richest person. Bill Gates holds the No. 2 spot with a middling $95 billion — leaving him $55 billion behind Bezos. Berkshire Hathaway’s Warren Buffett and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg hold spots 3 and 4, respectively — each having a net worth of roughly $83 billion, according to Bloomberg data. Bezos, 54, hit the $30 billion mark in October 2013 — when shares of the e-commerce giant were trading for roughly $360 apiece. His next $30 billion ascent took about two and a half years — to May 2016 — as Amazon’s share price doubled. But 2018 has clearly been Bezos’ year, as Amazon shares gained 57 percent in just seven months — quickly adding more than $50 billion to his net worth. If Bezos, who holds a 16 percent stake in Amazon, were his own company, he would rank 37th on the S&P 500 by market capitalization, according to Bloomberg data. And the chances of Bezos outlasting his wealth are slim. Assuming he lives to 100, he’d need to cash out of his Amazon holdings and spend $9 million a day to die with nothing. http://37.media.tumblr.com/b1a7ed959b2518df2a355568f4f8ecbc/tumblr_mlnylnFBx41rp0vkjo1_400.gif

At least six people have been detained following the release of a distressing video which appears to show a half-naked inmate being pinned to a table and tortured by guards at a Russian jail. The graphic 10-minute-long was released by Russia’s Novaya Gazeta newspaper on Friday. The paper claims that the gruesome incident took place in a jail in the central Russian city of Yaroslavl back in June 2017. The video caught attention of the Russia’s Investigative Committee which launched a probe into the case. On Monday the committee confirmed that at least six people have been detained so far. The disturbing footage allegedly shows a dozen officers from the Federal Penitentiary Service beating a prisoner, who is pinned down on a table as he screams in pain, pleading with the guards to stop. Identified as Evgeny Makarov by Novaya Gazeta, the inmate allegedly chokes and loses consciousness several times. The inmate is hit on his calves and heels with rubber batons and fists. One of the men in the footage is seen pouring water from a bucket over the prisoner’s head. The graphic footage was provided to the paper by lawyers of the Public Verdict Foundation, a human rights group which now represents Makarov. In the meantime, the prisoner’s lawyer, Irina Biryukova, appealed for state protection following threats, according to the Public Verdict Foundation on Monday. In her letter to the Investigative Committee chief, Alexander Bastrykin, Biryukova claimed that some guards from the video threatened to take revenge against the inmate’s lawyer.

A 4-year-old boy accidentally shot and killed his 2-year-old cousin Friday at a home in Southern California and deputies arrested the victim’s grandfather for allegedly leaving the gun where the kids could find it, authorities said. The girl died at a hospital shortly after the mid-morning shooting in the Muscoy area, east of Los Angeles, according to San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman. Cesar Lopez, 53, was taken into custody later in the day on suspicion of child endangerment and being a felon in possession of a firearm, the department said. It wasn’t immediately known if he has an attorney. The boy got hold of the gun and accidentally fired it, striking his cousin, officials said. Investigators determined Lopez “left the gun in an area that was accessible to the children,” a department statement said. Adults were home at the time of the accident, Bachman said. Both children lived at the house.

Authorities say a malnourished 15-year-old Oklahoma boy who survived by eating sticks, leaves and grass has been found living in a barn, and four members of his family have been arrested for child neglect. The Oklahoman reported Thursday that Lincoln County Assistant District Attorney Adam Panter said the boy weighed 80 pounds July 12, when he was found sharing the barn with goats, rabbits and chickens. The teen is hospitalized. The boy’s name and condition haven’t been released. Panter says he could have died without medical attention. A spokeswoman for the state Department of Human Services declined to comment on the case. Panter says the boy’s father, stepmother and two older brothers have been arrested on child neglect warrants. Court records don’t indicate formal charges have been filed. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Police say an Iowa man and his girlfriend tortured the man’s 8-year-old son for months by locking him in a basement enclosure, withholding food and making him endure dog bites. The Hardin County Attorney’s Office said Wednesday that kidnapping charges had been filed against 39-year-old Traci Lynn Tyler and 30-year-old Alex Craig Shadlow, both of Ackley. An arrest affidavit says the abuse occurred between July and September 2017. Investigators allege the boy was locked for at least nine hours a day in an enclosed 6-foot-square space under the basement stairs, where he slept on concrete with no bedding and had no access to a bathroom. Police say Tyler also urged her dog to attack the boy, which left scars on his back and limbs. Authorities say the boy’s school alerted investigators to the abuse. The couple’s attorneys didn’t return phone messages Thursday. -
