The fact is, as wonderful as the series is, there are several minor gaffes in the writing. The first time they get together, Shane tells Ilya he's never been with another man so why is it the second time they get together and he wants to fuck him Ilya asks have you ever done this before? We've already covered the initial make out session at the cottage when Shane says he hasn't been with anyone since the last time they got together, which really doesn't make sense if you don't include the fact that he slept with at least one other man at some point in the books. And I know there is much more detail about Ilya's family in the books, but how does his brother know that he is gay and if the answer is that it is from some kind of secretive police spying on the affair he had with his coach's son wouldn't Ilya have wound up even more secretive and guarded than he is? I'm sure there are a few other nits to pick but those are the ones rattling around in the old noggin right now.
