  1. 2 very big news items from baseball today... FINALLY! Somebody in Lin-Manuel Miranda's family is successful! After a very slow start, cousin Juan is up to .276 and slugging .477 with 10 homers. AND... An out man played LF for the Dodgers today (and did very well) and there was no controversy or hullabalu whatsoever. JAMES OUTMAN Los Angeles Dodgers #77 Right Fielder FOLLOW HT/WT 6' 3", 215 lbs DOB 4/14/1997 (25) BAT/THR Left/Right
  2. Whoopi might not like how you spelled her name, Wilyum.
  3. Beamed down (or up) for the last time? Approached her final frontier? Crossed over the rainbow bridge? Bought the farm? Kicked the bucket? Croaked?
  4. Do you know what today (7/31/2022) is? The day George Jetson was supposedly born. Did you also know it only ran for 1 season & 24 episodes? A 1985 reboot added 50 more episodes.
  5. They spent some serious dough on effects this season. Season 3 has gotten quite strong reactions. The writing's been a bit heavy-handed at times, but they've actually tackled some issues this season, as being on HULU has allowed the episodes to run from 62-87 minutes and some have felt like mini-movies. Definitely more towards the serious this season. And their timing has been remarkable. Keep in mind that these episodes were written 2+ years ago... An episode dealing with abortion aired the night before SCOTUS struck down Roe v Wade. The week before had dealt with suicide and the next week was about trans identity and rights, which followed up on an episode from season one. The season (series?) finale is next week. This was another public service announcement for @Unicorn
  6. Don’t talk smack about NewsNation. Dean Cain found that out the hard way after the fledgling network’s lead host, Dan Abrams, called him out for claiming to have “never heard about” the channel in an interview with Fox News’ Greg Gutfeld. “Maybe you will after tonight, Dean,” Abrams shot back on Thursday night’s show. Abrams then pulled out receipts and played a clip of Cain appearing on the network back in April 2021. “Wait, is that Dean Cain on NewsNation?” he asked. “I thought he never heard of us! And not just that, he knows exactly what our network is about.” Abrams’ media watchdog site, Mediaite, naturally covered the petty tiff, and he also claimed that Cain “pitched himself to the network back in 2021, spelling out the very mission of this channel.” Cain apparently had some time to kill. He responded to Abrams on Twitter insisting, “I have ZERO recollection of @NewsNation.” He then expressed his respect to Ashleigh Banfield, who hosts “Banfield” on the network, and said, “I did not ‘pitch myself’ to your Network.” The network has been mocked for its low ratings since announcing it hired ex-CNN anchor Chris Cuomo to join the team. An insider told us NewsNation is “definitely betting on” new hire Cuomo to help beef up the numbers with his new show debuts this fall. Enlarge Image Dean definitely looks a bit puffy in the pic above, but I've seen many actors age less gracefully. If his politics weren't repugnant he'd still be fairly attractive. Chris still looks good in the second pic. https://pagesix.com/2022/07/29/dan-abrams-defends-newsnation-after-dean-cain-diss/
  7. An floating home in Seattle has hit the market for $2.48 million. Made up of two bedrooms and two bathrooms, this effortlessly cool houseboat is located in upscale Mallard Cove — just across Lake Union from the actual house in “Sleepless in Seattle.” Pegged as having “rare amenities,” the waterbound property comes with a 34-foot boat slip, a lower deck ideal for kayak launching and a sun-filled open floorplan with water views from every room, the listing notes. Melissa Ahlers and Shannon Campbell with Compass hold the listing. “I’m [currently] on a boating trip with friends from the dock,” Ahlers told The Post. “That is what makes dock living so special — the people. Buyers will chose to live in Mallard Cove for the spacious floating homes, larger boat slips, parking … and will learn that the community, on the dock and the greater Seattle floating home community, is priceless.” The houseboat spans 1,817 square feet. John Paul/HD Estates The kitchen. John Paul/HD Estates The home also features an updated kitchen with gas, stainless-steel appliances, and granite and marble surfaces, according to the listing. There is a crafted spiral staircase which leads to rooftop deck boasting views of the Queen Anne neighborhood and Gas Works Park — made famous by the paintball scene in the 1999 film “10 Things I Hate About You.” The primary suite comes with a walk-in closet, a gas stove and a balcony. “In a big city, we look out for each other and get the opportunity to share the day’s events as we walk down our shared docks,” Ahlers said. “Some of those dock crossings turn into life-long friendships.” The home last sold back in 2001 for $580,000. John Paul/HD Estates The house is located in the upscale Mallord Cove community. John Paul/HD Estates As for famous film where Tom Hanks swept Meg Ryan off her feet? Ahlers adds that “tour shops still sell ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ merchandise and tour boats still point out the actual ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ floating home,” which is only a 9-minute drive from this boat house. https://nypost.com/2022/07/29/a-charming-houseboat-in-seattle-can-be-yours-for-2-48m/ I think it's quite nice. Great pics... the place looks immaculate and in pristine condition.

  12. Yankees radio broadcaster Suzyn Waldman, MLB Network and Sirius XM Radio host Chris Russo were selected Monday for induction into the Radio Hall of Fame. Waldman, 75, is in her 36th season covering or broadcasting the Yankees, her 18th as a radio color commentator. She was the first woman to become a fulltime MLB broadcaster. "Suzyn has informed and entertained Yankees fans with precision and care for 36 years," the Yankees said in a statement. "This accomplishment is the deserved result of decades of hard work and dedication to her craft, and we would be remiss to not laud her professionalism and resolve while staring down countless obstacles as a pioneering woman in her field." Russo, 62, nicknamed "Mad Dog," was hired by New York's WFAN in 1988 and gained notoriety as cohost of "Mike and the Mad Dog" with Mike Francesa from 1989-2008. Russo has been with Sirius XM since 2008 and the MLB Network since 2014. Tampa's starting catcher is out for the year. Zunino’s problem was first termed left shoulder inflammation. The team quickly thereafter revealed Zunino may be battling thoracic outlet syndrome, however. He received Botox treatment in hopes of remedying the issue without going under the knife, but that evidently proved unsuccessful. QUESTION: How would a smoother forehead have helped his condition? 🤪😁😜😇😝
  13. Kevin Kiermaier has elected to undergo surgery to address a labrum issue with his left hip, manager Kevin Cash told reporters (including Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times and Joe Trezza of MLB.com). He’ll miss the remainder of the 2022 season, but the expectation is he’ll be ready for next Spring Training.
  14. I can't remember either of my grandfathers. Possibly because both died 33 years before I was born.
  15. The father of the only woman Will Truman ever slept with has died.
  16. Coyotes killed six of Martha Stewart's peacocks. She is bereft. I wonder if anyone ever tried to bring an 'emotional support' coyote on a plane...
