Edibles usually take 2 hours to hit me and even then don't last all that long. The difference in price per high is enormous. Though some weed stores have opened in NYC, it's still technically illegal for them to sell, and I don't know any that are near me. With my dealer in the hospital, she didn't have a large supply on hand. Her best friend is running 'the business' for right now and I was able to get a few yesterday, but they won't last long. And I have such a high tolerance for THC that edibles sometimes don't even work for me.

I send my best friend magazine subscriptions whenever I find free offers. I never use real names. Kay O'Pectate has gotten a few, and some samples, as well. She has the world's loudest cat who always tries to give us his opinion on whatever we're discussing when we're on the phone. So the last few subscriptions were addressed to 'Woman with an obnoxiously loud cat.' Her daughter got a kick out of Claire Voyant. Virginia Hamm & Sandy Aygo are two other favorites, as well as Hedda Lettuce c/o Caesar Salad. Then there are the 2 Crystals: DeKanter and Shandaleer. Her mail carrier must think she's running a boarding house for drag queens.

And we thank you. Can we just call you a klutz? Well, to be fair, what's a few more brain-dead Californians?

“Jeopardy!” fans on Long Island were shocked to see an incorrect Nassau County village’s name listed in a question during last Friday’s episode, sparking outrage from a local legislator, Long Island Press reported. The question read: “Type of institution that has a ‘row’ in Garden City on Long Island, including one about firefighting and a children’s one,” prompting the undisputed answer of “museum.” But the referred-to row — consisting of the Long Island Children’s Museum, Cradle of Aviation Museum and Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center — is actually located a smidgen east of Garden City in the hamlet Uniondale. And Nassau County legislator Siela Bynoe of nearby Uniondale and surrounding areas is making sure that the show — along with its viewers — won’t forget it. She penned a letter to “Jeopardy!” executive producer Michael Davies explaining the show’s miss — one which listed a ritzy suburb in lieu of the actual working-class nabe, according to LI Press. The borders between Uniondale, Garden City and neighboring Hempstead can be confusing even to locals because of their zig-zagging nature — especially near Museum Row, one located on the former runways of Mitchel Air Force Base. This wasn’t the first time a Uniondale staple made its way onto “Jeopardy!” — nor was it the first time the neighborhood suffered at the hands of an on-air gaffe. The New York Islanders, who played over four decades at the nearby Nassau “Fort Neverlose” Coliseum, were the correct response to an $800 question under the category of “hockey” several years ago. When the late host Alex Trebek gave the clue “Bryan Trottier sparked this team to 4 Stanley Cup Championships from 1980 through 1983,” current host and former contestant Ken Jennings erroneously responded with the New York Rangers. I went to some boring thing several years back with my sister & her family at the aviation museum, and it was so wonderful that I don't have the slightest recollection of what it was.

You probably don't know this, but 15+ years before you were born, there was a hit song about this exact situation.

I had the initial procedures today for 2 dental implants. One broken tooth had to be extracted, and one that was extracted years ago had the initial part of the implant inserted. The surgeon told me NO SMOKING for 2 weeks. He told me how costly it could be if they fail. I mentioned my pot smoking and he mentioned edibles and I told him my dealer is in the hospital and he suggested something I'd never heard before... 'smoke through your nose'. I thought he was being facetious, but he said no... insert the joint into your nostril and inhale. (NOT the lit end!) Guess what? It works!

My brother in law works from home now and rarely goes anywhere far, so he let his gas tank go down to nearly E. He has a 23 gallon tank. He went to Costco (or BJs) to fill up & the pump cut off at $100 because there's a $100 limit for credit cards. And now, a public service announcement... Stephen Fry: ‘My life is changed forever’ Fry, 64, shared with his 12.4 million Twitter followers the meaning of the little triangle next to the fuel gauge icon. “Well, simmer me in prune juice and call me Daisy. Hey, whatever turns you on! I never knew till now that you can tell which side of a car the filler cap is on by a little arrow next to the petrol pump icon,” he tweeted. “64 years on the planet shrouded in ignorance. My life is changed forever,” the actor continued. Ford CEO Jim Farley responded to Fry on Twitter, sharing the backstory for the feature. “The idea for this indicator icon was recommended by a @Ford engineer named Jim Moylan in 1986,” Farley shared. “It was such a useful idea it eventually spread to other manufacturers,” he added. Farley shared the original letter pitching the idea, which included an illustration. “The indicator or symbol I have in mind would be located near the fuel gauge and simply describe to the driver on which side of the vehicle the fuel filler door is located,” Moylan wrote in April 1986. “Based on personal experience…I feel that this little indicator would remove the guesswork of which side I want to park,” the letter said. The icon was first used in the 1989 Ford Escort and Mercury Tracer and later adopted by other automakers, according to Fox. Somebody tell Rita Rudner about this... she used to have a joke in her act about having a rotating gas tank... whichever side of the pump she pulled up to, the gas cap was on the other side.

Interesting game for Greene last night vs. Arizona. The leadoff man bunted for a hit, was thrown out stealing as the 2nd batter struck out, and that was it. The game was called after 7 because of rain, so it goes down as his first CG & shutout.

Queen teases unreleased song with Freddie Mercury Jeez, she's really going all out for her silver jubilee, ain't she? I have to admit, this might even be bigger news than ABBA releasing a new album after 40 years.

Jamie Dornan 6 part HBO series THE TOURIST
samhexum replied to samhexum's topic in TV and Streaming services
Watched it in one morning. It held my interest, though I think it went off the rails towards the end. I liked that it was set in the outback, as it gave me the feeling of being transported away from civilization. There was a plot line for one character which drove me nuts... I watched something fairly recently that had the same exact plot, but for the life of me, I can't remember what it was. -
https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34043550/kevin-cash-says-pride-night-logo-opt-some-tampa-bay-rays-players-divide-team A number of Tampa Bay Rays players decided not to wear rainbow-colored logos on their uniforms as part of the team's annual "Pride Night" on Saturday that recognized the LGBTQ community. Rays manager Kevin Cash addressed it after Sunday's game, saying he doesn't think it'll negatively impact the clubhouse because discussions among the players over the past few weeks were constructive and emphasized the value of differing perspectives. "First and foremost, I think the organization has done a really good thing to have Pride Nights supporting our gay community to come out and have a nice night at the ballpark," Cash said. "Impressed that our players have had those conversions and we want to support our players that choose to wear or choose not to wear to the best of our capabilities." Among players who elected to remove the logos were pitchers Jason Adam, Jalen Beeks, Brooks Raley, Jeffrey Springs and Ryan Thompson, according to the Tampa Bay Times. Adam was elected to speak for the group after the game, saying it was a "faith-based decision" for many of them. "So it's a hard decision," Adam told the Tampa Bay Times. "Because ultimately we all said what we want is them to know that all are welcome and loved here. But when we put it on our bodies, I think a lot of guys decided that it's just a lifestyle that maybe -- not that they look down on anybody or think differently -- it's just that maybe we don't want to encourage it if we believe in Jesus, who's encouraged us to live a lifestyle that would abstain from that behavior. "... It's not judgmental. It's not looking down. It's just what we believe the lifestyle he's encouraged us to live, for our good, not to withhold. But again, we love these men and women, we care about them, and we want them to feel safe and welcome here." "It's one of those things, my parents taught me to love everyone as they are, go live your life, whatever your preferences are, go be you," centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier, who wore the rainbow logos, told the Times. "I can't speak for everyone who's in here, obviously, but this is a family-friendly environment here at a big league ballfield. "... We just want everyone to feel welcomed and included and cheer us on. No matter what your views on anything are." You just knew the man with the most beautiful eyes in baseball would have a sensitive take on the subject. SIGH!

How about this for a run of dominant starting pitching: Taillon 7 IP, 1R Severino 7 IP, 0R Cole 8 IP 0BB 11K, but 5 runs because of one bad inning Montgomery 6 IP + one batter, 2R JP Sears 1st ML start 5 IP, 0R Nestor the Protester 8 IP + one batter, 1R Taillon 8 IP, 0R, 2 hits Cole 6 IP 1R, 2 hits Severino 6 1/3 IP 4 R, 2 hits Montgomery 7 IP, 1R Nestor the Protester 7 IP, 0R Taillon 8 IP, 1R, 2 hits, perfect through 7 Cole 7 IP, 0R, 2 hits, perfect through 6 2/3 The starter has allowed 2 hits in 5 of the last 7 games, and has gone 6 or more innings in 8 straight, and 12 of 13, with the only one <6 being 5 shutout innings in a rookie's 1st start. Totals: 90 1/3 IP (2 outs short of 7 IP per game), 16 runs in 13 games (9 runs in 2 games, 7 runs in the other 11). They're only 8-5 in those games because of some bullpen & hitting problems. NEXT DAY... This is getting ridiculous. Severino was only perfect through one today, then Miguel Cabrera hit a line drive right to short that went off Kiner-Falefa's glove. It was immediately called a hit. And that was the Tigers' offense (+ one walk). Severino 7 IP, 1H, 0R, 1BB, 10K, 92 pitches. The last 3 games, the starters: 22 IP, 5H, 1R The last 5: 36 IP, 14H, 2R Judge batted lead-off and homered on the 1st pitch, his 20th in 38 games. Other Yankees to do that: Ruth (5 times), Maris & Mantle (both in 1961).
