I ironically was way more financially secure during Covid than I am in the current economy.

I'm sure that if escorting was legal, a mega-corp would find some way to force everyone to go through them. Somehow.

We are experiencing a massive float-to-the-top economy.
Everything that can be done to undermine small businesses is out there in an effort to bring an additional few points of market share to the global mega-corporations.

All the "good economic news" that was (until very recently) going around only revolved around Wall Street and stocks.
In reality, small businesses in America are still suffering badly.
We're finally seeing the consequences of this.

Yes. I have a good friend who is a film editor and the contraction of film and TV production due to the strikes and Marvel bubble are definitely impacting the entertainment industry. And then inflation is hitting us all, which means less disposable income. ☹️

I think combination of all of the above, tax season, inflation, saturated market, election year, climate change (ok, those last two were made up, please have a sense of humor).
I myself am booking less and saving more due to the uncertainties of the economy at this point. The bigger influences of my slowing down are the mixed messages about the state of the current economy. However, I do see a lot more new providers, which might be saturating the market.
