I like you @loverboy95, I really do, but that is a huge false equivalency.

Most adults already carry HSV1. Gladys Kravitz award for you too.

Wait a second.
@Benjamin_Nicholas's post refers to HSV1. Is that really what all this fuss is about? HSV1 is the virus that causes oral herpes, and it is estimated that 50-80% of adults already carry this virus, and 90% of adults over 50 have been exposed to it. (http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/healthlibrary/conditions/adult/infectious_diseases/Oral_Herpes_22,OralHerpes/) As I understand it, anyone who has ever had a cold sore is HSV1+.
It is also my understanding that current STI screening protocols don't even test for HSV1, because it's so common that it's presumed that most people are positive. So, I suppose we can argue about whether an escort needs to disclose their HIV status (I'm personally of the opinion that we should all assume that everyone we have sex with is HIV+ so it doesn't matter), but it seems like the original poster's comment, based on @Benjamin_Nicholas's twitter post, is about HSV1. Are we honestly expecting anyone who has ever had a cold sore to disclose "oh, by the way, I had a cold sore 6 or 7 years ago. I thought you should know." That's ridiculous.

Thanks for the warning. I'm on PReP and get tested for STI's regularly - and have received as many vaccinations as you can get (Hep, HPV, etc). I am vigilant about my PReP schedule - and generally assume that most people are positive and proceed accordingly.
I worry a bit on the forum about stigmatizing people who are HIV positive, when so many of my friends and associates (and sex workers I know) are taking their meds and remain undetectable. My take on it is - if you're hiring - and that is a big concern for you - get on PReP. That way, no matter what they are doing, you're covered on your end from an HIV perspective (STI's - and the level of risk of you choose in your activities related to STI's - is a separate matter). As someone relatively new here, I notice a lot of anxiety surrounding escorts and HIV status rather than other STI's... I was around for the plague - so I get it. But - I think it's important to take responsibility for your own sexual health (as much as you can) - and not look to anyone to "disclose" or "not disclose" to you.

Oh lord. Such drama. Everyone is positive in my book. Only fools depend on honesty.

Absolutely. I stand for the right of any person to keep his/her HIV status private. I do not expect an escort I hire has to disclose his status, it is just not my business.

This is really the only part that matters. Whether we choose condoms or PrEP, or both, each of us is responsible for our own sexual health.

From Quora:
What is your most interesting encounter with the police?
I was hitchhiking. A guy picked me up. A few miles down the road we were pulled over by a Washington State trooper.
The trooper was taking his time getting out of his cruiser. My driver was getting upset - glancing nervously in the rear view mirror.
“Look at this guy! What the hell is doing? Talking on the radio, looking out the window. Fucking cops!”
The trooper has finally emerged from his cruiser and is now adjusting his Smokey Bear hat while checking his look in the driver’s door glass.
“Jesus H Christ, what next?” My driver furiously rolled down his window and yelled back at the trooper “Hey! Did you forget your lint roller or some goddamn thing?”
The trooper straightened up, glanced our way and began a slow, deliberate walk up to the driver’s side of our car.
He had his right hand firmly on his weapon. I had my hand on the door handle, debating whether to jump out and run. The driver was halfway out the window, almost screaming .
“So tell me, pig, just what do you want? Why the hell did you pull me over?”
The trooper crouched down so his face was even with the driver’s. His face showed no emotion. I was jammed up tight to passenger side door, trying to make it clear that I’m Not With This Guy.
The trooper glanced at me, then held the driver in a steady gaze.
“What time are we supposed to be at Mom’s house tonight? I’ve got her birthday cake back at the office.”

Don't see any reason for this. Once you schedule the pickup through your Uber app, it tells you the driver's name and car make/model. You would just phone your escort to tell him what kind of car to look for, then he would wait at the designated pickup point for the Uber car, just as you would. The escort could easily identify himself as you (using your first name) to the Uber driver, if the driver even asks. Uber does not have your picture on file, nor does the driver ask for the pickup's ID.

This is probably an elaboration on the same thing as the Time cover story above, but the Uber board of directors ousted CEO Travis Kalanick in June because of the company's poor financial performance and a long history of toxic bro culture that led to the tolerance of sexual harassment of female employees, doxxing and harassing female tech reporters, and conducting invasive opposition research on women alleging they were raped by Uber drivers, including surreptitiously accessing their medical records.

I also saw elsewhere (probably on Twitter) that Uber's response to a parent's complaint about a driver harassing a teenage girl was to ask why the girl was traveling by herself. The parent's response was "I will never use Uber again."
My problem with Uber is primarily that their pricing is artificially low and is set based on their desire to undercut any regulated industry and obtain a monopoly, not any defensible way of recovering their costs (they're not). They also use legal flimflam to skirt costs they should be incurring (by treating drivers as independent contractors, for example, or going to great lengths to disclaim responsibility for drivers' actions). They're irresponsible.
